I have a lot stuff, so i dont know where is my office Install, a file called Setup.ini or Setup.inf should be there (easier if you search with windows search for setup.*), check por PID or PIDKEY or PRODUCT KEY but it is disabled by a * or smoe character, anyway, doing just as is on that link, you can have an installation source called network installation, just ask for Acept the EULA and type of install (default or custom).

if you had not an answer before, is coze i dont came very often around here.

in the file setup.ini or inf is a line wich contains something like:

Microsoft Office 2003 Setup (or without the setup word) next to it you can ad: By Me!

Bcoz firefox and star office are memory hungry

vista alone require abt 350+ memory (abt 3 mins after bootup on desktop)

firefox ~70

staroffce ~50 or more (it uses java too)

u dont specified abt grphics card if it is onboard it also take shared memory

A8N-SLI DELUXE does not include graphics card on board, i set the memory stick where ASUS recommends, on B1 slot.

xTASY 9200 PRO or you can call it ATI RADEON 9200 with 128MB on board.

Windows XP PRO SP2

i dont worry about staroffice nor firefox, had 75% memory free (not on the paging file there had more...)

Windows XP is on 300GB Maxtor IDE

Vista CD Contents on 320 GB (SATA-2 enabled) on an NTFS partition, i reset the temp dir to an fat32 partition, first i had to create a new folder and name it temp, otherwise, vLite doesnt change the temp dir.

All that work was on the SATA disk.

i think that could take long to redo my CD but not to slowdown my PC.

another issue with vLite DVD: at the end of the installation, vista says, could not configure a device, need to restart and reinstall, this happens in another PC a DIMMENSION E310 wich i check with windows vista upgrade advisor, there says business ready, and the vLite DVD is Vista Ultimate, matters there?

first to mention, i have a very poor english.

My PC specs are:

ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE

320GB SEAGATE SATA-2 HD 7200.10 (Enabled to run as SATA-2 has a jumper to run as SATA )

300GB MAXTOR IDE

160GB SEAGATE IDE

AMD 64 X2 4800+ @ 2.4 GH

512 MB MEMORY STICK (i know, is too low in memory) PC3200 @ 400MHz

vLite makes my PC too slow, i dont use many programs, running only Firefox, StarOffice 8, Windows Explorer, MSN Messenger & sound manager (from ASUS) and taskswitch in the clock.

is it a memory stick issue?

or is vLite issue?

because is toooooo sloooooww

including to type in here, 4 characters need 1 second to showup!

Hi everyone, here around new nLite 4 Vista, i just don´t reply often neither log in, but what about the name nLista? free worries about nVista or just the Vista name or nVista, i mean, for nvidia.

Add to nLite disable the autoscan from the startup when booting after a BSOD or accidentally restarting or shut down.

this works in Windows 2000 and XP any Service Pack, instead of, is necesary only 2 keys but i dont know wich one to delete.

i don´t really remember how i did set it in to the nlite.in_ file but it works fine.

one more thing i have found, is deleting the file: autochk.exe give you more free space ( needs to be all togheter, i mean, the registry keys and delete the file).

First of all sorry with my really poor english

i try to find at this moment in windows ME, but this will work on Windows 98 SE (where i found it!).

files modified:

folder.htt in Windows directory (where i think this did work!)

standard.htt in Windows\Web dir

sysroot.htt in Windows\Web dir

there is one way, you can have mp3 preview too, just find your hidden files with the .htt extension in the folder

X:\Windows\Web

or you can type:

X:\Windows\Web\standard.htt

X:\Windows\folder.htt (recommended)

infrom your notepad (you need to replace, X: by your Windows drive example:

C:\Windows\Web\standard.htt

D:\Windows\Web\standard.htt)

if there is not your extension you can ad in the middle just like the others ",avi,asf"

in case you can´t seeit you´ll need dowload the codecs n install (that´s the DivX with avi extension)

and to add mp3 preview just follow the steps for video preview,

there is next to it, replace return false with return true, and add the extension ",mp3" (Windows ME have it already included)without quotes dont get confuse and add it in the middle,

im really sure it can be in Windows 98 updated (maybe just with iexplore updated i didn´t try this before, aybe it works without updates), i use this in Windows 98 SE and works perfect, just like opened media player, because have the main control, BW, PLAY, FW, PAUSE, STOP, Volume Control.

if you can´t find the file .htt in Windows 98 SE, check this desktop.htt and folder.htt.

you should ask why the other files, the reason is:

i dont have installed Windows 98 right now, i have windows ME in one pc and windows xp in the second both are slow, 166 MHz and 233 MHz.

i found the needed file in windows ME (who thinks is not the same windows 98 n windows me xcluding bugs and easy to use).

if, there is a little different with windows 98 SE could find the value "Media: true" or "var media : true" close to the top, i hope to be wrong with these las 2 word lines, but just in case don´t work for the movie preview (and mp3 preview) try to find what i say in this paragraph.

note: if don´t works what i say, sorry, try to find by yourself...

final note:

i was testing, at the end of all:

works folder.htt (i found it in Windows dir wich i modified return false with return true, then i made a copy to Windows\Web and it works fine)

my proof to my eyes was beck.asf audiofile played in x:\my documents\my music folder.

for windows me you can find folder.htt hidden in Windows dir, modify it and copy or move to Windows\Web

for windows 98 se try to find folder.htt in Windows\Web dir (in case, only in case you dont get function IsMovieFile in folder.htt found in Windows\Web dir try to find in Windows dir)

i almost forgot, youll need to have selected to ake it works, and other application wich works, i think is fotoslate (not really sure but it was from the same company, long time til now i remember that, was cool) from ACDSee when you do right click on an audio or movie file, it starts playing (the movies in a good thumbnail size in the middle of the context menu)

[XP 64 VS XP Pro Speed]

amd 64 bits processor is more stable, more compatible with 32 bits apps (there is a diff with intel´s itanium), this one keep program files folder for 64 bits and other program files folder for 32.

what i dont know is if xp pro 32 bits would work, ill try in almost a month coze im building by myself my own pc.
