  1. honestly i wouldnt know if such an issue is caused by the installer's restore function because i just use SFC if i need the stock system files restored
  2. most of the recent versions of Firefox require at minimum the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable, install that and it should start.
  3. appearently webroot's security definitions are "in the cloud"(you can see this if you click the gear icon on the "my account" section. go to "about SecureAnywhere" and click check for software updates. XP's version of SecureAnywhere also has this same messagebox, but the titlebar text is slightly different) so i dont think security definitions are an issue for XP+.
  4. it does require the sha-2 codesigning updates UNLESS you boot windows using the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" option. otherwise you would get this: (also can you tell how old this vm is) also no. i did not install any updates except KB4474419 and possibly the platform update at the time of that post
  5. the latest version is 9.0.33.35 and it works no kernel version spoofing. (i did have to manually reinstall webroot as it was on 9.0.31.84). im gonna use sfc /scannow to basically reset windows to a fresh state system file wise to verify if it works without the extended kernel. (i'll edit this message with how that went when im done.) EDIT1: appearently webroot decided it wanted me to use 9.0.31.84 just as i was running sfc /scannow. final edit: 9.0.33.35 requires the extended kernel. so you will probably have to copy webroot from Newer OS installation to update it.
  6. i have vista home premium x64 on my Toshiba netbook(64-bit atom era) and it runs fine even with Aero. that laptop is maxed out.(afaik all netbooks max out at 2GB of ram) even the extended kernel works fine.
  7. It doesn't work. upon creating a world the game just locks up after creation and loading. and loading an existing world also results in the same thing.(yes i tried on 1.18, 1.18.1, and 1.19)
  8. Can you change my username to CameronSM36(to match my other accounts on several platforms)
  9. oh. lets address the other issue im having. i posted about it earlier(find the post as it will have context). but alot of applications are failing to start and idk why
  10. it kinda works. i cant test it properly because fsr i cant open anything on server 2008 without an error
  11. the bsods happen on fresh installs of both vista and server 2008. and continues to happen unless i have windows in debug mode. in fact it starts happening happens before the 2nd part of setup after the first reboot from Windows PE. so yeah they happen before i install anything. including the extended kernel. i think i mentioned it before. but i also had this problem on another uefi capable machine
  12. i installed it post extended kernel install iirc.
  13. uh help. i cant open any web browser at all.(this also happens on my thinkpad which is Running Windows Vista Business. so it isnt only a server 2008 thing)
  14. oh i dont use either of those AVs. well any idea on how to fix it. the stop code shows up before the loading bar can(and only if windows is NOT using the /debug boot parameter)
