  1. now as the next step, i added vista transformed files like shell32, explorer.exe etc etc and installed.(i didnt use nlite though) and saw the same old problem in gigabyte machines. now i see that even if im not using nlite, the problem comes up. another test i made is to integrate driverpacks. what happens is, during the first gui login, it shows the login window (msgina.dll)and says its loggin in and stays there for long and suddenly gives a small 'ok' dialog with no text even in titlebar or body except a question mark. i press 'ok' and it logs out and again logs in and same thing happens. i can never login successfully. this situation already seen with various gigabyte 845 machines.
  2. u have integrated KB931836. remove that and try.
  3. do u want this way : after executing runonceex during installtion, -->restart-->execute runonceex2. or after executing runonceex -->immediately call and execute runonceex2.
  4. i never install those updates, so its ok to ignore it. if u want to install those two patches, try to use RunOnceEx or GUIRunOnce
  5. the error popsup even during a fresh install where no previous installation was carried out. if nero was previously installed, directx would have already been updated and this problem wouldnt have come at all. thats why i didnt get problem when i installed in my computer but with other computers, i saw the error. im testing the toto51+kyor's ideas and would post the result. im going to install in a freshly installed xp machine.
  6. try adding the following line to RunOnceEx.cmd after this line-(REG ADD %KEY%03 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\RunOnceEx2.cmd" /f) : REG ADD %KEY%3 /V 2 /D "rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess" /f. i dont know whether the way u r calling (the iernonce in many places in the same file) will work as u expected. if its not working, try to put each block in a separate cmd file and add the above line to each file accordingly.
  7. for so many months, i faced a problem when i install nlited xp in gigabyte 845 series motherboard machines. the display drivers, directx would never work and after installing xp, i would install the original display driver and i can able to select required resolution etc. but the refresh rate extremely bugs me even if i select any mode. for example, if i type something in notepad, each letter would take its own time to get displayed. i was wondering if its the problem with motherboard brand or the original drivers or the driverpack. so i eliminated all these stuffs and even then this problem persisted for al these months. i even had a continuous postings in the driverpack forums but no luck. just yesterday, i suddenly thought of doing a vanilla xp-unattended and fully patched. so i did all procedures manually and didnt use nlite. now i saw the display problem never popped up. i dont know whether nlite is having any part in this regard but the problem which was there for almost 1.5+ years vanished when i did all the procedures manually. till day before yesterday, i was using nlite just to integrate hotfixes and patch for tcp, unsigned themes and wfp. i get this problem only with gigabyte 845 series mobos and have tested, experienced in 30+ such mobos in variety of locations.
  8. integrating 928090 doesnt work since ie7 must be "up" when the patch is ready for installation. i dont know whether it is also doing some settings in the registry. i tried previously integrating it with nlite but it doesnt work.

  10. there MUST be a folder named as the same of the theme name like Resources\Themes\Royale.Theme Resources\Themes\Royale\ if it is not found ur themes wont work. The theme content is present in the Royale folder and since it is not found, its not working properly. if u select the theme, it anyhow wont show any error but wont display the theme properly. i send the full theme file in case u wanna chec it out.   11. what u mean is installing the patch would collect the ip and serial keys, send it to m$ and if found non-legit, they would blacklist it right? is that very soon we can expect, so called "non legit" keys which stayed behind to survive, would be disabled and those users would be forced to go for legit copies? any info or issues on the consequence of installing it?
  12. just_laze i suppose the final solution in my post No.58 would satisfy ur query. u can always read the complete thread to know all the problems and findings encountered by us during our testing process.
  13. if u can find i386\winnt.sif file with only the product key in it, in case it was delivered with the computer.
  14. if u integrate ie7 with nlite, try installing the fix thru runonceex. it should work.
  15. try to patch the uxtheme.dll file and try it. dony bother about whether what u have is from microsoft and believe xp could accept it.
  16. eventhough u re-register shell32.dll, u will face the same problem when new users are created. its better to install ie7 using runonceex and its patches. see my post on how-to, since ie7 has got serious bug of crippling runonceex. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...93061&st=40
  17. i saw today that wu is installing KB905474 resposible for WGA notifications in the computer. i suppose it can be installed through RunOnceEx with the switch /passive /norestart /overwriteoem /nobackup http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=905474 wondering abt the difference between WGA validation tool(KB892130) and WGA notification tool(KB905474).
  18. its the KB931836.exe which gives the problem("cannot save configuration information") so i have excluded it from my xp distribution. i have added KB924667.exe to RunOnceEx since it still shows in wu.
  19. nuhi, i dont put any addon or stuffs. but i cant figure out why i cant see the site in my xp. anyway thanks for letting me know that its not fault with nlited xp.
  20. all the time i was talking abt ie7 deleting the flag entry and not the other RunOnceEx2 entries(the hotfix installation and other commands). they are still there and never got executed. thats why i have to formulate that final method of execution in order to maintain the flag entry to make the RunOnceEx work even after installing ie7.
  21. ok atlast i got it work. before telling u the working method, i wanted to tell few things i experienced. problems i faced 1) "REG ADD %KEY% /V FLAGS /D "dword:0x00000080" /f" only made the RunOnceEx progress screen dissappear. RunOnceEx2 doesnt execute as usual. Solution I found that this entry was added under the type reg_sz. but what needed was it has to go under type REG_DWORD. so i changed the entry to : REG ADD %KEY% /V FLAGS /T REG_DWORD /D "0x00000080" /f and used it. this one also gave me the same result. Finally i just exported that entry to IEFlag.reg and used it in my installation. this is how i did. And no extra flag entries in my cmd files, but i used reg file. Only one restart is required for this method making my previous post obselete. The codes are fiddled by the code tags so i have attached them.   22. 1) the entry "REG ADD %KEY% /V FLAGS /D "dword:0x00000080" /f" is removed as soon as ie7 is installed. it was there until ie7 is installed. so after restart RunOnceEx2 is never executed. RunOnceEx2 adds the flag entry again but surprisingly its missing when i check registry during countdown to restart. so the flag entry is removed between the time when ie7 install completes and desktop loads. 2) during the countdown, i manually execute RunOnceEx2 and after restart, RunOnceEx is executed without problems. All these issues are already posted here by me and one or 2 members. Can someone tell me the difference between REG ADD %KEY% /V FLAGS /D "dword:0x00000080" (adds the key under type reg_sz) and REG ADD %KEY% /V FLAGS /T REG_DWORD /D "0x00000080".(adds the key under type reg_dword). Since manually executing RunOnceEx2 works, let me try using Run to add the flag entry again after ie7 install completes.
  23. thanks . previously i tried exactly the way u sent and it doesnt show me the status dialog of RunOnceEx execution and doesnt install RunOnceEx2. i dont know the problem is due different language. I try again now and if it doesnt work, i do slight modification to the files u sent and try again.
  24. chon im again testing it today. i dont mind status dialog not showing for that short time. i want to clarify fe things before that : - previously when i used the line REG ADD %KEY% /V Flags /T REG_DWORD /D 128 /F, the status dialog when RunOnceEx.cmd executed doesnt show up at all. (have a look at my RunOnceEx.cmd above, how many programs i install there. i never see the status dialog for that whole session). - the next RunOnceEx2.cmd (not the exact file as i posted above) which includes the ie7 fixes doesnt execute at all. also the flag entry is not found.( i have also included the flag entry in RunOnceEx2.cmd ). I want to know if i can ignore adding the flag (REG ADD %KEY% /V FLAGS /D "dword:0x00000080" /f) to RunOnceEx.cmd and add it to RunOnceEx2.cmd alone. anyhow RunOnceEx is not hijacked until ie7 is installed and restarted. so before restarting, the RunOnceEx2.cmd entries would have been added already.
