  1. You obviously make a good point. But maybe @Mathwiz deserves a 'time break' for a bit on doing more 'PULLS' with regard to these RT HELP URLs related to RT's various packages. I think that fixing the NM28 Browser HELP URLs, was likely the best choice, in terms of cutting back on 'unwanted traffic' aimed at PALE MOON websites.
  2. The above URL (from you) SEEMED to load and work okay here in the latest NM28 Browser version. But I did not try EVERYTHING with it. It had 'Build a Bundle' options and like that, fairly complex. I did NOT use those. IF you are using WinXP OS, maybe running CHKDSK.EXE would help.
  3. I just did install (update) the latest NM28 Browser, with the HELP URLs now altered to aim at RT websites. And the NM28 Browser 'Install Upgrade' Screen has been removed, so I only see a 'Globe' there now. This seems a significant improvement. I would guess that even a certain 'MAT' person might agree! Added Later: Probably, more people use the 'New Moon 28' Browser, than any other RT offering. So, that the NM28 Browser HELP URLs are now FIXED to aim at RT websites, is a MAJOR improvement. HELP URLs for other RT 'packages' (BOC EMAILER, etc), can be fixed eventually too. The general strategy for RT's HELP URLs is now a 'defined situation' in my view.
  4. @Mathwiz -- @VistaLover <-- https://msfn.org/board/topic/177125-my-build-of-new-moon-temp-name-aka-pale-moon-fork-targetting-xp/?do=findComment&comment=1165197 The above URL from me still summarizes my views accurately. As to doing it, and 'how much' -- I defer to you both on that aspect. To aim the HELP URLs at RT websites seems reasonable to me. However much that happens, I will be good with it. With my last message here, just noting that MSFN.org based URLs could change. As to what to do about that, I defer to say 'Mathwiz' on that. So, if NOTHING changes, I will still be okay with RT Browsers. But currently, I am just looking for the HELP URLs to aim at RT websites. And removing that 'Installed Page' message that refers and aims at PALE MOON, seems a good idea. Which, that seems to be what 'Mathwiz' wants to do it too (per last message). (For amusement) NOT feeling it here, some special need to CRY HAVOC, and Let Slip The DOGS of RE-BRANDING CONTROVERSY (War). Added Later: I think what 'Mathwiz' said in his last message (above), is winning logic. Added Still Later: 'Mathwiz' has FIXED most of the HELP URLs related to RT's Browsers. And 'Mathwiz' has opened a GITHUB website to help with the overall RT Browser situation: https://msfn.org/board/topic/177125-my-build-of-new-moon-temp-name-aka-pale-moon-fork-targetting-xp/?do=findComment&comment=1167289 Conclusion: There are likely to always be a couple of HELP URLs related to RT's Browsers that might point to a 'wrong' URL somehow. 'Mathwiz' has done what is reasonable to remedy the overall situation. The improvement is significant.
  5. @Mathwiz -- @VistaLover <-- About the URL to this RT FORUM Thread HERE on MSFN.org situation. My GUESS is that a MSFN.org MODERATOR could RENAME a given THREAD, say RT's HERE. Which, doing that RENAMING would CHANGE the URL for RT's THREAD HERE (obviously). It MIGHT be that RT would want to 'clean up' the naming of this RT THREAD HERE (future). It MIGHT have to do with actually say OFFICIALLY NAMING the NEW MOON Browser. So, one MIGHT want to consider this NOW, since you are doing these 'PULLS' and what all, related to changing the HELP URLs for RT's Browsers. WHATEVER you choose to do, is FINE with me, about this MSFN.org 'RT THREAD URL' issue. It just seemed like something to mention it, as worthy of brief consideration.
  6. @roytam1 -- @VistaLover -- @Mathwiz <-- http://www.palemoon.org/unofficial.shtml Okay, I was 'over thinking' this (my view) for NEW MOON Browser. What about to just 'blank out' (remove) this above listed URL ??? So, do NOT open ANY URL at all. Just have a 'blank' Browser Screen open. That way, the reference to PALE MOON disappears. And Users SHOULD then think to use the (Menu) HELP choices. So, you make the HELP choices be URLs that aim at RT websites. Which, there is a clearly misleading ERROR on the HELP = TROUBLSHOOTING INFORMATION It references "New Moon" there, like this --> " ... common questions about New Moon, check out our *support website* ... " And the clickable URL for *support website* = http://www.palemoon.org/support/ Which, that clickable URL needs to instead be aimed at say the MSFN.org RT Forum Area (here). As others suggested, the other (Menu) HELP URLs should aim at appropriate RT websites. Finally, even the BOOKMARKS that come with the NEW MOON Installation, should be CHANGED to aim at instead appropriate RT websites (or be removed), as opposed to PALE MOON websites. Eventually, it will become clear to Users that NEW MOON is a FORK of PALE MOON anyway. Hoping all three of you will agree that this is a good 'quick and dirty' fix for this overall issue. Added later: @Mathwiz has posted just below, and seems to agree with views here. And (thanks!) 'Mathwiz' has taken on the task of doing the 'Github Pull Requests' needed. 'Mathwiz' and 'VistaLover' now seem to share a common cooperative viewpoint. It appears that RT is 'engaged' too. I anticipate significant improvement soon.
  7. Yes, I think that your observations are correct. And, I think that to 'get out front' on this (Naming the 'NEW MOON' Browser and changing the 'successful install' SHTML page content) is the best strategy. And, in my view, the best three to 'work this out' (RT, VistaLover, Mathwiz) are now somewhat 'engaged' in that dialog. MAYBE you three should take this to a PRIVATE MESSAGING situation here on MSFN.org if possible. And even VistaLover noted that the changes that I orginally suggested them are NOT very difficult to implement them (Name the Browser, change the install SHTML message). OR, you could wait around for a certain 'MAT' person to RETURN here again to 'ingratiate' himself for 'Old Times' sake?
  8. Yes, exactly what you have described it, a new URL to a new hosted 'SHTML' that is altered appropriately. And, GOOD that you had some 'fun' with your REPLY too.
  9. @roytam1 -- @VistaLover -- @Mathwiz <-- http://www.palemoon.org/unofficial.shtml I was looking at the (URL) above 'SHTML' that displays after a NEW MOON upgrade. The words (graphically) "Pale Moon" is prominently displayed at the 'right' top. I would replace that with "NEW MOON" instead. I would also say instead --> "You have successfully installed or upgraded the NEW MOON web browser." Also, I would say instead --> "This NEW MOON version 'Fork' of Pale Moon that you have installed is not an official release. It is configured differently by RT (The Magnificent) to work with Windows XP OS too. Those who wish to visit 'The Cult of RT' for support can do so at MSFN.org (clickable URL)." Hopefully, it is clear that I am intending a bit of amusement with some of the wording above. Also, at the bottom, there are clickable URLs for MOONCHILD PRODUCTIONS, PALEMOON.ORG, and I would replace those with maybe some RT (The Magnificent) URLs instead. So, here, I only care for feedback from RT, VistaLover, and Mathwhiz, on this suggestion. WHATEVER they might think, decide, and RT does it (including ignore me), is FINE with me. A certain 'MAT' person came to mind for me, with regard to this suggestion.
  10. https://legacycollector.org/firefox-addons/59/index.html Using here the (LEGACY) Add-On (Extension) --> User-Agent-Switcher-0.7.3.1-signed.1-signed.xpi The following applies to NEW MOON Browser (RT). In order for the above LEGACY Add-On (Extension) to work, the following change in 'about:config' needs to be done. Find the ENTRY below: general.useragent.override.google.com It has a (string) VALUE that is there, delete ('blank out') that VALUE (UserAgent). You can leave the ENTRY in place with the 'blank out' VALUE there. After doing that, THEN using the 'User Agent Switcher' will properly affect GOOGLE, in terms of the OLD versus NEW FORMAT for GOOGLE (say 5.0 = Old , 60.9 = New). The DEFAULT will now be the OLD FORMAT for GOOGLE. Hope that seems clear. So, even if you do NOT install the 'User Agent Switcher' Add-On, to 'blank out' the VALUE as described, will define OLD FORMAT for GOOGLE as permanent DEFAULT. https://msfn.org/board/topic/177125-my-build-of-new-moon-temp-name-aka-pale-moon-fork-targetting-xp/?do=findComment&comment=1164249 Add 'coding' for RT BNAV Browser Add-Ons if needed (Extensions, RT BNAV uses LEGACY only)
  11. https://o.rths.cf/boc-uxp/ BNAV Browser (RT) https://msfn.org/board/topic/177125-my-build-of-new-moon-temp-name-aka-pale-moon-fork-targetting-xp/page/101/?tab=comments#comment-1158936 BNAV Browser (RT) -- Supports LANGUAGE PACKS via modification of XPI file at URL above. https://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/#langpacks There is a POLISH Language Pack available. https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.49.4/langpack/seamonkey-2.49.4.pl.langpack.xpi http://gameswf1.weebly.com/uploads/2/0/0/6/20065369/____pacman-flash.swf PACMAN Game (URL above) worked well for me. I have NO IDEA if that the 'BNAV Browser (RT)' supports ALL that you need it. LEGACY Extensions supported: uBLOCK Origin -- User Agent Switcher -- (And More LEGACY SM Extensions)
  12. https://o.rths.cf/boc-uxp/ BNAV Browser (RT) https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/seamonkey/addon/metal-lion-sea-monkey/versions/ https://addons.thunderbird.net/eN-US/seamonkey/addon/metal-lion-silver-sea-monkey/versions/ These two (above URLs) Metal Lion SM Themes (Original, Silver) can be easily made to install. Each one has an ACTIVE TAB with a different (brighter) color -- nicely done. Use 7-ZIP software to unZIP the *.xpi THEME files to a folder, then edit the INSTALL.RDF file. Then reZIP all files, and name it again as XPI file for installation. This 'coding' below must be added (nested appropriately) to INSTALL.RDF near file bottom: *** Note: the 'minVersion' setting (below) got corrected, due to necessity *** <!-- RT BNAV Borealis Navigator (below) --> <em:targetApplication> <Description> <em:id>{a3210b97-8e8a-4737-9aa0-aa0e607640b9}</em:id> <em:minVersion>0.1.0a1</em:minVersion> <em:maxVersion>*</em:maxVersion> </Description> </em:targetApplication> <!-- RT BNAV Borealis Navigator (above) --> Just carefully locate (nest) the 'coding' above and SAVE the INSTALL.RDF file. Thanks to MSFN.org users 'VistaLover' and 'RoyTam1' for help on INSTALL.RDF editing. https://msfn.org/board/topic/177125-my-build-of-new-moon-temp-name-aka-pale-moon-fork-targetting-xp/page/101/?tab=comments#comment-1158936 (About RT BNAV Browser and LANGUAGE PACK installation)
  13. Maybe it would be an IDEA to set up a PRIVATE MESSAGE THREAD here on MSFN for Mr. TOBIN and Mr. RT ??? ... And they could 'Duke It Out' PRIVATELY there ??? Well You Can Call Me RAY ... Or You Can Call Me JAY ... Or You Can Call Me ... (?) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7n9YX1Xfw4
  14. @Matt A. Tobin <-- I actually agree that it is reasonable to request that the current RT websites in use have DISCLAIMERS that state that PALE MOON does NOT SUPPORT the RT 'XP OS' Browsers. As far as a RT 'XP OS' Browser WEBSITE, maybe an 'Official' GITHUB.COM site would be a solution. https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal MYPAL Browser (XP OS) does use a GITHUB site.
  15. @roytam1 <-- Maybe RT could upload and list some 'clickable' HTML files that (aim/open) reference this MSFN.org Support Thread. For the BNAVIGATOR Browser, for download here: https://o.rths.cf/boc-uxp/ (Added: At above URL -- RT did add a 'clickable' reference that opens THIS Support Thread. And makes clear that RT 'XP OS' Browsers are NOT Supported by PALE MOON in any way.) You could upload these four HTML files to URL above, naming them: bnaa1--CLICK-For-BNavigator-Browser-SUPPORT-Forum-(MSFN.org).html bnaa2--PALE-MOON-Forum-does-NOT-SUPPORT-the-BNavigator-Browser.html bnzz1--PALE-MOON-Forum-does-NOT-SUPPORT-the-BNavigator-Browser.html bnzz2--CLICK-For-BNavigator-Browser-SUPPORT-Forum-(MSFN.org).html Under a 'NAME' Sort, these HTML files would list TOP and BOTTOM, bracketing the dated 'bnav' Browser files (versions). http://rtfreesoft.blogspot.com/search/label/browser RT could also make similar HTML 'CLICK' additions at the above URL. This is something that could be done fairly quickly, as a response to Mr. Tobin. And It would show that RT is 'doing something' to minimize the problem of any CONFUSION that the RT 'BNAV' Browser is associated with PALE MOON Browser. NOT saying this is a full solution, just a possible reasonable suggestion for consideration. Feedback --> "It's a two-way street ... " I knew that!
  16. @Mathwiz <-- https://o.rths.cf/boc-uxp/ Here, using the RT BnavXP (BOC) Browser with WinXP SP3. So far, it handles (streaming) INSTAGRAM Video with no problem. Also does well mostly with 'custom' streaming Video that is Website specific. I am NOT that wonderful a tester though. Your experience may vary. RT did explain (elsewhere, messages here) how to install the SEAMONKEY LANGUAGE PACKS for it too. NOT a FULL FIX, but it would mostly get the job done enough (my view) for usage. However, JETPACK style LEGACY Extensions do NOT install for it. But you can get LEGACY Extension versions of uBlock Origin (UBO) and/or uMatrix (GORHILL) working via INSTALL.RDF file modification. See other messages here for INSTALL.RDF file modification requirements. NOT that difficult if I can figure it out (thanks to 'VistaLover' and 'RT' Users MSFN.org).
  17. @roytam1 <-- https://o.rths.cf/boc-uxp/ With RT BnavXP Browser ; (Changed from 'BinOC' on original posting here) (1) ACTIVE TAB is NOT a 'different color' from 'non-active' TABS. (2) ADDRESS BAR 'Icons' for 'Use Small Icons' are slightly LARGER than they used to be. Figuring you were doing some 'Cosmetic Tweaks' for VISUAL aspects. The ACTIVE TAB situation seems one to definitely fix it, next time around. So, enjoying this RT *BLUE BALL* Browser ; The Way *COOL* Browser! (Added AFTER reading the Message below from Matt A. Tobin, Borealis Browser coder) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7n9YX1Xfw4 "Well, YOU can call me RAY ; Or YOU can call me JAY" I think that it is GOOD that Matt A. Tobin is posting here (MSFN).
  18. @roytam1<-- https://o.rths.cf/boc-uxp/ Is your (RT WinXP compatible) version of (Tobin) 'BinOC' Browser going to return again? Maybe this is a "Yet to be Decided" situation?
  19. https://msfn.org/board/topic/177125-my-build-of-new-moon-temp-name-aka-pale-moon-for-xp/?do=findComment&comment=1160018 @roytam1 <-- Did make (URL above) the following (Borealis) 'BOC/UXP for XP' Browser Change (restoration) "My changes since my last build: - restored GOOGLE "Translate Page" menu item" THANKS!!! Hope this was NOT difficult in terms of YOUR time. I did not notice it in (Menu: TOOLS) at first. It is CONVENIENT to use 'ALT-T' then 'T' (keyboard) for full page GOOGLE Translation. It is working fine with (occasional prompt) RECAPTCHA here.
  20. @roytam1 <-- borealis.win32-20190126-d31e5ac-uxp-322d0be58-xpmod.7z This above seems the last version that has the "Translate Page" option (Menu ; TOOLS - 2nd Choice Down) With following newer versions of RT BorXP Browser, it is missing. Was wondering IF that something 'odd' happened, and IF that "Translate Page" option could return? Added: RT did promptly REPLY to me, next message below. Added More: RT did eventually decide to 'Fix Restore' the "Translate Page" (TOOLS) Menu option. And has gone ahead and 'cleaned up' the BorXP Browser MENU in general. RT already did spend time to figure out how to get SeaMonkey LANGPACKS to install at a reasonable level. MORE than I did expect it. I could never have figured it out. The URL for that would be here --> https://msfn.org/board/topic/177125-my-build-of-new-moon-temp-name-aka-pale-moon-for-xp/?page=101&tab=comments#comment-1158936
  21. (Non NM Browser related content removed)
  22. GORHILL FIGHTING !!! (Raymond Hill ; uBO ; uMATRIX)
  23. THANKS to tip me to this (Jan 20, 2019) new Firefox LEGACY version of uBO EXTENSION. I thought GORHILL was finished doing any Firefox LEGACY extension updates. IF that GORHILL would soon do a Firefox LEGACY update to his uMATRIX extension, that would be VERY appreciated here too. I got the new uBO Firefox LEGACY extension working quickly in the RT Borealis Browser too. After modifying the INSTALL.RDF file as needed (no problem, see RT message, this thread on it).
  24. *** This FIX from RT for BNAV Browser Language Packs seems NOT working anymore *** @roytam1 ==> To use SM-2.49 LangPack in Borealis, some changes have to be done in SM LangPack <== Okay, this RT modification WORKS (THANKS!) for (SeaMonkey) SM-2.49 LANGPACK with RT Borealis Browser: https://o.rths.cf/boc-uxp/ I have repeated and 'enhanced' the RT initial message posting, for intended clarity. 25. It did NOT play in Firefox 52.9 ESR Browser either. However, it did PLAY okay in CHROME 49 (ver.) Browser. It is a bit 'odd size' video (640x800), but unclear that it matters. It is not corrupt -- it did play in CHROME .
