@ all users with an Intel chipset mainboard or laptop: Recently (01/05/2009) Intel has released a brandnew version 8.7.0.1007 of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and the included Intel AHCI and RAID drivers. To make these actual textmode drivers v8.7.0.1007 available for you from scratch, I have just updated my guide (first post of this thread) and added download links to the new drivers. Have fun! Regards Fernando

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Welcome at MSFN Forums! You have to integrate the SATARAID folder of either this or this driver version. If you want to get the best possible performance, I would take the second one. Good luck! Fernando -

The server obviously is down. If the repair should take a longer time, I will change the links. Please have a look into the first post of this thread. There you will find other links to my driverpacks. Thanks for your information and for your patience! Fernando EDIT: All links should work again. -

What about compatible HardwareId PCI\VEN_10DE&CC_0106 ?That may work too, but I am not able to verify it. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
That's great for you and for me too. To be honest, I didn't really expect, that it would work. Now, since your AHCI system is up, you can even try to update your currently running nForce chipset drivers (before you do that, you should uninstall the Ethernet driver). You are welcome.Greetings! Fernando @ all other nForce chipset owners: The linked REG file is only usable with MCP78 (nForce 730a/720a/710a) chipset mainboards. Additionally the file NVGTS.SYS has to be present within the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS folder of your XP partition. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
@ gdm12345: I have prepared and uploaded a REG file, which might work for you. Download it here and unzip it. Before you run the REG file, you should do a backup of all your important datas. After having run the REG file, you should do, what the other authors already have written: 1. Reboot and enter the BIOS. 2. Enable AHCI, save the new BIOS settings and reboot. 3. When you get the "Found new hardware" message, stop the installation procedure, run the installer of the 18.11 driverpack and choose just the "MediaShield"/"Storage Driver" option. Good luck! Fernando EDIT: As I just have seen, you recently have enabled RAID. This will not work, if you want to run your SATA Controllers in AHCI mode. So you have to disable RAID and reboot before you start running the REG file. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Although your request is completely off topic, I would like to help you.The main problem with AHCI capable nForce systems is the big variety of different AHCI Controllers. So it is not possible to create 1 single REG file, which is usable with all AHCI capable nForce chipset mainboards. What I need are the following informations: Does your mainboard have an MCP78 chipset? If not, which is the exact MCP chipset number? Which nForce chipset driver pack resp. which nForce IDE driver version are you running? Do you have already a file named NVGTS.SYS within your WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS folder? When you open the "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" and "SCSI and RAID Controllers" sections of the Device Manager, do you see any devices named "NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controllers"? If yes, which HardwareID's do they show? If no, which HardwareID's do the listed devices named "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" show? Notice: You can see the supported HardwareID's of any device by doing a right click onto it and choose the "Properties" > "Details" > "Property" > "HardwareIDs" options. -
Welcome at MSFN Forums! Why didn't you let nLite do the job? When you start nLite and come to the nLite task selection window, where you selected to "Integrate Drivers", you have to hit the button "Create Bootable ISO" too. Regards Fernando

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers

@ gdm12345: I know these guides, but I didn't mention them, because users of this thread usually don't have an Intel or AMD chipset mainboard. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
It may be possible, but you have to do some special registry settings and I haven't yet seen a guide about how to do it from within Windows XP (guides for Vista are available). No, because the REPAIR option is not able to do the needed registry settings and nForce SATA AHCI driver installation. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
1. This is a guide about how to do a fresh install of an OS like Windows XP onto an nForce RAID system by using the probably best suitable drivers and not a thread about how to get a better performance while running XP.2. The main intention for the development and publication of new BIOS and driver versions is not the increase of the performance, but the elimination of bugs and the increase of the compatibilty and stability. So this is my advice for you: As long as you are satisfied with your currently running system, you should stick with the old nForce IDE drivers and BIOS version ("Never touch a running system!"). If you should get any problems or planning a fresh XP installation, you should start with the best possible BIOS and nForce chipset driver versions. -

@ Matze0027: Welcome at MSFN Forums! I haven't yet seen any guide about how to enable AHCI from within a running XP. If you want to read a German guide about how to integrate the NVIDIA nForce SATA AHCI driver into a bootable XP CD, you should look here. You should use the SATA_IDE driver folder of NVIDIA's official nForce chipset driverpack 15.23/15.24. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers

So the New Year is beginning with much luck for you. Thanks for your feedback!Greetings from Fernando -
At this point you have to cancel the "installation" procedure, but you have access to the completely extracted ATI driver files (usually within the C:\ATI directory).
-
Why didn't you just run the complete ATI Catalyst 8.12 EXE file for Windows XP? The first step is just the extraction of the package into a freshly created folder (usual path:C:\ATI). So you can run the EXE file even on a system without any ATI graphics adapter. After the extraction you will find the XP drivers, which are needed for the nLite integration, within the XP_INF subfolder of the C:\ATI directory. After having completed your nLite processing, you can delete the C:\ATI directory.

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
@ xenton: Welcome at MSFN Forums! I wish you luck, but if you want any further help, you should tell me a ) which nForce chipset your mainboard has and b ) which driver version and which driver folder you have integrated. -
At the end of the installation procedure (usually at last reboot). Look into the NV4_DISP.INF file. The integrated drivers of the NLDRV folder are not needed anymore, when the hardware detection and installation is completed (no yellow marks within the Device Manager), but you have to pay attention, that the needed drivers of the extern hardware devices (printers, scanners etc.) are already been installed too. Tip: All extern devices have to be powered on once the OS installation is completed. When all devices whose drivers have been integrated into the OS CD are running, you can completely delete the WINDOWS\NLDRV folder.
-
I don't think, that you will be able to integrate the needed XP textmode drivers by using an XP WIM file.
-
1. The INF files only contain the informations about how to get the real driver (that is the associated SYS file) installed. So the device wouldn't work at all, if nLite would just install the particular INF files.2. nLite copies all files inclusive the EXE and MSI files of the driver folder inclusive the subfolders into the ISO file and will be transferred into your later OS partition. You can find all these files in the specific driver subfolder within the WINDOWS\NLDRV directory after having completed the OS installation (unless you have checked the nLite option "Delete driver folders after the installation is completed"). So you can easily run these application files, if this should not have been done automaticly during the installation procedure.
-
You don't need to integrate more than 1 INF file for each driver, it must not even be a suitable one. NLite will copy the complete content of the driver folder into the later ISO file.

at what point will i know if the ICH9M AHCI SATA worked?
Fernando 1 replied to maussimo010's topic in nLite
If you have read the guide, why didn't you post into that special thread? You should let XP Setup do the NTFS formatting (quick), because Vista has a slightly other NTFS file system than XP. -
at what point will i know if the ICH9M AHCI SATA worked?
Fernando 1 replied to maussimo010's topic in nLite
You will know it, when the formatting procedure has completed and you are booting off your XP CD with integrated Intel AHCI drivers. Have you seen the guide how to do it? Here is it. CU Fernando -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Hello Steve, welcome at MSFN Forums! Unfortunately I cannot find the nForce chipset details, but I assume, that it has an MCP73 board with enabled nForce RAID Controller. No, that is a BSOD. If it wouldn't find any hdd, you would see it.Questions: 1. Which textmode driver (version and folder) did you integrate? 2.What did you let nLite do except the textmode driver integration? 3. Have you tried to remove 1-2 of your RAM sticks before you began to install XP? CU Fernando
