  1. In need of a new router. Anyone know anything that is decent that doesn't get too hot etc? Cisco? Is there anything to repeat the signal or would I have to buy 2 of the same router to do so? Thanks.
  2. It seems turning off hardware acceleration fixed this. Not sure why it caused it..
  3. So basically I was playing around and customizing the toolbars etc when my font got messed up (see image). If I start firefox in safemode, it looks fine. If I run it normally, it looks smaller. I don't know how to increase it... And I already uninstalled it before.

  8. I just want one backup. I assume doing it with only one partition means using a boot CD? or USB drive? What program would do that?
  9. Simple question. I just reinstalled Windows 7 and I want to save a copy of it so incase something happens later on, I can restore the image instead of reinstalling all over again. What is the best software to do this and what do I need to do? Do I need to make another partition with windows on in order to restore the Windows 7 image I want to make? Or can you restore an image from an active partiton?
  10. http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=821491&st=0 http://www.contrapositivediary.com/?p=1952 http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/29/skype-taken-to-task-by-angry-users-over-claimed-crapware-payload/ I just reinstalled Windows 7 because I didn't want this crap on here. What happened was when I had Skype running, this software put itself on my desktop without prompting me at all. Even if you deny it, it still will install. There has been no news from Skype besides Moderators on that discussion post. So what do you think? Is this legit, or a huge threat that millions of people have on their machines now?
  11. Say I am hardwired to one internet, but wireless to a completely different one, is there a way to make some programs run on the cabled internet and some on wireless?
  12. I want to be able to plug my landline telephone cable into my Laptop and answer calls/make calls on the computer using the landline phone. Is there any software that will do this?
  13. I can't seem to view shared folders on either systems. I can't see the Mac on Windows 7, and the Mac says Windows 7 doesn't have "guest access" turned on, but I have everything turned on in the networking settings (network discovery, etc). This happened when I reinstalled 7, but I didn't do anything different, the last time I reinstalled 7 I did nothing and it just worked, now it does not. I even added the Workgroup name on the Mac networking prefs..
  14. Is there any way to resize any program window to make it smaller but still function normally? Like for example to make the browser I'm typing in look small like this: As in....to actually have it that small. I wanted to do it for a game and make it smaller than the actual size it is.
  15. The problem I have is that: 1. Can't get internet to work over the VPN (going to websites) 2. Can't get more than one person to connect. Help?
  16. I just installed Server 2003 Enterprise R2 and I was wondering if anyone knew how to get a VPN on here so I can have multiple people connect. I only have 1 network card installed so when I try to do it this one way it tells me I need two so how do I go about doing this? Thanks.
  17. I know how to use a proxy. How do I make /my/ home internet as the proxy for when I am on another and want to make it appear to be on my internet on the game?
  18. I play a game and logs your IP you last logged in from. Just being curious I was wondering if there was a way I could connect to my home network then connect to the game to make it appear I'm logging in from my home network while on a different one entirely?
  19. I know how to use the shutdown command..... I want to remote shutdown other machines on the network.... read my original post....
  20. Hi I wanted to use the command line to remote shutdown my machines in my house here. The problem is that I keep getting Access Denied. What I have tried: I tried going into Local Security Policy and adding the names of the systems in the workgroup, but when I hit APPLY, it saves it Failed to Save. So what gives? Also, there is no Local Security Policy that I can find in Windows XP Home. OS's: Xp, 7
  21. When you issue the shutdown command, will it kill all processes?
  22. If I wanted to leave my computer on for a few hours then have it close all its programs and shutdown how would I do so? EDIT: Possible to have it do all this after a certain amount of time?
