  1. Feedback: extremly simple solution: instead of "%programfiles%\\blah" use "%programfiles%blah" in config.js. This is quite simple, but for %cdrom% you have to use the double slashes... actually I took a look into the source of wpi and I saw a function that messes with this variables.... why do you add "\\" at the end of the %programfiles% variable? I mean anyone should use the system variables in wpi exactly like the cdrom one ... I don't see that function's role, that's all... Is it really necessary?
  2. hmm ... but that way i get something like "C:\Program Files\\blah\program.exe". And in most of the cases, it is ok for dos commands, but this is not happening for all of them . I'll try to solve it by creating a new variable...
  3. I recently updated to the latest version of WPI and I have some problems. I attached my config.js because first of all, if I click "Select all", some entries are not checked (flash player and scite editor). They are both dependant on other entries ... I think that is the cause ... And another problem is that the entries up from 130 are not installed ... (begining with flash ... maybe it is the cause of this, dunno). This is not totally tested right now, so I shall stick to my first problem for now. I would really appreciate if you take a look at my config.js and tell me if I stupid and I did something totally wrong. I made my conclusion upon a Vmware install, so I'm not sure that it is not working in a real install, although I made a real install earlier (with only few of these programs) and it gave me an error (something about line 247access denied ) and it had some strange behavior (I won't give mroe details for now, because I hope all this is because of my first problem). BTW, this config.js was made for wpi 4.2b. And one more thing: I noticed that if I edit my config.js like this %programfiles%\blah it is automatically converted to %programfiles%\\blah But I don't want it that way, because it is really simple: %programfiles% has already a backslash I can make a secondary variable like %prog%="C:\Program Files", with no slash... but I was wondering just how to disable that feature of WPI (is it function WPIPath()?). config.js
  4. edited my first post... it was 4.0 I attached a screenshot of the transfer screen.
  5. Hi all... I am using Xpize 4.0 but I see the old animation when I transfer files to or from my phone. Is it happening only on my computer or that resource is not patched by xpize? If it was supposed to be the old one, can you Xpero do something about it? EDIT: I must be stupid ... I mean 4.0 MCE Final (not 1.0) ....
  6. First, I wanna say this is great app... It misses some files, but hey those are 10, not 1000! Anyway, want I want to ask fot is a version for Microsoft Visio (2003). Is it possible? cause I really think its setup is pretty much the same thing with the office setup ... Correct me if I'm wrong And, if it is possible, will it be implemented? It would be awesome to have a complete suite of "xxx_shrinkers" for all miscrosoft office products (visio, project, onenote) ... until then all I ask for is the visio version. Please post back if you do have some spare time to work further at this project. Sorry my English, I'm just dizzy right now.

    XPize 4.0 MCE RC

I have another question, not a bug this time When I install Xpize 4.0 MCE RC in Vmware I get a "Can't save the bmp" or something like that and my desktop remains dark blue. When I install on a real computer everything is just fine. I'm just curious why I get that weird thing...
  8. Thanks for the hint about the "snapshot". Never thought about that 'cause I use VPC just once in a while. But there are many more things that MS should fix at VPC (hmm.. my processor at 100%, that doesn't happen with Vmware).
  9. yeah, the audio is better in vpc, but it has such a lack of options .... I mean I want a snapshot option in vpc ! and of course vmware is easier to use. at least that is what is think.
  10. Hm... I just wanted to know what you guys are using atm. I definately go for Vmware, since I believe Virtual PC is crap (although I have to use it sometimes) If your option is not listed (maybe a new program or one I never heard about), post here and I will be happy to try it too.

    XPize 4.0 MCE RC

@larciel: the dll causing that error was already patched by the old version. You don't need to start over with a new install unless you want to get rid of the old version (but I think that is what you really want, isn't it?). If it is not, replace the dll causing the error with the original one. (I can't remember his name, but you cand find it on this forum). B)
  12. It works with /s too, never tried with /Q. If anybody tries, please post here the result. B)

    XPize 4.0 MCE RC

Thank you very much !! The switches are just great ... Gonna install it tonight! XPize is just getting better and better.
  14. hmmm... not /S but /s ... (that works for me anyway ... /S should too) and I see no error in your script .... I mean mine is pretty much the same but for cmd1[pn]=['%CDROM%\\Install\\ymess.exe /s'] BTW: WPI puts its entries in the runonceex section of the registry, so no need for the "start /wait" thing...
  15. Program: Cheating-death 4.32.0 (and older, I think) Version: 1.0
  16. Program: Kaspersky Antivirus Pro 5.0.383 (I know about the /S switch ... don't blame me for not liking it) What is this scipt doing: it covers ANY configuration possible during setup ... path to install to ... username, company and more Script Version: 1.0 Target: For people who don't like the defaults given by the /S switch PS: edit it to your needs
  17. yes it works for wpi too.... and I must say that is the right switch for 7.0.437 too... I tried it and it works, so enjoy!
  18. Xpize 4.0 Beta 2 (XP SP2) I recently observed that my start menu's sidebar went black ... I think it really is a XPize bug because I know somebody else who encountered this problem .... please XPero take a look at that BTW I think you guys realised I'm talking about a classic start menu
  19. Autoit script for what I asked (if anybody else wants)
  20. Program: XPize MCE Beta 2 Script version: 1.0 How to use: Rename your Xpize installer to XPize.exe and place in the same directory with the autoit script. Different from the /S switch: NO Restore Point and no Uxtheme patch EDIT: RENAMED xpize.au3 to xpize_.au3 (nothing else different from the original.... duh i thought you will think at that)
  21. I've posted something similar, but the topic was closed. So I post here again: it would be great to have a Xpize without restore point creation (I mean not selected "Create restore point" by default). The /S switch works cool, but that error is very annoying!! (BTW no need for restore, system restore being disabled). @XPero, if you can modify the installer of version 4, not the latest or anything like that, just that installer with this minor modification (and UXtheme Patch unchecked, if you are so kind, so now there are 2), I beg you to do it.... And yet another error which I could not track down: sometimes I get an error "CannotSaveToBmp" -> mce.bmp is created, but it is empty or corrupted. Anyway that happens only sometimes.
  22. thanks... i already have installed xpize 4 and yes, i do love the extras... i was wondering: will you release a version of xpize uae with the extras included? that would be great, but i know it's a little bit harder to implement. anyway, great work
  23. First of all, i want to say hi to everybody. Btw, great package ... I am making an unattended WinXP CD and I wonder if there is any way to install Xpize 4 Beta 2 together with windows. I am not looking for a pre-install like Xpize 2.0 does (not before burning the CD), but for an unattended install, so it can run at the first login. I tried Xpize 2.0 and I like it very musch, but 4.0 rocks ... I am using it on my computer and I recommended it to others too. I just hope you guys can help, 'cause that installer is such a biatch ... it doesn't allow me to give any parameters...
