  1. @996: If you check the file version of Firefox's setup.exe (in 0.9) it is also 1.0.0.2. So, since firefox already has 1.0.0.2 for a setup, I followed your directions, but still didn't get the silent install working. ]Bonkers[

  3. Hi, I have a laser printer right now (Samsung ML-1430), but it will need to be returned because it is acting up. Something I didn't think about when I bought the laser printer was duplexing. Does anyone know of a laser printer (for home or small small business) that features auto-duplexingin or can be fitted with a seperate duplexer and has a reasonable price. Thanks ]Bonkers[
  4. I was also looking today at trying to get aston to install silently. I believe it is an Inno install, but so far I haven't had any luck with the standard switches. I am going to try some stuff and post back later. As for opera look here or here or here. I could go on, but nah... I think one of those will work. ]Bonkers[
  5. Hi, since someone was asking about how to change the target directory during installation, I was curious if all of the installers allow the program group (or group folder) to be changed. I know for for: Inno it is /GROUP="folder name" InstallShield can be done through setup.iss Does anyone know how/if able to do this for NSIS, msi and Wise ? Thanks ]Bonkers[
  6. Thank you so much. I know it was a silly question and probably stupid, but it just didn't occur to look there. I did a search also on the net, but I couldn't think of what the side panel thing was called :S. Thanks Doggie ]Bonkers[
  7. Hi, I am missing the side bar in My Computer, My Music, My Pictures, etc. The side bar I am referring to is the (if you have the luna theme) the blue side bar on the left hand side. It has things like System Tasks, Other Places, Details. I can someone tell me how to get it back. I looked at the View settings on the toolbar, but I didn't see anything there that might be able to turn it on. Thanks ]Bonkers[
  8. I was able to slipstream SP1 a long time ago into my windows xp so I figured I would try that to see if I could do that. Unfortunately, even that I can't get to work. The applying box comes up starts copying over the files, but after a while it just closes. If I try to apply it again, it gets a little further, but eventually it stopped going further and closes the minute it is opened. Any ideas? ]Bonkers[
  9. Hi, I am having troubles slipstreaming SP2 RC1. I copied all the files to a folder on my harddrive, then I extracted the service pack using the -x command. Then I tried to apply the service pack using the -S:C:\Folder of WindowsXP. The slipstreaming box comes up, but it just closes after copying some files without an error message. Is there a log anywhere, or does anyone have any ideas? Thanks ]Bonkers[
  10. I am using an English version of Windows XP SP1 Corporate edition. I haven't had a problem normally with unattended stuff. Is there something specific you want me to do while I am testing? ]Bonkers[
  11. @Borg and nuhi: and I said In my install, calc and paint were removed. Just thought I would point that out incase you missed it. ]Bonkers[
  12. Ok, I did another install, this time removing even more components than the last time (even though most were languages). I still don't have the luna theme. I am using the classic. Also, I have two shortcuts in my accessories, calculator and character map. They aren't linking to anything because I guess I removed the file, but the icons are left over. I haven't tested printer support or driver support yet. Once I get the theme worked out, I will do another test, but I won't emulate using Virtual PC, ]Bonkers[ nLite.log nLite.log

  14. Ok, I tried again using the .94 beta (thank goodness for Virtual PC ) Internet Explorer works this time. The hardware tab under system properties is there too now. I am going to play around with more settings and get back to you with bugs (if I find anything) or suggestions. Great program by the way. ]Bonkers[
  15. Hi, I am sorry to post this, I tried different things, but unfortunately, I get the same result (at least as to what I can see). I took my SP1 cd, copied it completely over and then slipstream SP2 RC1 using nLite 9.3. Here is my selected.ini file. Now, Internet Explorer doesn't work. Brings up a box about choosing a program to run it. When I bring up my system properties I don't even have a Hardware Tab. I have been asssigned to workgroup "workgroup" but my winnt.sif says it should be 674. But, my computer name is correct, desktop. All of my backgrounds are gone, I have the windows classic theme (not the XP luna theme). I am 99.9% sure that it is something I am doing, but I am not sure what. I would like to see my Hardware tab, the windows luna theme, and the backgrounds. I would like to be assigned to 674 too. If anyone could light a candle upstairs for me, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance ]Bonkers[ nLite.log nLite.log
  16. Hi, I am not sure of the method name that I use to install the hotfixes, but simply put... I just install each hotfix seperatly (no slipstream). ECHO Installing Rollup Update 1start /wait %systemdrive%\Installs\Hotfixes\RU1\KB826939.exe /Q /O /N /Z ECHO.ECHO Installing SP2 HotfixesECHO Installing Type 1 Hotfixesfor %%i in (%systemdrive%\Installs\Hotfixes\Type1\*.exe) do start /wait %%i /Q /O /N /ZECHO Installing Type 2 Hotfixesfor %%i in (%systemdrive%\Installs\Hotfixes\Type2\*.exe) do start /wait %%i /q:a /r:nBut, the Rollup Update and KB835732 aren't reconized as being installed. Is it that it is installed correctly, but windows update is just dumb? Is there a program to verify if the hotfixes have been installed correctly? Any ideas Thanks Philip

  19. To the admins/mods sorry if this is in the wrong forum I am just copying the files extracted from the zip file (downloaded from mozilla.com) to $Progs\MozillaFirebird. I am curious how to add extensions. I am not sure how they are installed really. I use firebird and installs them and all, but does it write any registry settings? (I don't think so, but who knows). I see where the extensions (.jar) are put $Progs\MozillaFirebird\chrome. I also noticed in the install.log that each folder with files is "Registered" Tabbrowser Preferences (version 0.4) ---------------------- ** initInstall: 0 [1/8] Installing: C:\Program Files\MozillaFirebird\chrome\tabprefs.jar [2/8] Register Content: jar:resource:/chrome/tabprefs.jar!/content/tabprefs/ [3/8] Register Locale: jar:resource:/chrome/tabprefs.jar!/locale/en-US/tabprefs/ [4/8] Register Locale: jar:resource:/chrome/tabprefs.jar!/locale/fr-FR/tabprefs/ [5/8] Register Locale: jar:resource:/chrome/tabprefs.jar!/locale/de-DE/tabprefs/ [6/8] Register Locale: jar:resource:/chrome/tabprefs.jar!/locale/nl-NL/tabprefs/ [7/8] Register Locale: jar:resource:/chrome/tabprefs.jar!/locale/sv-SE/tabprefs/ [8/8] Register Locale: jar:resource:/chrome/tabprefs.jar!/locale/it-IT/tabprefs/ Where is it registering and how can I do that manually? Or, is it that I can just copy my C:\Program Files\MozillaFirebird directory and just have it copy over during my unattended and all my extensions are good to go? What role does the profile directory have? I have installed Flash 7 and noticed a plugins.dat file. Thanks in advance for an shedding of light in my direction ]Bonkers[

  22. Thanks gophtc. What you posted I understand better now, but I believe that will only integrate it into IE. Any idea how to intergrate it into IE and Mozilla? Thanks
  23. Can someone show me how to install this plugin for Explorer and Mozilla? I have gone to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/...ide/silent.html, yet I am finding it difficult to determine if my ADDLOCAL should be all or jrecore and then if it is ALL what about ,extra :S. Any examples would be great. Thanks ]Bonkers[
