for some reason some of my shell32.dll icons do not get replaced (recycle bin, my computer, my docs) and welcome screen
XPize Darkside doesn't replace the recycle bin, my computer or my docs icons...
Also, the Logon Screen isn't change when using the ISO option.
the only pcs that would show the new bootscreen were using amd processors ?? intel processor computers did not show the new boot screen, (this is weird no??)This may be more to do with multi processors... Do these intel machines have dual cores?
Anyways, I've hopefully resolved this in the next release.

The source was released for YOU to create your own variations of XPize...
The bootscreen and logonscreen script IS in the XPize Source not XIS Source.
-
XIS is the basic source and does not actually have any XPize images or icons there...
You want the XPize Source. Which will have all the XPize icons and images.
Also, reading the little discriptions in the XPize installer tells you what the file is for that your editing...
-
hmmm... can't really think of anything that could cause this tbh!
Maybe XPero might have an idea...
-
I'm waiting on a couple of resources, that need replacing. Other than that its ready
tomorrow hopefully.
-
Was because I'd removed "Printer Support" with nLite...
And that update installs a printer!

STICK TO ONE TOPIC PLEASE :@
We will use this one to debug your problem...
Has this ONLY happened with XPize Darkside and XPize? or has this happened with other programs.
Do you have any antivirus software installed?

STICK TO ONE TOPIC PLEASE
I've replied in the other one...

How long do you leave it before pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL and running the installer again?
What happens if you run explorer.exe? Use CTRL-ALT-DEL for this...
What happens if you restart the machine again? Use CTRL-ALT-DEL for this...

There is a topic running atm discussing support for 64bit XP. If a solution is found then I will release a 64bit version.
-
I'll definately be in board on helping with this... and will be happy to release a 64bit version of XPize Darkside if a solution is found
-
The problem was this...
xpsepsc-x86-en-us_f01c40d4ce7a451a51724bb2c44c164d063938e6.exe
Have no idea where I got this file! Anyway, executing this file on its own causes the error.
-
It's way better than the original or blue xpize!
If it wasn't for XPize then XPize Darkside wouldn't be here!
All credit should go to XPero and his wonderful source

@DaPozt
This version DOES NOT need XPize installed first... Uninstall XPize Darkside, then uninstall XPize to return your system to normal.
Install XPize Darkside again... Does the XPize Reloader run properly on start up now?
-

Looks like ALL downloads that coming from xpize.net are corrupt atm...
The mirrors seem fine though, although a few old releases are no longer available...
XPero? think you may have to reup all of your downloads
-
Has anyone experienced any problems with the new bootscreen? IE: It not applying itself when installing XPize Darkside?
-
Could you add dates for when the releases were released in the changelog?
Superb idea! Will add them to the next release... of which is going to be very very soon!
In the meantime, if people could help me out with dates of the first releases that would be very handy, I can't remember!!!
-
Is the 4th release the newest release? Does this release contain the updated logonui.exe?
This is the latest public release, no... ONCE AGAIN this does NOT have the latest logonui resources.
I did not spend hours on the changelog for fun you know...
-
What mirror you downloading from and have you tried any other mirrors?
-
@Johndoe74
XPize Darkside is based on the source of XPize, To be completely honest with you, I have never tested my installation with HFSLIP.
I will have a look at this tomorrow, and get back to you. ttfn!
-
@ CLHatch & Bledd
I have created a poll, and would be very greatful for everyone to vote so I can see whether it should be added...
[Release] XPize Darkside 2.0
in XPize
Posted
Zyx Maiden is right, if you install both, both reloaders will try to reload the same files with their respective resources...
Not to mention installing one after the other will back up modified files from the previous installation creating havok when coming to uninstalling...
So in other words, Uninstall XPize before installing XPize Darkside
