if you are going for 8.5, i suggest you to install v9 beta which is already available in download sites which is a full download and installs silently.
best way is, arrange the quicklaunch with thatever links you want there and export the below regs and apply during install. This is one of very very few successful way which works everytime. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects2]
is there a way to enable "internet connection sharing"-->"Enable other users to connect through this computer's internet connection" during uA install?
can you post direct link for WGA validation tool (892130). there are links in the forum for cab file or addon. but i need regular .exe file format. im already using it but there is latest version available.
there is now a latest build of ie7 that can be downloaded from micrsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en the RunOnceEx problem is corrected in this build and no need of any workarounds.
if you are installing IE7 through RunOnceEx, reboot is required for the hotfixes. I guess if installed through svcpack, system reboots to come to RunOnceEx, so the hotfixes can be installed using RunOnceEx.
to find temp directory, type %temp% or %tmp% in cmd prompt. will try imgburn. is it supporting bootable disks and multisession? i use ultraiso to create bootable disk.
after ie7 installed, restart is required to install the patches. my procedure is install ie7 in RunOnceEx, restart and install patches. i use this method since first ie7 patch was released. latest added post-ie7 hotfix : KB939653 (replaces KB937143)
ok from Gorki's screen, it seems it may not be possible to install through svcpack because there would be other files already installed and waiting for reboot. try installing through RunOnceEx. If it too doesnt work, from RunOnceEx, call another cmd file(ex:RunOnceEx2.cmd) which adds nero installation to RunOnceEx registry and call restart. so after restart, nero would install.
simply speaking, after installing ie7, restart and install the patch. if ie7 and its patches are installed together without restarting, it would not install. i just mentioned run2.cmd as the cmd file which installs the patches after restarting. u can give any name.
