  1. Ok, I just sent mritter a donation $10, not much but i know every bit helps. (It should at least buy you Dinner, LOL) Keep up the good work. Now come to think about it, it has been 3 years, I had to stop as I was moving from NV to CA. LOL Now i am moving from CA, back to NV. (Work transferring me again, but this time for good.) Looking forward to coming back to try out WPI in a month or so after the move. Until then take care.
  2. Man O man It been a long time since i was here last. Been to busy with life the last few years to mess with my computers. Last I was on here was in 2006? I think. I have to say you guys have come a long way. I remember 2.* days and when we moved to 3.* I just downloaded 7.5 And I have to say i am really really impressed. You guys have made great improvements. One of these day I will have to sit down and learn this all over again LOL keep up the great work guys, I am glad to see this has not died out. - Albert P.S. If I donate does it go to both of you or do I need to donate to both?
  3. Love the look of the new site. Gives it that "Real" software feel. People should feel WPI is profesional now, rather than just some software some people help make. Everything is starting to look more profesional. Keep it up. If anyone is good at "Flash" I think it would be kinda cool to have a interactive walkthough on the website to help show the different areas of WPI and how to configure it via Videos (Flash)
  4. I am in need of your assistance. I am working on trying to get the last little bit of the Theme and Layout selector working. Just need it to do some error checking prior to loading. I need to do a check on about 50+ files (The graphics and such) I need the system to check an make sure the file is there and if not a message pops up and lets the user know what files are missing and then notify them that Theme is switching to "Classic Theme". What is the easiest way to do this as I am not sure? I need something like this if (!FileExists(wpipath + " Themes\\" + Theme + "\\ allbutton.gif")) { alert(“allbutton.gif file does not exist.\n\nSwitching to 'Classic', the default Theme."); Theme='Classic'; return false; } But I would need to do this for every file in the folder. Is there an easier way to do this than have 50+ “FileExists” checks? I would want it to list out all missing files onscreen once the checks are done, not every check, maybe also have the list sent to a debug file for later use so that can check what files are missing. Also I would need it to check to see if the current selected theme is “Classic” and if it is and is missing files to report “Classic Theme damaged. Please reinstall!” Then exit program. Let me know if you have an easy solution. Thank you, - Albert
  5. Need everyone’s opinion. Ok, I have got a section of the Theme Wizard made, just need to add it into the newest version (as it was made for pre Ver 5.0) The section I have completed is the one most everyone will appreciate. I have been working on making options in the “Options Screen” that will allow you to select which “Theme” you would like to use but in a much easier way. What you will be able to do is select the “Theme Graphics” and then the “Theme Layout” to use. This means, that layout that someone made that you love but hate there graphics they used in there “Theme” you can now use there “Layout” with someone else’s “Graphics”. The next benefit to this is that in the near future you will have control over the color for each “Theme”. So there will be no need to manually go and find all the little areas where it changes color or font or font style and edit them in notepad or something. Additionally each “Theme” will be able to have its own colors for everything including the “ToolTips” so you can make it match for each “Theme”. And you will be able to change them all with in the program. The other advantage of this is , it will make it so that all you need to do is make graphics for the themes and not worry about the WPI.HTM file needing to be updated ever time there is a new release. The WPI.HTM file might not change much in future release or at all, even if it does the programmers will only have a few files to change to make the update, and not have to update every “Theme” like they currently have to. Which means upon each new release, the “Theme(s)” you like and use will already be compatible with the new versions as they are released. Now here is where I need everyone’s opinion. The current way it works is that once you select your “Theme Graphics” it will show you a preview of the Graphics but not the layout. The preview is will show will mainly depend upon the screen capture that the creator makes and uses as a preview which will be shrunk down to width:250px and height:188px. Now when you select a layout there will be no preview of the layout only the graphics part. That is unless people decide to have two preview screens one for the graphics and one for the layout. As the layout preview would work the same as the “Graphics” preview (Snapshot). Would you like 2 preview screens or just the graphics one? Another question. I am also going to work on making the previews larger and trying to merge them into one live preview. That is the current selected “Theme” and “Layout” would show us just as they would if you loaded it. (Would take a lot of programming) The way of making work is have a full screen view come up and you would need to click (Exit) to exit out of it. I feel it would be easier to just reloaded WPI to see what it would look like. It would take the same amount of mouse clicks and load time either way. (Thoughts) So the two questions are: Question 1: One or two Preview Screens – One for the “Theme Graphics” and one for the “Theme Layout” Question 2: Use Full screen live preview or just reload WPI to see combined looks? – (Note: would take the same amount of mouse clicks and load time either way.) Please post all questions and thoughts. Thank you, Albert
  6. Well I must say it is good to be back. It has been some months now that I have been gone. Afte moving to CA. Alot has happend in my life and just have not had the time to even thing about continuing where I left off. Well if anyone remembers I was working on a Theme Wizard, I got a good section of it done, but that was about 4 months ago when I last worked on it. Alot has changed in WPI since I have been gone. I must say good work to all who has done work on it. And now that I am back I will start up again where I left off so so long ago. Just wanted to say hello and that I am back and working again. I know some of you have been looking forward to seeing the Theme Wizard finished. Well I am of to working again. (Please Note I dont have a lot of free time but I will work on it.) P.S. If anyone has a LCD monitor they are willing to let go of, I really could use one my whole pc took a crap when moving (Got smashed) Thanks all.
  7. I have been working on this very idea for some time. Have it complete but not the way I want. I have many more things to add, It will still be some time before completed, as I dont have much free time after work. But glad to see someone else would like to see the same thing. Thanks
  8. Use 1024X768 on all 4 computer, home and work, but use an odd sized on mylaptop. Dumpy Dooby: as far as having 3 monitors, you can use just about any video card, they have special adapters out there you can put inline and use with to add more monitor outpus. Another option is they also make a USB to Monitor output device, about $100 for each one, come with software and work perfict. I have personaly seen 8 monitors all hooked up at one on one computer. (Seen at an electronics show) They were playing some kinda filght sim that you could have up to 16 used at the same time to see all around you up, down, and side to side. 3 in front 2 in rear one below him and 1 on each side of him. It was something else to look at freeking amzing. the main reason they were using it was to show off the usb to monitor adapter, they were using a AMD 64XP 2.4ghz 2GB MEM so it can be done I am looking at getting a few for myself. Hope that answers your question.
  9. Sorry sadicq I have the need for your help with one more that I completely missed. document.write("<font class=\"side\" onClick=\"StopAudio(); stopInterval(); CreateFile('install');\" onMouseDown=\"InstallButtonDownPic;\" onMouseOver=\"InstallButtonOverPic; stm(getText(ttInstall),Style[0]);\" onMouseOut=\"InstallButtonPic;\ htm();\" />" + "<i>" + "<b>" + getText(lblInstall) + "</b>" + "</i>" + "</font>"); So if you could make this one also work, tha would be great. If all goes well I might have this section of my project done (Finally a month and a half later) Thank You -Albert Update: Just noticeed your post must have been doing it the same time I was. Thanks for the explination. I will use that info. But if you could (Since you are much quicker and know what you are doing could you still edit the above code for me? Thanks)
  10. Works, Thanks man. I just can't seem to figure out the codes of why use ' and other times use " and also the use of \ Can you point me in the right direction on this? Or elaborat on it some. Thank you so much.
  11. Although that code might work I prefer to have the var defiended with in a function with in a seperate .js I have other things using the vars. I found out why my var were not working and how have them reciving the info, but if you could help me get my code working now. document.write("<img src=\"InstallButtonPic;\" align=\"absbottom\" class=\"mainbtn\" border=\"0\" name=\"continuebutton\" id=\"continuebutton\" onClick=\"StopAudio(); stopInterval(); CreateFile('install');\" onMouseDown=\"InstallButtonDownPic;\" onMouseOver=\"InstallButtonOverPic; stm(getText(ttInstall),Style[0]);\" onMouseOut=\"InstallButtonPic;\ htm();\" />"); Thanks -Albert
  12. thats kinda what I had at one point but what i need is the ability to have a var there that I can change when needed. each pic in the line (all 4) need them to become a var so I can change it as needed. if that means having it run to a function that is ok, but need to be able to make the var any pic I want. I am currently using if statments to have it select 1 out of 3 possible pics for each and every pic with in the wpi.htm file, but with so many if statments it is causing weird things. When moving the mouse over one button and the over another button back and forth rapidly the pic will dissapear and not come back until the screen is refreshed. So I need to get the if statments out and make only one set that runs at the begining and just changes a var. Here is an example of what I currently have. This is with in the WPI.htm file (I use somthing just like it for each button. <!-- The Install button. --> <div id="InstallButton"> <script language="javascript"> LoadInstallpic(); </script> <br> </div> This is with in a .js file function LoadInstallpic() { if (ButtonType =='p') { document.write("<img src=\"./themes/" + Theme + "/installbutton.gif\" align=\"absbottom\" class=\"mainbtn\" border=\"0\" name=\"continuebutton\" id=\"continuebutton\" onClick=\"StopAudio(); stopInterval(); CreateFile('install');\" onMouseDown=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installdown.gif';\" onMouseOver=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installover.gif'; stm(getText(ttInstall),Style[0]);\" onMouseOut=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installbutton.gif';\ htm();\" />"); } if (ButtonType =='pt'){ document.write("<img src=\"./themes/" + Theme + "/installbutton.gif\" align=\"absbottom\" class=\"mainbtn\" border=\"0\" name=\"continuebutton\" id=\"continuebutton\" onClick=\"StopAudio(); stopInterval(); CreateFile('install');\" onMouseDown=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installdown.gif';\" onMouseOver=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installover.gif'; stm(getText(ttInstall),Style[0]);\" onMouseOut=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installbutton.gif';\ htm();\" />"); document.write("<font class=\"side\" onClick=\"StopAudio(); stopInterval(); CreateFile('install');\" onMouseDown=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installdown.gif';\" onMouseOver=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installover.gif'; stm(getText(ttInstall),Style[0]);\" onMouseOut=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installbutton.gif';\ htm();\" />" + "<i>" + "<b>" + getText(lblInstall) + "</b>" + "</i>" + "</font>"); } if (ButtonType =='t'){ document.write("<font class=\"side\" onClick=\"StopAudio(); stopInterval(); CreateFile('install');\" onMouseOver=\"stm(getText(ttInstall),Style[0]);\" onMouseOut=\"htm();\" />" + "<i>" + "<b>" + getText(lblInstall) + "</b>" + "</i>" + "</font>"); } } It seems that each time I move the mouse over a button it runs down the whole if list. and that is what is causing my problem. So I am trying to have the WPI.htm run a Loadpicvar(); function at load time with the Loadpicvar(); function haveing something like this function Loadpicvar() { if (ButtonType =='p') { InstallButtonDownPic="./themes/" + Theme + "/installdown.gif"; InstallButtonOverPic="./themes/" + Theme + "/installover.gif"; InstallButtonPic="./themes/" + Theme + "/installbutton.gif"; ttInstall=''; } if (ButtonType =='pt') { InstallButtonDownPic="./themes/" + Theme + "/installdown.gif"; InstallButtonOverPic="./themes/" + Theme + "/installover.gif"; InstallButtonPic="./themes/" + Theme + "/installbutton.gif"; } if (ButtonType =='t') { InstallButtonDownPic="./Common/spacer.gif"; InstallButtonOverPic="./Common/spacer.gif"; InstallButtonPic="./Common/spacer.gif"; } And then having the WHI.HTM having something like this <div id="InstallButton"> <script language="javascript"> document.write("<img src=\"InstallButtonPic;\" align=\"absbottom\" class=\"mainbtn\" border=\"0\" name=\"continuebutton\" id=\"continuebutton\" onClick=\"StopAudio(); stopInterval(); CreateFile('install');\" onMouseDown=\"InstallButtonDownPic;\" onMouseOver=\"InstallButtonOverPic; stm(getText(ttInstall),Style[0]);\" onMouseOut=\"InstallButtonPic;\ htm();\" />"); </script> <br> </div> Hope that is a little more detailed for you. and that you now understand what it is I am looking to do. Again Thanks for your help -Albert
  13. hopeing you guys can help me out again Here is the current code (working) document.write("<img src=\"./themes/" + Theme + "/installbutton.gif\" align=\"absbottom\" class=\"mainbtn\" border=\"0\" name=\"continuebutton\" id=\"continuebutton\" onClick=\"StopAudio(); stopInterval(); CreateFile('install');\" onMouseDown=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installdown.gif';\" onMouseOver=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installover.gif'; stm(getText(ttInstall),Style[0]);\" onMouseOut=\"document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installbutton.gif';\ htm();\" />"); This is what I am hoping to change it to (not working) document.write("<img src=\"InstallButtonPic;\" align=\"absbottom\" class=\"mainbtn\" border=\"0\" name=\"continuebutton\" id=\"continuebutton\" onClick=\"StopAudio(); stopInterval(); CreateFile('install');\" onMouseDown=\"InstallButtonDownPic;\" onMouseOver=\"InstallButtonOverPic; stm(getText(ttInstall),Style[0]);\" onMouseOut=\"InstallButtonPic;\ htm();\" />"); I am trying to have it show a pic, but load it from a var instead of pointing to the file directly The code i am trying to use to for the value of the var = to the file location (not working) InstallButtonDownPic="document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installdown.gif' "; InstallButtonOverPic="document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installover.gif ''; InstallButtonPic="document.continuebutton.src='./themes/" + Theme + "/installbutton.gif' "; But it is not working can you help please, I have tried several dozen or so things but with no luck. Thank you. -Albert
  14. Continue to have this problem. When transitions are inabled along with a shadow shown. that is the effect given. Anyone what to take a crack at fixing it. It really makes me poved i cant have it all. Just kidding but I am bumed. -Albert
  15. Have you tryed just slipstriming the updates into office2003 That is the best way to do it, just like you can do with windows.
  16. Well I am done moving to CA. Now all I have to do is go throguh the 100 some boxes of stuff and get the net up and running and I can start working were I left off. Should take me about a week to do if all goes well. Well thats about all there is to report now. (Thank goodness for work's internet.) Catch ya all later - Albert
  17. Do you have "No Column Breaks in Catagories" Checked it so try unchecking it. also it you want it checked mess around with "Catagories Sort Order". Also set "Number of colums" to "3"". If those methods dont work you just might have to have 2 pages.
  18. tested the problem in IE7 - Well alteast MS fixed that problem. Anyone want to redo tips.js? (Maybe even fix the shadow and transperancy issues with png's) Let me know if this gets started. (Any changes to tips might make me need to redo tooltips theme editor that I am making, but easy to fix.)
  19. Ok so no shaddow and no transparency are alowed when using png's? That sucks! Is there no way to get around this?
  20. removed the value shadow type and still nothing changes (Well I don't have a shadow and more.) A value "2" and "1" are both good values for shadows (FYI)
