  1. Actually, it isn't possible the way I imagined it back when dziubek asked for it. All HFSLIP does now is record the start time, record the end time, then calculate the difference. Pretty "basic", hehe... I'll try to figure out the most sensible way to do this. But the main thing is that all other changes implemented in the recent test releases should work fine as I'd like to release a new final. After that, I may give x64 a shot and maybe even .NET 2.0. Personally, I don't care which way it is represented. What do other people think?
  2. The actual reason this didn't work is because HFSLIP didn't allow Type 2 hotfixes to be parsed when there are no Type 1 hotfixes. I've changed that in the latest test release (60429d). Feel free to give it a shot...
  3. Thanks. Working on it.
  4. Be careful what you ask for 'cause you just might get it... Hint: It's *NOT* displayed in HFSLIP.LOG....
  5. There's still a variable too much... I'll see what I can do...
  6. I'm probably too late as usual, but you could've went ("could've gone" in other Commonwealth areas) with IE5 since that'll give you a slightly better performance. You aren't using IE otherwise on that box so it would've been a better alternative.
  7. That's right. HFSLIP registers the Windows Update files (among other things) AFTER the SYSOC addons are installed. If something goes wrong with an addon, things are likely to go bad with subsequent addons, WU, and registration of other files.
  8. Duplicate file names would be a show stopper. I don't intend to use CABs anymore because some people seem to be using an alternate version of expand.exe. It's not worth the trouble in that case. @spazmire11: That's more or less what I had in mind.
  9. I think HFSLIP can be made to handle this in various ways; it just depends on how flexible it needs to be. BTW... There's an error on that page you're linking to. "DEFAULT USER" is NOT "MeinName". Windows setup normally cannot even know what your name is before you get to the post-install wizard. I don't know off hand, but "Default User" is called "Default User" in German too (it's not translated on Dutch versions of Windows). Its purpose is to copy everything you put there into any newly created user profile (including "MeinName").
  10. I suppose you're talking about Win2K... There's a standalone installer of IE6SP1 but whether it will work depends on whether it replaces ALL IE-related files. If it doesn't, IE5.01 will have to be applied first. And what about removed files and registry entries that IE depends on? What I'd do is a repair install with an HFSLIPped CD that still has IE but maybe TommyP or FDV know of something else you can try.
  11. @dziubek... I need the TXTSETUP.SIF and SYSOC.INF from the "bad" install. If everything is fine in those files, the only solution is that you try to find out which addon is causing the issue because the only thing HFSLIP can do is obey what's defined in the addons configuration file (just like nLite). If the problem addon is localized I can maybe try to find a workaround (just like for the one for CDImage).
  12. It looks like the switches aren't recognized (they aren't there in SVCPACK.INF). Can you copy & paste the following into HFTOOLS\XPIZE.TXT? XPIZESW=/S /notask It works for me...
  13. Then I guessed right. Support for it was added yesterday...
  14. Thanks. There's a new version again...
  15. If you have the time... Would you mind removing the following line from HFSLIP.CMD in SOURCESS\I386\SVCPACK and install again?%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\wgatray.exe /b I'm still not sure if it's required but I'm gonna keep it in for now. No rush... It's not listed as an update on WU for Win2K so I guess it's only available for XP (for now)...
  16. If you think Win2K is slow at booting up because of the networking then you should install it on an Athlon64 X2 and set it up as "ACPI Multiprocessor PC" (preferably by pressing F5 during Windows setup)...
  17. @Kiki: 60427b supports KB888111...
  18. KB888111 isn't supported at the moment. I'll take a look at the files for 2K and XP tomorrow. If anyone can tell me what the name of the subdir is for 2K3 I can add support for it as well. If SVCPACK.INF in SOURCESS\I386 contains at least "XPIZE.EXE /S", then it can only mean two things:- there's a general problem with the XPize executable (which version are you using?) - XPize cannot be installed at T-13
  19. They are not supported. I was also unable to find any command line information to install these packs.
  20. You can try test release 60426b for the "You are running a legit copy of Windows. The Microsoft Desktop Team thanks you wholehartedly. Please take the time to complete our servey so we can improve our user-friendly customer support even more (no information will be sent to Microsoft). We do listen!" notification...
  21. Thanks. It isn't supported as far as I can see. There are two new binaries, and I wonder if the second line in the [ProcessesToRun] section of update.inf is of any importance.
  22. The WGAN is apparantly not available from the WU Catalog site. Anyone got the download link from WindowsUpdate.log?
  23. I don't know where the reduction files are. Someone else that uses it should be able to help you. Yes; the link to the newest version is always to be found in the main post of this thread.... BTW... Some hotfixes have been re-released. I've updated my lists...
  24. @ThunderM: Thanks. I forgot about that... @Kiki: Try 60426a.
  25. I just woke up... It's 6:30am here...
