If you force it but it will be slow as (...), Windows Experience Index will be at 1.0. I have a 2.0 rating on a similiar laptop

Are you using a multi-in-one disk? I ask because a standard XP disk only contains 1 set of files, but a multi-os disk will contain several sets of the same file in hardlinks to save space. However when copied windows will create all of the copies and ignore the hardlinks. If you are using an official cd (i.e. a pretty, holigramed one) then you shouldn't be experiencing this issue.

OK! I just tested the admin file being in the updates folder and, YES that is most likely what they have done. SO: OK Here goes: #1 Make sure you have 07 enterprise office! #2 Run it with the following switch = setup.exe /admin #3 Follow all of the instructions paying alot of attention to the "Licensing and User interface" section enter the serial and select Display level = none #4 save the resulting file as "Your-Name-here.msp" and add that file to the office 07 updates folder. Don't use spaces in the file name! Thats all there is 4 easy steps!!!! Adding the hotfixes and updates: SP2 = http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...81-9db49b4ab6e5 All current hotfixes as of 1\16\2010 = http://rapidshare.com/files/336390886/Offi...ack-glb-0116.7z If you don't know the key offhand go here: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ and get then run this program. Edit: After revisiting my post I see I left out a concise todo order. #1 Download all files I give links to #2 Run the keyfinder & Copy your Office07 key #3 Copy the office 07 disk to a folder (Say c:\office07) & Delete the files in the update folder. #4 Run the setup with the following switch: setup.exe /admin #5 Make the admin file & save it to the updates folder #6 Run the sp with the following switch: office2007sp2-kb953195-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:c:\office07\updates #7 Extract ALL files from the hotfix pack to the same updates folder #8 Clean up your updates folder by deleting all files except .msp ones #9 Burn the whole set of folders and files to a DVD (See pic)

OK look in the updates dir and tell us what file is in there please. IF I remember right the placement of the admin file in there auto-kicks off the UA installation. After we find that putting the updates in is super easy!

WPI 7.8.0 Feature requests.
Kelsenellenelvian replied to Kelsenellenelvian's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
OK I will try to sludge through this one as simply as possible: For the first one you will have to {DELETE} the .lnk file, Then you will have to use the shortcut jscript to make a new one. {DELETE} "%allusersprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\CCleaner\CCleaner.lnk" {JSCRIPT}=CreateShortcut("ccleaner","%programfiles%\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe","","%programfiles"\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe","","Programs","_ System\_ Tweaking & Tuning") THEN you will use a {deldir} to clean up the old locations... {DELDIR} "%allusersprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\CCleaner" YES, You will have to do this for each entry #2?? Been on mritters desk for awhile now. We ALL want it but some of the logistics are kinda nasty. So it will come in a future version. When? I cannot say but a donation to mritter may help his, ummmmm energy level... -

Man you need some common cents: 2.c Requesting help with academic material, such as assignments, is not permitted on MSFN. Receiving such help is often viewed as plagiarism in many schools, and therefore cannot be allowed. This is for your own protection in your academic career.

Sounds to me like XPize was NOT what you need to use...

http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5326 Here you can find a list of sorted win2k updates. All the obsolete ones are already weeded out. OR you can just use that update pack.

Moving hard drive from old pc to new pc w\o removing os
Kelsenellenelvian replied to adrian2055's topic in Windows Vista
Due to MS's practices and the way the newer os's work this will result in a HUGE failure. I hate to break it to you but you will be much better served by backing up ALL of your important data and reinstalling. -
Hmmm musta worked right...

OH I also meant to post the actual cmd and ask if adding the reg.exe was fine. Makes me wonder though Jaclaz: If this works for the lba fix what else can we cram in to the HIV file this way?
-
Yup thats the right one.. I am PRETTY sure I see your issue though: C:\Program Files (x86)\vLite\wimfltr\x64 And C:\Program Files (x86)\vLite\wimfltr\x86 BOTH need to exist. Don't rename a folder, just make a x64 one please.

Hey gentlmen: I made a cmd file and am posting it here. All you need is reg.exe and this in the root of your disk. (Same folder as i386) setlocal set winsource=.\i386 attrib -r -a -s -h %winsource%\setupreg.hiv reg load HKLM\Setup %winsource%\setupreg.hiv set regkey=ControlSet001\Services\atapi\Parameters reg add HKLM\Setup\%regkey% /v EnableBigLba /t reg_dword /d 00000001 /f reg unload HKLM\Setup set winsource= set regkey= endlocal Run it then delete the 2 files. Viola everything is done... All credit goes to Jaclaz for the info links.

nlite iso 2gb into multiple 700mb cds burning
Kelsenellenelvian replied to rajat999999's topic in nLite
OK How about "It CANNOT be done using nLite?" Next answer: Use a program called cdswitch (Can be found in the unattended istallations section) to manage your cd's post install... -
REALLY Hate to be a party pooper, BUT: vLite is NOT for business or corporation usage! WPI is only free for personal uses.
