    ConvertXtoDVD 3.x/4.x silent install - How to

    Ok here we go i can unpack covertxtodvd and repack it add registry entries it runs ok, the problem i have is trying to get BatchXtoDVD

    to run it comes up with error and doesn't get convertxtodvd path i,e, C:\Program Files\VSO\ConvertX\3\ConvertXtoDvd.exe.

    If i run convertxtodvd normal installer not repack BatchXtoDVD runs ok I am obvouslly missing registry settings some where. I have even tried autoit script but they fail at selecting TV format settings i,e, PAL NTSC or any.

    Would just like to be able to install both these programs without any errors as i said convertxtodvd ain't a problem.

    P.S. BatchXtoDVD is a stand alone program i know where it saves it's registry settings HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CMSoft\BatchXtoDVD but main settings i threads are from Convertxtodvd registry.

    Have you tried using the SERIAL switch without using the SUPPRESSMSGBOXES option?

    Hey Acheron, I've tried almost all switches without success, it still asks for serial.

    Please fix it soon as Nero is very importent in my silent installation.

    CMenu

    Someone posted a link to a CMENU 2.6.EXE file and since I cannot get the file in the first post to download, its the only one I have. But I am hesitant to run it without a confirmed MD5.

    Can someone post an MD5 for version 2.6 EXE.

    How to put serial in the silent commands

    Not all inno setup installers allow you to add serial number what you can do is install the program and got to the registry and export serial number and add it after install. here is example but dont go with paths i am using.

    Hi all,

    I'm writting this message because I've troubles installing Nero Lite silently since I've tried 8.3.13.0 version.

    I've revised my command line setting once and once again and it seems to fail (attached image nero004.png). I use this command:

    start /wait nero-8.3.13.0_europe_lite_build_1.18.0.1.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP- /SERIAL="XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX" /USER="User" /COMPANY="Nero" /TYPE="Full"

    After this, I've deleted "Nero" & "Ahead" keys in the registry. If I try to install Nero Lite NOT silently, I can install it but seems that not stores serial settings in the registry. When I open Nero Express or Nero Burning Rom a screen is show notifying that demo version has expired (attached image nero001.png)

    Whe I add serial number through Nero Conrol Center it works.

    What can i do/try???

    P.D: I seems that nero 8.3.6.0 installer have the same problem now.

    I found out that if you add /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES or /SP- will cause installer not to add serial number.

    Nero Burning ROM v7 installation

    One concern I have is that the 2 versions significantly differ in sizes. See below.

    So just what is packed in that latest version of Nero? I opened the EXE using 7-Zip and the size differences seem to be in the CAB files. I know that older versions on Nero 6 used to offer Nero Vision/Recode as a separate download.

    Can someone who uses the older 7.10.1.0 confirm that it does include Nero Vision/Recode. And if so then what is making it such a big difference in size. Maybe its this Nero Sipps or something else.

    Looks like there is no longer any way to download the trial from Nero. Links to 7 get redirected and the only page where 7 is downloadable is from an update.

    The file is:

    Anyone have any luck in getting this script to work with this latest version from Ahead's site?

    If not anyone have suggestions on how I can get the older 7.10.1.0 trial exe?

    Or can someone supply filenames and hashes.

    But not sure if this a valid file or not, can someone confirm the MD5 hash. I tried contating Nero, but get no response, go figure they are probably too busy refunding peoples money for v9 ;)

    Will this work with a retail exe?

    Also I believe that maybe Nero added these apps in later versions and I noticed the script did not have these listed an install option variables at the beginning: Nero Sipps and Nero ScratchBox.

    Yes it will work with that version all nero single language installers are the same file just renamed look at the hash for my version.

    I use CEoCEo script my self works great.

    To start with i take it your system came with windows preinstalled or do you have a recovery cd is it an OEM machine. ?if it is and you dont have original cd you you will need to download OEM bios files from the internet and use a royalty key . also read thread here as to why WPA.DBL file wont work everytime you format hard drive the serial number changes and you are only allowed so many hardware changes.Windows Product Activation (WPA) on Windows Xp

    Lazy answer: read this page. A quick google search for "installshield silent switches" or something similar would also have found the documentation on acresso's site like here

    Well that i've read but the problem what i have is when i type 

    setup.exe /r

    it dos'nt record bur it removes.

    Do i have to need a special program to use that commands?

    I have installshield 2009 but need i installshield devstudio for it? and where can i get a demo version of it?

    It will remove if you allready have the program installed you need to uninstall the program first then install with the /s switch then look in windows for setup.iss file.

    The thread is for sharing knowledge and finding new ways to do things.

    If I do an edit to an .msi I may be able to remove a block that prevents direct install and install it silently without something like setupx.exe which does work on some applications.

    In this case I could and bypass setupx.exe. and run any one of the nero unit.msi installers silently.

    I tried running the script but no success - question: is %KEY% HKLM ?

    Silent install Nero 9

    I installed burning rom 9 but first I had to extract setupx.exe by running it and then copying nro.tmp from my temp directory to my desktop.

    Now I place app 4 from the web package into the nro.tmp folder I copied. I had to edit the unit.msi with orca to launch it without setupx.exe by deleting the launch condition table but it gives me an error "can not access shell manager"

    so I press ok to get rid of the error dialog box and it installs. Then I have to register AdvrCntr4.dll and it evrything works. All I need to do now is find a way to get rid of the shell error and everything will be perfect.

    Try this.

    Ok iv'e heard enough download nero 382 MB to do what most peeps just want to do basic dvd/cd and audio burning.

    nero lite by Acheron is excellent and also NAR by x-Shadow-x, iv'e allways liked nero's basic interface on the burning rom side, but this is getting ridiculous. If you dont want all the features in nero then get another program. I use ultraIso convertxtodvd they do most i need.

    P.S. i still use nero 6 on xp machine 25.2 MB stripped down with NCAB at the time.

    Not being funny here i hope but there are smaller OS systems than nero9.
