  1. Well aware, but why would it trace back to it at the last one? The ping doesn't go back there does it? Not all the servers do that.
  2. So a game I play has a server that says it's hosted in "United States (West Coast)". But when I do a tracert to it, it jumps from the West Coast to the United Kingdom at the last trace, why is this? I know it must be hosted where they say it is because I get a decent ping. But I was always wondering why it jumps back like that. Microsoft Windows [Version 6.3.9600](c) 2013 Microsoft Corporation. 3. No it failed to create one. It was caused by steel series software. Just solved it.
  4. Windows 8 Pro 64-bit with Media Center. When I install the 8.1 upgrade it gets stuck at 84% then 85% and goes to a black screen and then BSOD's to DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.... Side note: The family PC that DOESN'T have media center installed 8.1 fine.
  5. So you think I should avoid using sleep mode then huh?
  6. Well I don't know then. There's no way to keep the room cool for the equipment.... What if I turn on AC before the computer? Or just get a UPS for the computer to maintain a steady voltage? What UPS to get?
  7. Then why you asked? That's good. Measured HOW exactly? Oscilloscope, voltage recorder or multimeter? jaclaz Multimeter.
  8. One says its okay, one says it's not ... Which is it? I read elsewhere that "Since all computers are equipped with very good switch mode power supplies, these power supplies can easily compensate for a dip in the AC voltage. Therefore your computer won't be damaged." It never turns off any equipment. The voltage of the room is 118VAC and when I turned the Air on Cool mode it dipped to 110-114 then back to 116 and is currently at 115ish and hanging around there.
  9. If I have my air conditioner in the same room as my PC, when it kicks in it makes the lights flicker (voltage loss?). Is that harmful for my PC and other devices plugged in inside the same room? AC is on its own outlet and PC and other things are on the other side of the room (plugged into surge protectors).
  10. I didn't find any for it on their website but I emailed them to ask.

  12. Okay give me a few to do that.
  13. Wasn't really doing anything had a game up and chrome and was afk and it randomly crashed. 14. Just turned on the computer and when W8 boots and puts you at the tile interface it kept doing this thing where it would look like all the tiles would disappear and reload like it does when you turn on your computer, but it kept doing that over and over in what looked like a refresh loop. Here's what I had done recently to the computer in order: - Installed Breaking News app [Yesterday] - Enabled Weather.com app to run in background [Few days ago] - Changed HDD power setting to turn off after minimal use [Week ago] - Put in an SSD as main boot drive [Weeks ago] All I did after the refresh loop was reinstall the breaking news app, disable weather.com from giving important weather information in background, as well as boot into the OS on the old HDD and restart the computer a few times and it stopped doing that. But I'm curious as to why, if anyone knows?
  15. Thanks. I think I might buy a molex to usb adapter cable and plug it into a fan and put it near some vents for fun and see what it does.
  16. Do they have any such thing? like putting fans outside of the tower case that plug into a wall outlet or some sort? Or maybe a usb to 3 pin adapter or something?
  17. It was what it was connected at the time its not like that now. Had pc off, xbox on, turned on for a second, heard buzz noise, turned off and unplugged.
  18. Both plugged into outlet but neither computer or xbox powered on. What would be damaged if both turned on, the speaker?
  19. Computer plugged into speakers + xbox plugged into same speakers which makes a buzz noise as soon as I turned speakers on and immediately turned off. Is that what a ground loop is? Would that cause any damage to anything from being on for a few seconds?
  20. What do I do? I accidently ran optimize a few times on the SSD. Should I turn it on or leave it off? Did I hurt anything if it's bad? My guess is that it uses TRIM, etc and it's actually not bad? EDIT: Sorry for spamming with dumb thread, found my answer www.nextofwindows.com/defragging-hard-disk-in-windows-8
  21. When I download the beta on each site they say MSIAfterburnerSetup300Beta9-[Guru3D.com] MSIAfterburnerSetup300Beta9 Are these the same? What's the difference from guru3d? And do you recommend me to get the beta or the stable release?
