i use the 3rd driver pack for vmware with bashrats driverpack ... so the driver for vga is actually installed before and i can set this res, but in my case its 1280/1024 and thats a bit to high for a window installation in vmware you can find it here, its called "DriverPack Virtual (aka VMware): 6.11.27"

do you mean, that when testing in vmware the resultion should be 1024/768 and otherwise the res specified in the winnt.sif ? if this is possibly i would like to know it, too

had tryied it before ... but then a message appears saying that the restore pont was succesfully set under the name XPize bla bla bla ... and you also have to klick ok forgot to write this ... :/

same problem with the /s switch ... if the system restoring is disabled a window pops up saying that the point creation failed and you have to click ok to go on, that isn't really silent hope could be fixed fast
