  1. lol...thx anyway...like i said, got it working with diskemu or something....
  2. Ok, a while ago, i found a command on this site (i think) that would list all the files in a single directory and then output them to a TXT file... im setting up a new Unattended install, and need t do the updates, im using the SVCPACK method... does anyone know wat it is??? i tried searching, but came up with nada
  3. i rest my case........... this is a WINDOWS ME Boot disk...not a boot disk to install windows ME... goto http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm and download the WINDOWS ME OEM Bootdisk, and use that with memdisk...it WON'T work....
  4. its ok..i used the DISKEMU command, and that seemed to work fine thx anyways!
  5. hmm...didn't help i still get the exact same thing...
  6. the easiest way (IMO) is to just google the specific extension... unfourtunetly, you actually have to know yourself wat program to assign....99% of the time, if you have the program installed then it will automatically assign itself to that file... like a PDF file...if you have Acrobat reader installed, it will automatically try to open all pdf files with acrobat reader...
  7. ahhhhhh cool, thx for that...will give it a shot!
  8. Ok, i have put Windows ME boot disk IMA onto my Multi Boot DVD... when i try and run it in VMWare, i get a "The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system. You will need to power off or reset the virtual machine at this point." error message...i thought it might just be a weird thing with VMWare, so i burnt it onto a DVD, and the computer just locks up at the same stage... my thinking is that its a problem with memdisk?? anyone seen this before??
  9. Ok, i have created a Unattended install for WinXP Home.. but i DO NOT want to put in the CD Key into the winnt.sif file... now it comes up with this error about "System admin or OEM did not supply some information. Please provide it now and the Unattended install will continue" (thats not the EXACT error, but it is similar) is there anyway i can get rid of it???
  10. i really don't think it will make a difference... 1024x768 on Win98 is going to look the same as 1024x768 on WinXP... there really isn't much you can do with TVs...ever wonder why a 21" Monitor was so expensive compared to a normal TV of the same size??? the Computer Monitors are much higher quality in terms of the picture they display... I have a MCE PC, which i was running a 50cm TV...for watching digital TV and stuff, it was fine...(well, mostly) but in Windows, it was terrible!!!! a few days ago i got myself a 32" WideScreen LCD TV...looks perfect now, both watching TV and in Windows (although, i didn't realise how poor quality DVDs actually were )
  11. you may not need to do a fresh install... i've found with many 98SE/ME problems, you can just do an install over the top, and it'll fix it up... sorta like the WinXP repair... however, it doesn't always work...its a thought...
  12. You don't have to do anything differently for SP2 (well, i didn't) and i just downloaded HIS cdshell.ini file instead of creating my own...it works fine if you follow his instructions and have the same directory structure and WHEN exactly does it come up with teh NTLDR error??? when you boot off the CD/DVD or when you try to run windows... and have you done all the OSes at the one time??? like he said in his walkthrough...its better to do one OS, then test it, when it 100% works, move onto the next one...
  13. ok,i admint, i don't know much about these multi-boot disks and stuff... maybe if you change the txtsetup.sif to be something like txt1.sif txt2.sif and txt3.sif, for each respecting Windows copies and then go into the setupldr.bin file using a hex editor and change all the txtsetup.sif to the corrosponding new files... just an idea, havn't put it to work yet, but i am semi interested to see if it works as i may need to the same thing... and, have a look through your boot directory, there may be other files that need hexediting
  14. cool, thanks for that im one step closer to having my Multi-boot cd finished!!!
  15. Hey all, my Multi-boot CD is well on its way...(XP HOME/PRO, WIn98SE, WinME..soon to add unattended installs) anyway, i've added a few apps from UBCD...Seagate/WD tools and Memtest+... but, the Memtest+ version of the UBCD is 1.55, they are up to 1.65 now, and i would like the most recent on my CD...i downloaded it, but its in a BIN format... how can i convert it to IMA or IGZ...or is there a way to use it as a BIN file, im using CD SHELL...
  16. Are you using the guide from http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/ to do it??? if so, download his 98se.ima file and try using that
  17. ok, fixed THAT problem... while i do appriciate the time and effort going into tutorials like the one i mentioned...it raelly annoys me when things are left out.. like, the tutorial doesn't say anything about the "loader.bin" or "cdsh.bin" files which i am somehow just supposed to know about???? similar thing happened with the Unattended WinXP CD...the Tutorial gave me the wrong folder to put a file in...... anyways, now the cdshell.ini file that i downloaded is coming up with errors...stuff like "cls - command not found" so, i assume they are from different versions......
  18. well, magic ISO says its BOOTABLE...so, looks like i've done SOMETHING wrong...but even if i didn't edit the DAT files and stuff correcty, it should have the error AFTER i select the OS to install...this won't even get to the cdshell menu... maybe the loader.bin and cdshell.ini are from different versions???
  19. Ok, im workign on creating a multi-boot DVD...i have made one using the tutorial at http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/ i have made it with Win XP Home to begin with... i use this command line to create the ISO cdimage.exe -lAIODVD -t08/23/2001,09:00:00 -b\AIO-DVD\BOOT\loader.bin -h -n -o -m \AIO-DVD C:\AIODVD.iso i am using cdshell, i downloaded the .ini file from the http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/ website and i am using the loader.bin file that came with cdshell... the ISO, is made fine, but when i use VMware to test it, i get the "error booting from CD/DVD drive" i had a look on the forum...the only solution for it i found was to do with putting the cdshell.inin and loader.bin files in the BOOT directory...however, mine are already there.... any ideas???
  20. ok, i have created a 7ZIP self extracting archive with all my application installs that i want on my unattended setup. which to you think is better... copy the file onto the HDD, then unzip it, then install the programs or extract the archive to the HDD which its still on the DVD... i think it is best to extract it directly from the DVD...but just want a few more opinions...
  21. yeah...i just said...when i use it, it wants me to activate windows as soon as i log into windows...and i obviously don't want to activate a VPC!
  22. yeah...but it still means i have to install windows from scratch...AND, for some weird reason, the last few times i tried doing it, windows wanted me to activate straight away, before i could get into windows...so, not sure why...
  23. The Cyberlink DVD solutions is the software that comes with the LG4163 and LG4167 DVD Burners...it includes NERO, PowerDVD, PowerProducer, Acrobat Reader and InCD all in one... i have put the "silent=1" into the custom.ini file which is in the same directory as the setup.exe file for the main program...so, i assume it is in the correct place...i just need to test it...prob is, i can't do it on my PC, cause it'll prolly screw up all my software
  24. hey, thx for the reply both of you @MAVERICKS CHOICE, yeah, i did a search, but for the Cyberlink DVD solutions...not Power DVD...i would rather do it as a single install rather then 5 different entries... @BoardBabe, is that to get Power DVD working? or the CyberLink DVD Solutions??
  25. Hi, i have the LG 4163 DVD Burner, and would like the software for it to install silently when i install my unattended windows... but i am unable to get it to install...i got nero to install by itself using a "/silent" switch...but Power DVD won't work like that (has an error message when i run it sepatatly...) so, anyone know how to get it to install silently (the whole CD...)??? i also tried the "/?" switch, and didn't get anything...
