Windows 2000 running great for me 1.8 Pentium 4, 364 MB of RAM If you are not getting any more RAM, try nliting 2000 or XP 2003 is also pretty good to turn into desktop mode. You can follow this guide: http://nexle.dk/daniel/win2000-32mb/ It should work for xp as well. At least some of it. I used the program X-Setup and am using the "classic mode" that it suggests. I think it uses a shell similar to WinNT and really has cut back on the resources. One more thing: Don't disable the Event Log. If you do, it will take longer to boot up once you get past the Windows 2000 screen. At least in Win2k. Don't know about the rest.

Yeah, you are pretty much stuck there. You can't make them sound better. Try the FLAC encoding from the original CDs. ogg is also good. And if you do use mp3, try the LAME encoder. Highly recommended as the best. You shoud also use CDex or EAC http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

I was checking in google today and saw that MUI packs are only for 2000 and above. What is the method for changing languages for win9x? I want to change pretty much the whole system. Start Menu, Folders, everything I can.

AMD K6 2/333 process with 3D It has 128 Mb ram 8GB HDD Will it run too slow? Problem is that I couldn't get 98 to install. When I type "FORMAT C:", it just hangs. Doesn't do anything. I am booting from the CD with CD-ROM support. Anyways, what do you(plural) think about 2000 on this machine?
