  1. Ok. I managed to change the theme modifying the file Preferences (/Chrome/User Data/Default). Open it and search "jisu9" (there is only one match) And change --> "id": "jisu9_dark", to --> "id": "jisu9_chrome", That worked for me on 13.0.2250.0 Edit: This is to change it to the light theme.
  2. I tested if changing directly the theme in the page "https://skin.chrome.360.cn/new/index.php" could affect that connection. I changed to the white version that is at the left of the one that looks completely black and when I open the bookmark manager it does not connect anymore to the cloudflare IP and the image I mentioned before does not load or appear in the developer tools. I changed back to the dark theme again and it connected to cloudflare. It is the theme. Is there a way to change the theme of the browser without connecting to that ".cn" page? Cheers.
  3. Maybe. I will search more. Thanks. If i have problems I will let you know. That is really my interest. I want to make a simple, well written and simplified guide to remove all undesireble conecctions that the browser makes to navigate the internet with peace. It would be interesting.
  4. I have tested it and it connects to a cloudflare IP. It looks like you managed to cut it off
  5. I have the build I will test right now. Do not worry I know how hard is to organize information. I think this browser has a lot of potential. I think the users who abandoned it were because it was Chinese and not secure, but having things too easy isn't that much fun, is it?
  6. Ok. I tried but it did not work. Well it is not that a big deal. Thanks for the answer. Nice to hear that. I was going to mess with the original v13. Yesterday I discovered that when I open the bookmark manager, the browser connects to a cloudflare IP address (in version 13.0.2250.0). Apparently that IP is related to China. I don't know how to remove that connection. I have searched with the developer tools (on the bookmark manager page) for the link that might be related to that IP address and there is an image that loads from a link ("p7.qhimg.com"). The image is minimal and it's a bit odd that I don't see it in the bookmark manager when it loads (maybe it's because of how small it is?). I was then trying to find the bookmark manager files among the browser files and I still can't find them. Maybe this is one of the connections you are blocking on your hosts file.
  7. Hello! Try this: https://www.bleachbit.org/ There are some good opinions about it here: https://alternativeto.net/software/bleachbit/about/ Cheers.
  8. @NoNameNeeded I have tested the version 13.0.2250.0 of the Russian Repack following exactly the same procedure as for version 13.0.2206.0 (without step F) and I am not getting Chinese IP addresses in TcpLogView. Because of this strange problem you have I would like you to give more details of those connections you are getting. Cheers.
  9. Ok. I stated in the comment that I added some options in the browser's preferences that "may improve performance". If you use a newer v13 than the one I tested, I think connections with chinese IP addresses can occur. When the latest version of RR v13 is released, I will update the .txt files.
  10. Ok. Tell me, did you follow the exact procedure in the .txt file that most corresponds to your browser's version? Cheers.
  11. From the Russian Repack v11 and up the .cmd file is displayed in english, that comment was referring to the 9.5.0.138 RR version. Hmm that is weird, tell me the version of the browser and from where it was downloaded.
  12. I had already made some changes before to other files before posting that comment. What I was trying to say is that the only .dll file I had to modify with HxD in order to get rid of the rest of the chinese IP addresses was the chrome.dll file. Take a look at the .txt files on: https://msfn.org/board/topic/182304-extreme-explorer-360-chromium-78-86-general-discussion/page/26/?tab=comments#comment-1200299
  13. Ok. I pasted them in the comment: https://msfn.org/board/topic/182304-extreme-explorer-360-chromium-78-86-general-discussion/page/26/?tab=comments#comment-1200299 Tell me if its clear. I replaced every ".cn" I really think that not all of them make connections in the background. The thing is to verify which of them you want to eliminate. But that is pretty hard jajaja.
  14. I tested the 360 EE Russian Repack v9, v11, v12 and v13 (the last version of v13 isn't out yet), the pastebin link contains the information needed to prevent the browser from connecting to Chinese IP addresses and some options in the browser's preferences that I think may improve performance. I would like that people test this. This is a not very clean way to remove unwanted connections of this browser, however, it works (so far). Maybe with some help some of the changes can be much cleaner and even provide a decent build based in the Russian Repack or in the original version of this browser. Notes ---> https://pastebin.com/d1iTeFRa * Programs used: - 7zip - HxD Hex Editor - TcpLogView - And the page https://ip-info.org/en/ to verify the remote addresses you will get in TcpLogView. * Screenshots of section "B" before-after "appstore.js" modification: Before: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uJtOd_ZUkeRpC36JrR3q8DfDuN6bO2Wd/view?usp=sharing After: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EBc2S4uOM3s_2q9NvJ0PegNufqHWxk2-/view?usp=sharing Cheers.
  15. I understood why you don't get that connection that I said, it only comes out in the original version, not in the Russian version (original v12 so far). I mixed the files, I am going to correct my comment.
  16. Oh ok, sorry. I was seeing that every time I launched the browser it connected to an IP (180.163.242.72). And it was hard to find out that that was the issue because I could not identify the file making the connection.
  17. Oh, ok I get it. Thanks. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y4hmGLxD_Mi9D8ptqCd8hiEqsTU_R6fz/view?usp=sharing (screenshot). In HxD Hex Editor you can search with CTRL+F for "Hexadecimal Values". I could not insert the screenshot directly in the answer. I will when the last v13 come out, but maybe I will do it before. Either way I will post here the test with that version. I would like to attach screenshots directly in the messages, do not know if there is a way. If you want you only need to use TcpLogView program (https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/tcp_log_view.html) and test the browser opening some tabs (while you have that program opened) and searching the locations of the "Remote Addresses" you will get on https://ip-info.org/. In general if you open Google, Duckduckgo, Gmail and Youtube you will only get US IP addresses. It might open others but not from China. If you get one from China something in the chrome.dll file or in another file is the problem. And I want to ask something, is there any way the browser can send data to china other than establishing connections with ip addresses that can be seen in a program like TCPview, like some sort of hidden connection? I think it can't be done but since it was relatively easy to prevent it from connecting to chinese servers I'm kind of paranoid.
  18. I tested the Original Browser vs the Russian Repack and they are the same in performance and in the connections with chinese IP addresses. I am a little confused by the claims that in the russian repack was removed telemetry stuff. Also an update of the codes that I replaced in chrome.dll is that the hexadecimal code "33 00 36 00 30" has to be replaced by something like this "2e 00 2e 00 2e" (original browser v12 so far). You can use the symbols you prefer but keep the "00".
  19. Hello! here is an update for the removal of the telemetry of the next version of the browser. It worked very well! 360 EE 11.0.2251.0 (Russian Repack) All steps A), B), C), D) and F) from before are the same for on this version. The E) step for this version is the following: 1) In "Basics": I unchecked the following: - "Show recommend words". - "Show addressbar suggest". 2) In "UI style": I unchecked the following: - "Always show search-box". - "Always show status bar". - "Enable intelligent URL (Recommended)". - "Enable url autocomplete". - "Show copy paste helper". 3) In "Download": I unchecked the following: - "Use thunder p2sp download.". - "Enable saving images quickly.". 4) In "Personal stuff": I unchecked the following: - "Prompt the user while saving password.". - "Enable Autofill to fill out web forms in a single click.". 5) In "Advanced": I unchecked the following: - "Enable speed optimizations". - "Enable smooth scrolling". - "Use a prediction service to load pages more quickly". - "join user experience plan to help us improve our products". 6) In "Lab": I unchecked the following: - "Use hardware acceleration when available". - "IE kernal popup opens in a new tab". - "IE kernal enable data execution prevention(DEP)". - "support native accessbility". - "Power Save". I checked the following: - "Disable And Hide Snap Plugin In Toolbar". PD: There are few updates but I wanted to write E) all again so that no confusion is possible. I will test the version 12.0.1592.0 later. In addition, some of the unchecked options are for perfomance concerns only (I wanted to disable them). Cheers.
  20. I have found this. tell me if it works. Source: https://lrepacks.net/repaki-programm-dlya-interneta/182-360-extreme-explorer-amp-portable.html
