You'd probably be better off having Dell fix it for you. I don't know for sure, but I assume that would void your warranty with Dell if you update the firmware yourself. Who knows, companies are crazy like that. Anyway, you're probably still under warranty so save yourself the trouble and have them do it for you (or replace the drive).

No. It's the theme that you're using. Specifically it's the shellstyle. You can do one of three things: 1. Find an updated version of your theme. 2. Remove the Shell folder in your theme dir. 3. Use a different theme. The file in question will be located at X:\Windows\Resources\Themes\<yout theme>\Shell edit: It was covered here a little while ago
