I would like to see Google and MSFN search option when you right click in nlite, please .
It's needed in Remove Components mostly, not all removable components have the needed info

I have had this before also.
I remember it was a registry cleaner that made this for me.
But I can't remember which one though!
If you use any I recommend
Registry First Aid
http://www.rosecitysoftware.com/reg1aid/
and
CM DiskCleaner

control userpasswords2 in run
TweakUI
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx
Autologon
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Autologon.html
All these 3 works

Hope the new version comes soon

nuhi, is it possible to have a direct integration for directx_aug2006_redist.exe in some future release of nLite?
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...E7-CC576822AED4
Like the direct integration of the Service Packs?
Check the text in the link:
Overview
This package is localized into ..............
Sure this must mean that just the install is in different languages but the package is multi-languaged
I think this is the case, I checked Sereby's DirectX addon and found that all the files are identical (English (USA)) as on my swedish XP.
I tried the DirectX addon and it worked with no problems at all!
Sereby also told me if MS releases a new DirectX he will name it multi-languaged, and ofcourse if the files are English (USA).
Sereby's DirectX addon is a direct integration, replaces the old files with the new, exactly as on slipstreaming service packs.
I recommend this instead of the silent install DirectX addons (silent is a waste of space, only makes XP Image file larger)!

Can anyone tell me if it is WIA or Video Capture (or both) thats required for webcams?
When searching the forum for Video Capture I get a lot of webcam problems posts but all I've seen so far have also removed WIA.

Strange, should work when enabled in TweakUI and the servie Shell Hardware Detection set start with windows.
At least there are some nice tweaks there
Maybe you needed to restart

I had similar problem before
But later when I got nlite workin, I integrated all the hotfixes with nlite and on the new nLited XP it worked perfectly
I'm sure I'm not the only one getting weird problems when installing hotfixes, for this reason only I am only integrating new hotfixes on a fresh XP.

Doesn't TweakUI offer this tweak also, or am I out of line ?
TweakUI
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx
TweakUI\My Computer\AutoPlay\Types
Also the service ShellHardwareDetection is required for this to work!

I think it's safe to remove win messenger for remote assistance
don't have any answers for your question exactly but you can totally remove win messenger 4 and 5.1.
Uninstall Windows Messenger 4
Uninstall windows messenger on Run:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Uninstall Windows Messenger 5.1
Search for the Windows Messenger 5.1 icon in C:\WINDOWS\Installer
Type in run msiexec /x "the full name of the folder"
ex:
msiexec /x {9D1C26BD-E792-4159-9D16-07EA222D8EF0}
I had this, maybe different for english or other languages.....

Ok it is either 16bit support or USB Audio Support
Included both in this new install and it worked.

minigun, I prefer to keep things were they should be
englishmen, you can create 3 bat files, like this:
Just make a new txt file and rename the file extension to bat.
1
ipconfig/all
pause
2
ipconfig/release
3
ipconfig/renew
Most of us need only 1.
if you didn't know......

check your XP CD for the folder I386 and in it you will find IPCONFIG.EX_
You can extract it with 7zip.
Edit:
Allmost forgot, you need to copy it to system32 folder

Must be 16bit support or the patch for old software I removed, if only Win9x need drivers.

It is a removable drive but still the UMS drivers come with it.
Know about 7z, here is how it looks.
But the drivers ain't the issue, never needed to install the drivers before.
Normally U2 is detected automatically but why not on this custom WinXP, I have no clue.
---
I think you should buy U3 if you need lossless (FLAC) support and high output.
Good for headphones, for ex Philips SHP895.
I myself have Philips SHP895 but use it mostly on PC.
Buy U2 if you use earphones, has also OGG support.
Before my U2 I had another U2 which stop workin for me.
But thats because I "abused" it, traveled and moved around to much at that time.
Had it for 1 week in -35 C in the woods and I had it about +2 years.
Really good player!
btw, do not use OGG in high bitrate (if you do), for high bitrate mp3 is better.
Latest lame encoder:
LAME 3.97 beta 2

hehe, I thought I removed a lot
I used the original M.S hotfixes, can't use a pack coz my WInXP is Swedish.
I have also the original drivers for iAudio U2 but as I said they wont install.
I probably removed support for this type of hardware but I do not know which one.

only integrated latest hotfixes, nothing else.

ye it is mass storage device, UMS.
U2 does not require special drivers and Plug and Play should do it.
Do not know why but on this nLited XP it just does not work.
Must be something I've removed.

Can not install MP3 player driver for iAudio U2.
When the install driver window comes up I can not install it because Windows can not find the driver.
Even if I select the drivers it's the same, can not recognize the drivers.
On former nLited WinXP it always worked.
Couldn't find anything in my Last Session settings, hope someone else does
Thanx in advance!

A few months ago nuhi told me to create a post about this.
I have waited all this time coz I thought the bug would be corrected.
Tried to change profile folder to something else than Documents and Settings and it never worked.
This has never worked for me.
ProfilesDir = "C:\User ProfilesDir"
ProfilesDir = "%SystemDrive%\User ProfilesDir"
ProfilesDir = "%SystemRoot%\User ProfilesDir"
Got this of nuhi and I tried them all, no one worked.
All the times I tried I had integrated the latest hotfixes before trying it.
Is there any file of my XP setup I can send to someone to see what the problem is?

Can't someone make a addon that is directly integrated?
With this one you get +50MB.
I mean as a hotfix when direct integration works!
