Thanks, lots of cool stuff but still the same problem, I cannot configure the setup. As a result, it inserts the shortcut into toolbar, desktop and start menu, which I don't want. I have this probloem for most of the programs. After they are installed automatically my computer looks like a garbage because I have all these icons all over the place and programs are configured by default, which sucks:(You need to do more reading and learn how to delete .lnk files these can be added to cleanup.cmd or Runonce
"CMD /C DEL \"%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\Total Commander.lnk\"" /f

where did u get it cause it is nof official?
I compiled it myself, using the InnoSetup sources that Jared makes freely available on his site.
Yeah i done that a while back but i just updated innounp.exe and instead of extract context menus because i use winrar in context menus also i added send to Universal Extractor, save confusion quite handy was allways gonna ask nitro322 to add send to option plus if possible, explain switches to disable context e.c.t.
but i know nitro322 is busy so i just did my own.

Im not sure about recovery DVD but if you have RTM version of Vista or access to an OEM you can make your own OEM DVD
Extract your Vista DVD and inside the Sources folder create a new text file and copy paste the text below inside and save the file as PID.TXT
[PID]
Value=(your OEM Vista key here)
Now take your OEM XRM-MS file and copy the file to:
SOURCES\$OEM$\$$\SYSTEM32\OEM
If the $OEM$ and subfolders dont exsist, create them.
Your oem xrm-ms is stored in SYSTEM32\OEM
Branding e.c.t are stored in SYSTEM32\OOBE
Burn the contents as a bootable DVD and you have your OEM disk!
You dont have to use slmgr.vbs if you copy PID.txt file to SOURCES folder
or make your own if it is not on recovery dvd.
You May need to use a keyfinder program i,e,
jellybean to get you Vista Key (Royalty Key) the one used by Manufacturer to install your system, dont use the one on the that is on your laptop case if you use this you will have to activate over the internet.

@razormoon : How do you extract files ? No problems with missing cabs files ?Sonic, go with Autoit method its far easier, you can still select what components you want to install.
And will save you space on DVD nero is 500MB when unpacked not unless your gonna make sfx just more work , also nero demo, trial, and full are all same versions just depends on your key

REG ADD %KEY%\1001 /V 105 /D "REGEDIT /S %SystemDrive%\APPS\ZoneAlarmPro\ZoneAlarmPro2.reg" /fThe actuall licence file is called zllictbl.dat which is stored in Windows\System32 P.S. it is a hidden file, also the registration info is stored in.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\Registration]
but i export.
ZoneAlarmPro1.reg =
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Zone Labs]
and
ZoneAlarmPro2.reg =
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Zone Labs]
if you export these two entries zonealarm pro is setup with all you current settings no need for the zonesettings.xml
P.S. if you dont need the settings then the zllictbl.dat will do anyway i just copy it to save it waiting for registration pending.

Hey, great guide.
I have a question though.
On the following page it explains how to install applications from removable media http://firegeier.unattended-sponsor.de/en/applications.html,
but how can I do it so they install from the DVD instead?
cheers
hinz
NOTE:You don't need to store the Install folder to a seperat removable media. You can put it - including the AppsRoot.txt - to the Vista DVD, too. But it's more convenient to have all these seperat files on a USB flash drive in my opinon.
this was on the guide page link you posted youve just not noticed it

start menu
$OEM$\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
and in you anser file
<UseConfigurationSet>true</UseConfigurationSet>
<UseConfigurationSet>true</UseConfigurationSet> Bad idea unless Autounattend.xml is on thumbdrive if its on DVD it will copy whole sources folder to hard driveLook here

I need some help repacking the Registry Mechanic on Inno Setup script.
Here's the thing, i wanted the values in Start Menu Folder to be "Registry Mechanic" during the installation, but i kept getting "(Default)" instead.
I have attached the install script for reference.
Thanks.
You need to goto Program Group in Options in ISTool and set it to Registry MechanicEdited Script:

@All,
Be aware that when you create a bootable Vista DVD with an answer file in the root of the DVD, it will automatically start when you put the DVD in a XP system.
What I mean is the autorun option will start the Vista setup and the vista setup will automatically detect the unattend.xml file in the root of the DVD and setup continues on a system where you only wanted to view the contents of the DVD.
I did experience this myself and lost a very good working XP system that way.
Greetings,
Bitfrotter
Bitfrotter, small hint just in case you don't know pressing shift when inserting cd/dvd disables autorun0 -
Don't mean to rain on your parade but i was wondering can you make a lite version for the latest
Nero-6.6.1.15a,the reason i asked is because i don't have a license for the 7 versions of nero.
Please consider my request.
NCAB (Nero Custom Applications Builder) v2.11 is what you want for Nero-6.6.1.15a very easy to use just edit the script adding features and serial numbers you use.link below

Thanks for your assistance, MHz. Sorry the links didn’t work. The reference to “/whatever” , was not meant as a ‘switch’ but rather what “should” it be or what ‘additional‘ switch did I need to insert. When I used Cmenu, it I.D. the ‘silent’ installer as maybe: PrintKey2000 Setup.exe /s . Since that didn’t ‘completely’ work, I was looking for other options. I have used the nlite addon maker program to make some cab’s in the past and they have worked. But with these two I could not get them to “silently” install. They ‘would’ install, just not ‘silently’. Thus my inquiry. I really appreciate your efforts, however, as previously stated, the “Autoit” stuff is just way over my head.
Thank you anyway for going above and beyond,
Eddie

@ FireGeier,
removing the path section from the xml file works!
(I had tried to leave the value "path" blank from within WSIM, but that didn't work)
<ImageInstall>
<OSImage>
<InstallFrom>
<MetaData wcm:action="add">
<Key>/IMAGE/NAME</Key>
<Value>Windows Vista HomePremium</Value>
</MetaData>
<Path></Path>
</InstallFrom>
<InstallToAvailablePartition>false</InstallToAvailablePartition>
<WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI>Strange, but it works perfectly like u suggested, thanks alot!
remove
<Path></Path>
from .xml file vista doesn't like empty entries that may help

hi,
I am creating an unantended xp, i am using unantendedxp to create it.
Now i'm adding my programs, and there are a few programs in it that don't work.
1. Adobe reader 7
It goed all fine, untill the first setup screen. Then it stops going unatended, and i have to click.
2. Clonedvd
The samething happens as with adobe reader, it asks me to select the language...etc...
3. OO Defrag Pro
When i try to add it to the list with programs, it gives me the error that it can't find OODefragPro in my appswitch.dat. While it is in there, and my folder has the correct name.
4. Winrar
Everithing goed ok. But when installing from runonceex tester, it shows a .cmd screen. And later i find out it has been installed, but it does'nt appear in the "remove or add" program list.
Below i place a piece of my appswitch.dat, of the 3 apps mentioned above. I hace checked the apps folders more then 3 times, and compared it with appswitch.dat
Can anyone help me?
