  1. Enabling NCQ doesn't work here (I don't have that option). It may only be avalaible on Nforce chipset (Intel here). But no one really answered my question above: If I configure my drive with AHCI, does that mean I will have to do a full format like devouz said? If so, only the drive I'm installing XP? Or ALL of them?
  2. Thanks BikinDutchman (and others!). Last thing, will I need to do a complete format?
  3. Well, I don't have a floppy drive. That's why I want to integrate the driver with nLite. I just don't know which one to choose. Also, you say I will need to do a COMPLETE format? To all partitions? Or only the C: partition? If it's a complete format, do I need to do this on my two HD?
  4. Hey all For the last five months, I have been running my SATA controller(ICH8R) as IDE. Today, I thought "hey, my HD(7200.8) has NCQ, why not use it?" and I want to use that capability. I plan also to buy a new HD with NCQ (7200.10). I did a little reseach and found the driver for the installation. The problem is, I don't know which inf to choose. I have iaahci.inf and iastor.inf, both look very similar and have my controller. I know that the whole folder will be integrated, but does it make a difference which file I choose? Another thing: Do I need the press F6 when that screen appears? Or it will load automatically? Thanks for the answers, this is my first time with this SATA drivers thingy. EDIT: Does the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager (iata76_enu.exe) is needed after the installation?
  5. In your preset, you did not remove any components, you just selected four compatibility settings!
  6. Well, I would rather not install .NET Framework because I only use it for nLite. nLite Framework is also a lot cleaner than the original, meaning the uninstallation doesn't leave anything behind. If I have no choice but to use .NET, then I'll use it, otherwise, I'll use the alternative. @nuhi: The nLite framework worked fine with the previous releases.
  7. I get the same error on multiple fresh installs.
  8. MDAC (in component) is required for the installer of Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts.
  9. Well, I just did some testing with 7-8 tests in VirtualBox and I found the component needed: MDAC. Case closed.
  10. The title says it all. The Opposing Fronts (Company of Heroes btw) installer is not working (or should I say, not starting). The autorun runs fine, but setup.exe and gameInst.exe are starting for half a second and close. No error displayed, in temps folders or in event viewer. My copy is fine and is working because in Virtualbox, no problem at all, so it is caused by a component(s) I removed. I got the same problem with my other computer with a similar nLite config. Anyone have the same problem? I don't want to spend hours and hours to locate the component the installer need. EDIT: The COH original installer works fine. nLite.ini
  11. Thanks for the information. I guess I will reinstall this month...
  12. flash.ocx was the problem. Thanks for your help. This file is not part of Flash Player? I always thought so and that's why I removed it. Do you know if I can put this file where it belongs and register it to fix the problem? If yes, where do I put this file?
  13. Quick update: It doesn't work with an install on real hardware. But, I noticed something in the control panel: it shows an empty line with just the folder icon. This thing only appears when I don't select Task Scheduler.
  14. First, I want to thank you nuhi for the great work you are doing with nLite (vLite too!). Back on topic, I nLited a copy of XP to test under VPC 2007 with Task Scheduler to see if the boot would be faster (even if it's a VM), because I don't have it installed on my current installation. The thing is, Task Scheduler is not present in services.msc and the prefetch is obviously not working. Does this service need something else? Can someone put light into this? LAST_SESSION.INI
  15. Sorry then, I just thought that if the program started fine, it would work. My mystake!
  16. This error happens with vLite 0.9 beta. When I try to load the folder with the Vista installation files, I get this error. I'm running XP SP2 nLited. See bottom for the last_session.ini, if help. See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Xml, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. 17. Thanks nuhi, I guess I searched the wrong thing.
  18. I have removed ACM Core Codecs from my copy of Windows, but I would like to play FEAR. The result is that I have no sound in game. How can I restore the codecs WITHOUT reinstalling XP?
