  1. Thanks! Testing now with HFSLIP 1.7.6...
  2. My vote for avast! 4.8 Pro
  3. "Since the X86-64 architecture includes hardware-level support for 32-bit instructions, WOW64 switches the process between 32- and 64-bit modes. As a result, X86-64 architecture microprocessors incur no performance loss when executing 32-bit Windows applications." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP_Pr...e_compatibility "64-bit versions of Windows do not support 16-bit components, 16-bit processes, or 16-bit applications" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896458/en-us/ "Any 16-bit programs will not run (32-bit software with 16-bit installers based on ACME Setup versions 2.6, 3.0, 3.01, and 3.1 and InstallShield versions 5.x will run correctly)" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP_Pr...on#Known_issues I think it applies to Vista x64 too.
  4. In silent update to 1.4.5.4 the specific fixes are: - Slipstream update.exe directly (when you extract SP) - Slipstream XP SP3 into XP RTM (SP0) under Vista, CDKey issue
  5. What do you mean by "integrity installation"?
  6. Sorry nuhi I forgot that Hotlinking doesn't work. BTW zipzap, I prefer to download from nliteos.com because of the silent updates...
  7. "Because Windows XP Professional x64 Edition is derived from the Windows Server 2003 codebase, its service packs are also developed and released on the same timeline as the server product, instead of the other editions of Windows XP. For this reason, the RTM installation of Windows XP Professional x64 Edition identifies itself as "Service Pack 1". Quote from Wikipedia.org

  9. I just noticed the file installed in ProgramData folder after install is just "Skype.msi" so I changed the command line to start /wait msiexec /i Skype.msi INSTALLLEVEL=1 STARTSKYPE=FALSE ALLUSERS=1 TRANSFORMS=:RemoveStartup.mst TRANSFORMS=:RemoveDesktopShortcut.mst /qr
  10. I tried running your command line from a .cmd file with the .msi file and it didn't work
  11. Works fine here.

  15. The MSDN full retail and volume license .ISO installs of Windows XP SP3 are available since May 2, so... I don't know. http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPo...2&SiteID=17

  18. There is no install file for KB892130 to my knowledge; you can download LegitCheckControl.cab and slipstream it with HFSLIP. KB905474 is the "Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications application" and KB892130 is the "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool"; they're different things.
  19. I have repaired that kind of problems with Dial-a-fix v0.60.0.24 in XP, but sadly it's not yet compatible with Vista... You can check the wiki for tips, however, to see if it's of any help http://wiki.djlizard.net/Main_Page

  21. I'm having the same issue with my vanilla Spanish XP SP2, using HFSLIP or nLite for the integration makes no difference; it hangs and reboots again and again with those "not enough memory..." or "write error..." messages
  22. You can also try SUPER (freeware) "SUPER © Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer. A GUI to ffmpeg, MEncoder, mplayer, x264, mppenc, ffmpeg2theora & the theora/vorbis RealProducer plugIn. If you need a simple, yet very efficient tool to convert (encode) or play any Multimedia file, without reading manuals or spending long hours training, then SUPER © is all you need. It is a Multimedia Encoder and a Multimedia Player, easy-to-use with 1 simple click." http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
  23. WindowsUpdate? Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer? http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...a2/default.mspx Camarade_Tux beat me to it. Yes you can also use HFNetChk; is what TommyP recommends to check after HFSLIPing.
  24. You can just use the following command instead of BootVis: rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks This is from the tools of the excellent Dial-a-fix utility.http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix
