  6. Ok. (Using the tutorial on posted here on MSFN) I successfully set up a web server. I installed InvisionBoard 1.0.1. But when I go into the UserCP and then click avatar settings this error message appears at the top of the page: Warning: OpenDir: No such file or directory (errno 2) in /wwwroot/htdocs/forums/sources/Usercp.php on line 820 Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /wwwroot/htdocs/forums/sources/Usercp.php on line 821 Warning: closedir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /wwwroot/htdocs/forums/sources/Usercp.php on line 828 and this is whats on those lines: $dh = opendir( $ibforums->vars['html_dir'].'avatars' ); while ( $file = readdir( $dh ) ) { if ( !preg_match( "/^..?$|^index/i", $file ) ) { $avatar_gallery[] = $file; } } closedir( $dh ); that starts with 820 and ends with 828 Ive never had a problem like this before. anyone know how i can fix this?

  10. try using InvisionBoard. It's free, looks nice, and is easy to set up. All it requires is php and an sql database.
  11. ok i used the tutorial posted in there and the only problem i ran into was mysql not installing into /wwwroot/mysql but instead into /wwwroot but i know why that happened. what my problem now is that ill startup mysql and it will say "./mysqld ready for connections" but then i try to connect to if, say with Invisionboard setup (or any other program that tries to connect to it) and i get this error: mySQL error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) mySQL error code: 2002 Date: Monday 19th of August 2002 05:15:31 PM any ideas on how to fix this?
  12. i saw it. it was a pretty good movie. worth the money to go see it IMO. (and i usualy dont pay the extra to see a movie in the theater.)

  14. Found this on IBElite Source: The Inquirer Man walks up to Clawhammer, benchmarks it And here it is By Mike Magee: Thursday 15 August 2002, 10:06 THE AMD STAFF AT LINUXWORLD must have been away having a fag or two* outside the Moscone Center yesterday. Because one of our readers just strolled up to an unattended Clawhammer machine at the AMD stand and benchmarked it. The machine was running Mandrake Linux, kernel 2.4.18-24mdk, and identified itself as running at 797.7 MHz with 256k of cache. The benchmark the man ran was the RSA crypto benchmark included in openssl (version 0.9.6d). (more info on source page)
  15. and what exactly is the Horde From Hell clan?

  18. Let me be the first to wish you a happy birthday. Being that I was the first to notice (2am my time). Once again, have a great b-day.
  19. Yes, whenever possible do a fresh install instead of an upgrade because you dont have the buildup of old system files from the previous OS'. (and I use Pro on my home PC and I must say that i would never touch home. Pro has some extra functionality)
  20. thanks man, i was looking for something like this to use..I'm trying to set up a webserver using linux/apache. Now I'll definitly give this a try.
  21. i think theres a small glitch in the title bar as it says "It is now Dienstag, 13.August 2002 " just thought ide give you guys the heads up
  22. nice one...thx Pia. I'm goin to try it now.
  23. This doesn't really have one section it can go in so I put it here. What I did was took the logo screensaver from .Net Enterprise Server RC1 (b/c thats the comp I was on at the time) and took each of the 9 bitmaps out and repacked the screensavers with their own bitmap. So you can have your own screensaver with the following windows logos on them: .Net Standard Server .Net Web Server .Net Enterprise Server .Net Datacenter Server Windows XP Home Windows XP Pro Windows XP Embeded Windows XP Tablet and Bobcat Beta1 (Small Business Server) Why you ask? Simply because I felt like it. File Size: 58kb File Type: RAR Encoded Using: WinRAR 3.00 _xp_screensaver_repack.rar
  24. IMO its pretty good...for what im using it for...be better if i could get PHP to work..
  25. i already downloaded enterprise and im downloading standard now
