  1. First try. Its not perfect, but its better than the origional IMG Removed I'm currently in the process of making a "Rich Geek Edition" who im sure you can guess will be the centerfold. winntbbu.dl_
  2. I use photoshop 7
  3. Yes, its been converted to 8bit (256 colours), and i kinda figured thats what the pipes were for
  4. I dont think every kind of .inf file has an install option on it when you right click it. Most inf files are just basic files that programs use to save and load values.
  5. Can someone give me a hand please? When i use resource hacker to replace the main bitmap (the background) i get an access violation, and it wont load/save the main bitmap. The exact error states: "Access violation at address 0040279 in module 'ResHacker.exe'. Write of address 011F0000" I have no idea whats wrong
  6. Stix, you're a god damned genious! If I were homosexually inclined, i'd make you the most sexually satisfied man alive. Thank you. That being said, maybe we could make a new topic board where everyone posts pictures of their XP Setup screens? It'd be a good way to get idea's i think.
  7. Oh bugger lol Can you please post where you found them? Ill investigate
  8. Does anyone have any more information thats a little more specific?
  9. I find that different things happen when using your CD to install on VMWare and on VirtualPC. When i was using VMWare, i had the same problem with the screen resolution box popping up, but once i ran the cd under VirtualPC, everything worked flawlessly. I suggest you download VirtualPC. Its an all-around better alternative to VMWare.
  10. Not really. If it can be done, id want to know how to put it into my automatic installation CD N.B: You post too much.
  11. I, for one, am sick of reading all thoes stupid little tidbits that appear during windows installation. My question is, can they be changed to large images of women bare breasted, and wearing nothing but smiles? I noticed that in the top left hand corner is a picture of a microsoft logo, so microsoft are displaying images on that screen. Therefor, somehow, they must be able to be changed! Any suggestions?
  12. Thank you sir!
  13. Could someone please direct me to where i set up which iso image to boot off in VirtualPC? I scoured the options, preferences etc, and even the help files, but cant seem to find it. Cheers
  14. Access was designed for database usage. Ie, keeping records, allowing other people to access your information and make changes with restricted access if you wished. Excel on the other hand, was designed for calculations, such as payroll's etc. My recommendation would be to use Access for what you need to do.
  15. That isnt his theme. Its just a preview screenshot of something that he ripped off somewhere.
  16. In persuit of the evergrowing quest to chock my XP CD full of more junk, i am curious as to whether it be possible to remove the Win9XUPG and Win9XMIG folders from the i386 directory? Im not totally sure what they do, but im assuming XP will use the files in the WINNTUPG folder ... then again, i could be totally wrong.
  17. Im pretty sure Microsoft only throws the critical updates into the service packages, and asks you to download the recommended updates separatly. But I assume you'll be able to download and install the recommended updates the same way you do with the hotfixes, so your unattended install with recommended updates shouldnt be a problem.
  18. Does anyone out there in Auto XP Installation land know an easier way to test your batch files other than re-installing XP every time? I use VMWare to test my CD, but its still very time consuming process just to test little aspects. (Like seeing if it removes a desktop shortcut properly etc.)
  19. btw, i'd be happy to make you a small little vb program if you prefer that to dos commands. If your interested, just ICQ me. 21799755
  20. To test it, just whack echo commands in the install parts, and run it.
  21. Thats what i do
  22. Which version of the command prompt does XP use to execute these batch files? the 32 bit ver, or 16 bit ver?
  23. The Choice command would be perfect for this little project, but sadly, its not supported in windows XP.
  24. Ive found that when i sometimes tried to merge a key to the regristy, it would give me an error about being unable to import binary registry entries, and this is how i fixed it. Just add the line Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 to the top of the reg file, and merge again. It should work fine.
