i connect 2 computers. one has 2 network cards and another has one to connect to this computer. when lan is connected, both computers repeatedly says 'network cable unplugged' and 'connected' and both msgs repeat each second one after the other until i unplug the cable. i didnt remove NLA or any service.

KB920342 doesnt allow themes to activate if slipstreamed. i manually tested many times to identify the problem is with this update. and now eliminated that fix from slipstreaming and works fine now. check whether ur fixes contain this update.

@ Jancm : can u tell me if u r integrating ie7 too. i integrate ie7. my xp gives error saying 'cannot save configuration information...' after the initial setup copying files and after 'saving configuration..' before restarting. i get this only after i started integrating feb07 patches. i found that the problem is in any of the following patches : KB918118.exe KB924667.exe KB926436.exe KB927779.exe KB927802.exe KB928843.exe KB931836.exe. After i removed these patches, it works fine. i planned to install 928090 and 929969 during RunOnceEx due to some other error during initial setup copying files(which i found out to be with 928090), so i didnt add them to nlite. i tried creating the distribution 5-6 times and installing it. ok I would now eliminate KB924667 alone and test. im thinking of adding each one and test individually.

Install silently, F-Secure Client Security 9 with updated AntiVirus, spyware, spam, parental control definitions using fsdbupdate9.exe Useful to add to the WPI disc. Thanks to Loras for steps 1, 3 and 4. Updating the definitions can be done soon after silent install without a restart. Use the attached files to do silent install rightaway. if you use the attached files, skip steps 1 and 2. DOWNLOAD F-Secure CS 9 from here Step1 : Run Setup manually and stop when window with components appear. Go to "%userprofile%/local settings/temp/fssetup0000001" or ur temp directory and copy the file product.ini to any location. Then continue and finish the installation (to extract admin.pub). Step 2: Again the admin.pub error("error while using the key in admin.pub") persists (since v5 as far as i know) in this version too after silent install. so manual install is needed to extract the admin.pub file. After manual installation is over, copy the file admin.pub from %programfiles%\f-secure\common to any location. Step3 : download fsdbupdate9.exe and save it in any location. fsdbupdate9 contains all databases, i.e. AV, Spyware, Spam, Parental, etc. Step4 : Now extract the fsecure installation file to a location and open prodsett.ini and do the following changes and save: [F-Secure common] SetupMode=2 CD-Key=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx[i][b](put there your CD key)[/b][/i] SourceMediaPath=\ ProductInformationIni=product.ini [i][b][u]check for these two entries and add or replace in All the listed or newly added sections:[/u][/b][/i] SilentMode=1 (replace 0 with 1 in all entries) Debug=0 (replace 1 with 0 in all entries) [u][b][i]If this section is not present, add this section, otherwise change accordingly:[/i][/b][/u] [Silent Setup] DestinationDirUnderProgramFiles=F-Secure Reboot=3 SilentModePluginsLang=ENG [GUI] ; Dlg...Off = 0 | 1 | 2 ; where: 0 - always display ; 1 - display in custom mode, skip in typical mode ; 2 - always hide. i followed the MOONLION way and it installed in my computer with no problems. my previous method was also not giving prob in my computer but in other ones, it showed the '3dmenueffects.dll' error. so i would try with other computers too. everytime after restart, i get an error msg that 'outlook express cannot be started....blah blah'. this msg came with my previous methods too. -

i got the same problem and i removed the entries with orca. installation terminates in the middle saying it cant find the proper modules. i wanted to know which entry i have to remove with orca. i have removed all occuring entries of "Nero3dmenueffects.dll" -
what kind of good forum u need? to learn cooking or driving or what? do u want to learn to create customised windows distribution? or wanted to learn how to use internet? i dont understand a thing.

i get this problem during install if i ignore that error. Error : The signature for windows setup is invalid. The error code is 57. The parameter is incorrect. Fatal Error : Setup failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error.The setup log files should contain more information. so for now im skipping ie7 till i get a solution.

when i nlite ie7 to win2003 sp2RC, it says this error. This hotfix isnt made for this windows version. Skipping <w2k3share root>\xmllitesetup.exe is this ok or will it give problem after installation. im asking this becoz i already tried ie7 as last option through runonceex with "/quiet /update-no /forcerestart" and still runonceex is not executing from then on.

perfect keylogger already classified as spyware with almost all antivirus. i cant find a way to shadow install it. anyway as far as i have seen it is the only software which can do a remote install and searching for better ones which can hide itself from antivirus and do remote install. if u come to know abt that, kindly post it. i too need it for a purpose. a person working in our company has stolen thousands of clients email id and started his own company and we are already loosing existing clients to him.

you can use the following line in a cmd file and use the %cdrom% variable to access the cd drive. Here Appz.CD is an empty file which has to be present in the cd root to identify the drive letter where the cd is present. u can use ur own file anyway. New Utility: Windows Media Player 11 Integrator

this utility is working but increasing the source size by 40mb+. i was previously using RunOnceEx to install wmp11. As im adding so many files to the source like wp, sounds, cursors etc, my source exceeds 750mb if i use this integrator so i have to use my old method. good effort anyway for a distribution with no extras. -

try with another cd drive. old drives are problematic sometimes. ive got similar problem couple of times before. -

i can give this idea to install using RunOnceEx. but after ie7 installed ,RunOnceEx is not working. someone has given a solution for this. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=86142 Also nlite method works for me. -

this would not work out if u use the files from the distribution cd. first install xp and do all kind of updates and take the required files from xp dir in ur hdd and do the modifications, modifype them and makecab, replace the files in the xp distribution with these modified files. this way i have made it work before. -
A New Cd-switching Utility

the one which came with WPI5.5. the problem comes when installing office2003, ie installing word, excel, pp,access individually from wpi. i mean by selecting each one from wpi and not just the whole office CD. so what it does is install word first and then checks for cd label and then installs excel etc. so before installing each component, it checks for cd label. since its the same office2003 cd from which selected compnents has to be installed, the installation must go on. but what happens is after installing word, wpi shows debug error. the next line to be executed is cdswitch, before installing the next selected office component(excel or access or pp). just now i tested with other apps in WPI by inserting cdswitch command in them. it works well. so i found out there is not prob with cdswitch. may be with installation of office files. sorry for the inconvinence. i posted that coz i was trying various ways for past one day, but was testing using office portion. thanks very much. Just now i found that it was due to the fact that office cd was present instead of WPI cd. Everytime WPI finishes installating a software, it is looking for installer.hta in WPI cd. so i just used cdswitch.exe after each software installation if that software is present in other than WPI cd. -

my wishes nanaki. glad to be in touch with u after long time. ur program works great all times but in WPI, if i use cdswitch.exe to check for cd which is already there in the drive, WPI gives me debug error and WPI gets hanged and i have to use ctrl+alt+del to kill it. Also the cdswitch.exe "request" screen itself is not showing. i wanted to know is there any way for cdswitch to simply exit and returns to WPI normally, if the required cd is already in the drive. i remember that when cdswitch is executed directly in my cmd files, it didnt give me problem like this, but im not sure. -

try using bmp file instead of jpg. also after first restart, reapply background setting registry. this is how i got it work.

when windows reboots first time, before first logon, xp stays still at the screen where it shows the boot logo and "please wait..." below that. after morethan 1/2 hr, i just rebooted and it works fine and nothing is missed. i dont know abt the hang error. i use ie7beta3 integration. nlited 2 separate distributions and tested to get the same result. nlite1.0 with ie7beta2 gave me no probs.
