1. I told him because I had posted in that topic on how to install both Intellitype and Intellipoint with the correct switches. Then again even I may have been rude in my previous post, but just because you have a higher post count doesnt necessarily mean you shouldn't use the search function.
2. and please don't come here with your excuses like "i didn't know about it", and yes i KNOW the differences between "Intellipoint" and "Intellitype" Did you even bother reading what I typed? Only the first sentence was directed at you. The next time please read before you comment!
3. @Simonsays - Its not as easy as what you think. @mtk - this topic has been covered indepth in a previous post. Please do a search before you make a new post on an existing topic. And please dont come up with an excuse that you did a search and came up with nothing or didn't know what keywords to use, because "Intellipoint" or "Intellitype" brings up the correct topic
4. The ide drives are disabled and the boot order is also changed when I am installing windows on my SATA Raid array.
5. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...&hl=Pure+Chrome I used this one which is a slight variation to the one state here. Anyway I got it working with this method too. So basically I have sata drivers slipstreamed working with 3 different methods. But neither method lets me install xpsp2 unattended on a raid 0 setup on a si3112r raid setup %#$^%^$%. However I am easily able to install windows on a single SATA drive off the si3112r chipset.
6. Update..... Finally managed to get Textmode working using a slightly different method than the one posted above. The CD boots and finds my Raptors and then the installation goes thru without a hitch all the way....not really! All files get copied over and on the first reboot get that stupid message "Disk Read Error. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to Reboot.
7. Actually I have mine in the windows folders too. I have replaced Notepad with Metapad and done the whole rename......modifype...blah blah blah.
8. You will have to change the files in the sp2.cab and the driver.cab in order to completely change the boot screen to your customized one. I have my my boot screen running without any oemkrnl.exe in the boot.ini
9. I have been using this for past few months and never once had a problem. Why would I start having problems all of a sudden?

11. I keep getting an error saying: The Manufacturer provided file that setup is trying to use is corrupted or invalid: Line1 contains a syntax error. I even deleted the txtsetup.oem file from the iso and tried installing xp and still end up getting the same error. I am literally banging my head on the wall trying to figure out what the hell this error means and which file it is talking about. Edit.....an update I deleted winnt.sif from I386 and it went through without an hitch. Trying to sort out my winnt.sif file now.
12. Installshield apps need to create a log file. Hence some of them wont run from the cd. This is what you need to do as long as the setup.iss file is in the same directory as the setup.exe. setup.exe -s -f2%systemdrive%\xxxxxx.log This will create a log file for that app in your systemdrive (C:\ or whichever). You can customize the path to wherever you wanna put it, after the %systemdrive%\. You can cleanup this log files later when you are finishing off your installation.
13. Use the &*$%@#$ SEARCH function. There is big registry tweaks thread just a few posts down this one.
14. Its a pain to scroll through all those small words.
15. And BTW.....Why in the first place do you want to install Quicktime. Nothing but a bloated piece of software. I would seriously consider installing Quicktime Alternative over Quicktime.
16. taskkill.exe /F /IM explorer.exe wOOt......100 posts!!!
17. Nah! Not as much as I used to. Too many **** 13 year olds with single digit IQ's running wild over there. @Simonsays - Nice guide. Will keep as a reference when I decide to move over to Firefox. IE is still my preferred browser.
18. Nope that doesn't work. SAV does not finish the install in that case.
19. LMAO! Don't count on it.
20. Excellent work Mazin! That did the trick.

22. thanks for pointing out that one m8. Don't know how I missed it! This works for me: ACE\xxxxxxxxx.msi /QR REB0OT=REALLYSUPPRESS
23. Make sure to copy over pskill.exe to your system32 folder during your unattended setup. Otherwise you will need to specify the path for pskill in your runonceex file. The command is the same for all types of installation. <Path> pskill.exe <app> PSKILL.EXE
24. ATI has changed the way for the Control Center install. I am able to install using the standard .iss switches all the way till the part where it prompts for the reboot option. The problem is that this reboot screen is not part of the standard Installshield application. I tried several different options and none of them seem to work for this particular screen. Ultimately the only way I found to get around this was to use the PSKill/Taskkill command . So here goes Setup.iss (make a text file and copy/paste the following in it and rename it to setup.iss) the run setup.exe -s -f1 setup.iss Finally use (I prefer PSKill) PSKill.exe aticim.bin ....to finish off your installation. BPP
25. But how can it be different in a batch and from a command line? I will however try calling it later today from a batch file.
