  1. make 2 Registry snapshots with RegShot or Windows System State Analyzer and compare them. So you can see which registry setings are changed.
  2. Have you read my post? It DOESN'T replace the Explorer.exe.
  3. it was KB2519400: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2519400/en
  4. Please ban this SPAM bot: http://www.msfn.org/board/user/325342-click4pc/ He spams the W´Forums with useless comments.
  5. do the old approach: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 to check which 3rd party tool causes it. I can see a lot of driver delays but I can't see what they do (only shows UNKNOWN)
  6. I solved it by removing a hotfix which updated the Winresume.exe
  7. if you don't need MUIs, Bitllocker, DirectAccess or VHD boot and other things you can buy the Win7 x64 Prof edition.
  8. this tool changes the exe. I use this tool: http://www.coderforlife.com/projects/utilities/#expstart to replace the orb and without modifying the explorer.exe
  9. do you had any new crashes the last days?
  10. the symbol loading takes some time and causes this "not responding". Ataport.sys belongs to IDE drives. Which IDE devices (HDD, DVD drives) do you use?
  11. create max 3 primary partitions and 1 extended partition and create logical partitions in the extended partition.
  12. I also tried this and it failed, too.
  13. the same also applies to Office 2010 and the upcoming Sp1
  14. this can be the cause. Watch it a few more days. you can xcopy xperf to any PCs (also NT5.x) and run it from CMD files to automate it.
  15. there is no real slipstraming for Office 2007 updates. The only way is to put the MSP files in the update folder.
  16. The DPC and Interrupts are fine. CPU usage is small and the hihgest spikes are 128-256µs which is fine. But I can see that the Audiodg.exe (Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation) causes 25% usage. This may cause the sound issues. I can see that the function AudioEng.Dll!CAudioFormatConvert::ConvertInt24WideToFloat32 is the cause. I can also see that the CTAFX.DLL is involved. this file belongs to your Creative SB X-Fi. The FX in the driver name let me think that this DLL has something to do with Effects. Do you run Starcraft with EAX? If yes disable it in SF2 and also disable the audio enhancements in Windows 7: http://technicallyeasy.net/2010/09/how-to-disable-audio-enhancements-windows-7/ Does this make a difference?
  17. try to capture 1 minute where you get the error. Zip it with 7z (ULTRA/LZMA2) to dramatically reduce the size of the file.
  18. I checked both and I think it has something to do with the HDD/Disk IO activity hiberread="10115000" resume="74737000"> it takes long 10s to read the hibernation file. Than the 60s gap occurs. When you open the etl with the viewer you can see a lot of driver delays. I dumped the driver delays into a text file and saw that the IAStorDataMgrSvc.exe/ (intel storage), NclUSBSrv.exe ( Nokia USB Media Server/PC Connectivity Solution) reads data during resume. Can you stop this Nokia software and disconnect your Nokia E52 while doing the hibernation?
  19. can you try to reproduce this and run the xperf commands to trace this? Zip the etl and upload it to mediafire.com
  20. based on your pictures everything is fine. You only have page faults (data must be read from the disk because they were not in the RAM). Maybe because of the pagefault you have the playback issues. and do you have the issue too if you remove this driver?
  21. I don't understand your question. For x64 Vista/7 you need different updates compared to the 32Bit version. For Office 2010 this is the same. Large Excel and Access files can benefit from x64. For normal users you can stay at the 32Bit Office until all 3rd party software vendors update their addons to support the 64Bit version.
  22. yes, maybe this new trace gives us more hints. Run it in a CleanBoot so that all 3rd party tools are closed. I still see some spikes which show UNKNOWN. so a different driver still uses dynamic code. My guess is this here: GEARAapiWDM.sys Which tool uses this driver?
  23. can you make a new trace with WLAN disabled/disconnected?
  24. what happens if you disconnect the WLAN connection before going to hibernation and disable the automatic connection? Is the resume still slow?
  25. you need the special x64 Office 2010 updates. The 32Bit updates don't work.
