  1. I use OpenDNS on my router and have a small list of some of the AD domains but, is there anywhere I can go to get a complete list or does anyone know them all?
  2. Audio the only generic thing I need to replace then?
  3. Upon installing 7 I have been using the default audio drivers and recently went to Toshiba's website and got the ones they posted. Before: System Information report written at: 10/13/09 22:40:24 System Name: AARON-LAPTOP [sound Device] Item Value Name High Definition Audio Device Manufacturer Microsoft Status OK PNP Device ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0268&SUBSYS_1179FF66&REV_1000\4&B8B5DF1&0&0001 Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\hdaudio.sys (6.1.7600.16385, 342.00 KB (350,208 bytes), 7/13/2009 8:07 PM) After: System Information report written at: 10/13/09 22:49:57 System Name: AARON-LAPTOP [sound Device] Item Value Name Realtek High Definition Audio Manufacturer Realtek Status OK PNP Device ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0268&SUBSYS_1179FF66&REV_1000\4&B8B5DF1&0&0001 Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\rtkvhd64.sys (6.0.1.5904, 1.88 MB (1,966,624 bytes), 10/13/2009 10:44 PM) So which ones are better to stick with? The Toshiba one did enable the ability of Stereo Mix in the recording devices which I am happy to have back. Also brings up the note of my display driver, it says it is Driver Version 8.15.10.1872, but on Toshiba's site it says 8.15.10.1808. Did Windows Update give me a generic display driver? How do I know? 4. Hard to imagine Microsoft did something that amazing. But I'll give it a shot.
  5. Just reinstalled Windows on a friends machine. Can I use this as a replacement for antivirus software?
  6. The screenshot posted above is all I see currently, debating whether or not to install the driver from Toshiba.
  7. No because it was a beta thing from Toshiba and sound worked fine upon install. I bet its on there >_>
  8. Good to know because I will be using this program soon.
  9. What profanities do I need to yell at the drivers to make them support it?
  10. There was Vista Home Premium on here before where it did show. I formatted and put on 7 Professional, now it does not appear. And yes, I checked Show Disconnected Devices & Show Disabled Devices.
  11. As you can see, wave out mix is not there. I knew where to go...
  12. I use to be able to record audio coming in using the feature, but it is not present now.
  13. Basically I get that every time I try to connect to the network at school. I guess it restarts itself because I get connected later on. Is it having an issue because this school uses WPA Enterprise security and it can't find an IP right away? It doesn't do this at home.
  14. I went to http://download.cnet.com/Media-Player-Clas....html?tag=mncol to try and find Media Player Classic and the URL I posted downloads me a .exe file. But on other websites I can download Media Player Classic w/o installing it. As soon as the .exe appeared on my desktop Comodo Internet Security said there was a virus. False Positive? I ran a scan with Comodo after deleting it and deleting my system restore data and found nothing. I also scanned with http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
  15. Removed unused modem card, disabled floppy, NIC, audio in BIOS. Problem fixed.
  16. It will get to Installing Devices and stop. One thing I did was hold the power button down until it shut off, and once it turned back on the setup resumed and the install completed. Is this copy of XP corrupt now that I had to power it off like that? I think it may be the hard drive going bad, is there any utilities someone knows of that I can test on here to tell? Or maybe you know why its stalling only at Installing Devices?

Wait for a Mod to post.
  18. Eh they didn't work when I put em in but I will try others..
  19. Ok I got this old computer for $75 and it came with a DVD drive. The front of it says "DVD Multi Player" However in XP it only shows to read CD's. The computer came from the state and they reinstalled the OS on it. So what can I do to get this to read some DVD's?
  20. Anything that you recommend to use to remove these? This is an Acer laptop. Do they put backup partitions on these to restore the OS or did you have to create it on a disc when you would buy the system?
  21. Ok I will be fixing this persons laptop in a few days and I wanted you all to take a peak at this Please see attachment logfile.txt
  22. Well the virus or whatever it was really messed up his PC. He doesn't have the install disc so I gave him Linux (Ubuntu) and he likes that and is happy. Thanks everyone!
  23. I see on http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/PC_Cleanup it says The following items should not be checked. * "Memory Dumps" * "Windows Log Files" * "Old Prefetch Data" * "Hotfix Uninstallers" As long as I have those unchecked this program is fine to use?
