DriverPack MassStorage V5.10
Nakatomi2010 replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
Have a bit of a unique problem.... It works (YAY!) but not the way you'd expect... Everytime the system boots it says "New hardware found" and you hit finish in three windows, one for thhe SATA, another for PATA and a third for something I can't remember... And EVERYTIME it boots into Windows I get this.... Edit: FYI, I used to get the same problem when I'd try to add the drivers by deleting and replacing yours before this update... Oddly enough I've got a CD here that I used to do an Unattended install on an nForce (Asus A8N-E) chipset and it doesn't do that... So I dunno what's up with that.... -

But.. That's too logical.... -
This was originally posted in the Mass storage forum, but I discovered that the file in question I'm having difficulties with is the nv4_mini.sys file, which is a nVidia display driver... I'm creating a new thread here on it for the sake ofproper organizing... I've currently removed Graphics pack A from the multiboot DVD and am now creating a new image without it... The install is being performed on an MSI Neo4 Platinum SLi machine with a PCI Express GeForce 6600 made by eVGA... System is NON-SLi...

DriverPack MassStorage V5.10

Will do... Give me one moment... Since I'm using Method 2, should I just delete the pack? edit:I'm going to create a topic on this in the Graphics driver pack directory, for the sake of an organized train of thought... -
DriverPack MassStorage V5.10
Nakatomi2010 replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
Use me as a guinea pig... Send me your revisions and I can give them a shot... Edit: While looking into how to fix it myself, I think I've made a minor discovery.... I think the affected file ISN'T related to mass storage at all but rather the display.. I did a search through the Method 1 directory I've got on my end and search for anyfile containing nv4_mini.sys, and only display .inf files popped up... -
Multiboot DVD with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
Nakatomi2010 replied to rapdomendigo's topic in Multi-Boot CD/DVDs
I've got Media Center Edition 2005 on my Multiboot DVD, along with Windows XP Home (OEM, VLM, Retail), Professional (OEM, VLM, Retail) and x64 edition... Media Center Edition 2005 works just fine for me, and I've got Bashrat's driverpack slipstreamed into it, as well as having it call on WPI... Works just like any other OS... You may want to double check and make sure you ARE using 2005 edition and not 2004, as 2004 is a bit crippled hardware support wise... -
DriverPack MassStorage V5.10
Nakatomi2010 replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
Please try and install on your board, like I said, I'm running a two disk stripped RAID array and I installed from a multiboot DVD, so for all I know it could be someting wrong with my DVD.... I like to think it isn't, but you know... s*** happens.... Also... Bashrat, just to flesh things out.... My error message came AFTER I had passed through the GUI Install phase, basically as it was about to boot into Windows XP for the first time.... And I HAVE tried this multiboot on a non nForce chipset and had a successful install, so it's not the DVD... -
DriverPack MassStorage V5.10
Nakatomi2010 replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
Finally got around to testing it.... Was it a success on the nForce 4 chipset of an MSI Neo 4 Platinum SLI? No, it wasn't... I'm getting BSOD saying "DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELLING_PENDING_OPERATIONS" nv4_mini.sys stop code: 0x000000CE (0xF6C3FAA0, 0x00000008, 0xF6C3FAA0, 0x00000000) I'm multibooting... I ran the copy_sys_files_to_temp.cmd to get all the mass storage drivers.... Edit: I'll try a non multiboot alittle later, figured I'd at least try it first and go from there... I'm using METHOD 2.... 2 disk RAID array stripped.... -
So I was thinking it'd be nice if I could hand people a copy of my DVD as a "Hey, look what you can do, and all you need is this" and after say a week or so it stops working... Timebombing it... I know if they REALLY REALLY wanted in to it, it wouldn't be that hard, but you know, it'd still be nice if you could cripple it nicely, so that it would deter some people....

Curious...why preinstall applications at all?
Nakatomi2010 replied to -.-PhanTom-.-'s topic in Application Installs
I use unattended CD's here at work, they actually allow me to do more in far less time... Before doing a format and reload on a customer unit would take for ever, but now I can do it in about an hour flat, with all drivers and some software installed, and all updates.... Essentially I've got a DVD that I'm calling the 'Windows XP Solutions DVD'... It's a multiboot DVD I've made that allows me to install from scratch, or do a repair install of any flavor of Windows XP (From Home, to Pro, to MCE, to x64 edition)... I can take said DVD and then use it on a customer unit running Windows XP and reinstall XP, during the install it installs .NET framework with all patches and stuff, then at the end of the install WPI comes up and allows me to choose from all sorts of software, such as Open Office 2.0, Java runtime, Adobe Acrobat, AVG Free Antivirus, MS Antispyware, Ad-Aware, and other free yet useful tools... And so within an hour flat the system is ready to go... In my job this DVD of mine save me about 2 to 4 hours of installs/reboots so for me they're EXTREMELY handy... -
In all the searches I've done I've found pretty much all the answers I need, except for one... When I do the unattended installs, yes PDVD5 installs silently, but when I go to run it after the setup it asks for the CDkey, so how do I integrate the CD key into the install process? Edit: Nevermind, I took a long close look at the thread I was looking at and discovered what I was doing wrong.... I was adding silent=1 in the custom.ini when I should've been...

DriverPack MassStorage V5.10
Nakatomi2010 replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
First thing on Monday... Or Tuesday depending on whether Hurricane Wilma heads north or south..... -
Yeah, I'm a tech at a computer store and I've created a multiboot DVD which allows me to install ANY flavor of XP onto a computer, then WPI lets me install usefull free software onnto the unit (Open Office, Picasa, Google toolbar, Ad-Aware, AVG, etc etc....) VERY handy....
-
It appears to be setup.exe -qn and it installs silently... YAY!
-
I did a quick search on it, didn't see anything... I'm assuming the silent install method for Open Office 2.0 is the same as before?
-
Hail Bashrat... Suppose what sucks is my guinea pig nforce machine is gone.... I wont know if it works properly till I use it on a customer unit.... On a side note, when you do release the update what's the process for updating the Method 2 install, which slipstream them, or just copyy the .7z file ontop of the old?
-
I started out the same way as yoyo up top, but I skiped Autoit and switchless installers and went straight to WPI... I'm a technician at 2 different computer stores and my multiboot XP DVD saves me ALOT of time, I can have Windows XP installed with all drivers, updates and basic software within an hour on a respectable machine... My Multiboot XP DVD has Home (OEM, VLM Retail), Pro (OEM, VLM Retail) MCE2005 and x64 edition... I'm ready for anything... And I've still got a gigs worth of play space on the DVD... Contents of my DVD are the OSes above, ERD Commander, UBCD For Win, and a second PE a friend of mine gave me, the NT Password changer, Ghost. Software wise it's Ad-Aware, AVG, Adobe Reader 7, Open Office, XPize, Nero, Java, quicktime, MS Antispy, Google Earth, google toolbar, and firefox... I want to include Power DVD but I can't find a friendly way of doing it... I'm also looking for other freeware to use that would help id*** computer users...
-
So, I do format/reloads on alot of nForce chipset machines, now the included nVidia mass storage drivers aren't entirely the right ones and since I'm using Method 2 now rather than M1 I don't know the proper fix for this.... Could someone tell me how to go in and replace the nVidia drivers and replace them with them with the ones that work...? Or can bashrat make a small "patch" release...

So I ran an install from my DVD last night and when I ran WPI it ran things in order, for the most part, but when it reached stepped 7 it executed the second command from step 10... Basically it tried to register the file for MS Antispyware before trying to install the spyware software... What's up with that?
-
Groovy, thanks...
-
I still got error code 101, this is how I've been doing it...
-
First I DID do a search and it DID find results, but when I clicked on the links it showed me nothing, I repeadetly did Word find to find Microsoft or antispyware to no avail, it just wouldn't show the topics, despite the search showing they exist... So either answer or point me in the rightdirection, thank you... I'm trying to install MS Antispy silently... I keep getting error code 101...
