Ahhhhh my dude! I was shocked to see someone mention 'COMODO Firewall' as this is what i hinted before where i said i had a firewall that i basically have to 'allow' any program that wants to launch another process/program etc' if something tries to open something else/etc' Been using COMODO Firewall Pro + NOD32 for so long..... never heard of WiseVector StopX tho, so ill look it up seeing you have a fine taste in firewalls kind sir. thanks for letting me know about it!

mhm, Interesting... i've never had any issues with uninstalling anything before, but i'll trust you on it not being as 'easy' apparently.... so ill make sure to grab the uninstaller and follow those steps if when i decided to uninstall it. if it really doesn't 'stick' after i simply remove it as i do all program from the 'Add and remove programs' default way. My plan wasn't to do anything so far anyways as i stated, after all 'updated virus difinitions' of 28.09.2022 are pretty damn good for quite a while more, even for years if u know what you're doing in my eyes. but i might in a few months give that 'Avast antivirus' a try so to say, tho i honestly even thought to first install it without removing NOD32 and see if it updates and i like the UI/etc' and only then uninstall/get rid of NOD32 for good. if anything my 'officially license' (which i can literally do nothing with now lol should have been till early December) so i figured at the very least i won't even try Avast till then

Unfortunately starting from TODAY (a few hours ago to be exact) it is no longer possible to update ESET NOD32 Antivirus on xp :'( they gave an 'End of life' to all versions up to 9 included, which coincidentally is the latest working version on XP. I've been using (and still am) NOD32 for so long now... in the past i even used version 5 or 6 till that one End of life'd/stopped updating... and today unfortunately 9 did was a good run and silly of them to do it to begin with honestly... this afternoon i still updated up to: 26000 Sep-28-2022, 10:38 CEST (UTC/GMT +02:00) which according to their website (https://www.virusradar.com/en/update/info/) has 2 more already after that... but i REALLY doubt that not having updates can really harm you with an 'almost' up to date one like 26000 for even years to come.. specially if you also have a FW installed that regulates what processes/programs get permission to run what else (like literally not a single program/file can execute another or do anything major without me approving it to before it does it) But yeah, thought ill note it down and give the update that ESET NOD32 shat the bed and knowingly that their version 9 is the latest one working on xp, added it along with the previous ones of their 'End of life' ones. they could have easily kept it updating for a few years without much hassle... oh well.

Yeah that's what i figured... i doubted there will be any 'ram change' per se from rebuilds... just probably 'better support' for something/site specific if some sites change something that maybe in a higher build works better? haven't really had this issue and all works as it did when i first started using v11, i just don't really 'keep it open' due to the ram thingy (god i wish windows xp didn't have that 3.48gb limitation sometimes lol) thanks for confirming it to me tho! guess i won't bother upgrading to the higher build till really 'needed'

Hey @NotHereToPlayGamesI have a probably pretty silly question... but since there are no logs or any references for 'updates' or what changes so to say that i found... i had to ask it: What would be the difference between the 'rebuilds'? for example, I've been using Mypal 29.3.0 still as my main browser on xp (even with it being basically the 'latest' till and if feodor does something else and with it already having some issues with certain sites) However, your v11 has been a godsend to help with those few sites that mypal can't handle or handles poorly. However, i've seen been using 360ChromePortable_11.0.2031_rebuild_5, so rebuild 5.. and i've seen the 'latest' is now 9. so i had to wonder what changed? should i bother to update it to rebuild 9? Honestly my biggest complain about v11 is that overall as something 'to keep running' it quite a challenge? i guess that's the word im looking for as it eats memory like nothing else, and even if u don't open many tabs but like 2-3 you can already see it eating and not letting go even if u close those over again. something that with 'mypal' i find super controllable/manageable. I guess my biggest hope that maybe rebuild 8 is better than 5 in that regard? well one can dream :D but figured i'd ask regardless

@ArcticFoxie Good news! what i hoped would happen happened! and now Discord for web works on v11 \o/ As i thought it was some change on discord's end that they fixed... (tho weird it always worked on v12 and above)

Wow really? Discord is like what replaced 'reddit' pretty much, while reddit being what replaced 'forums' in popularity. Basically discord is like a thing that each can have their 'own' (for a site... group... person... etc') and each discord can have a bunch of sections like 'sub-forums' and u can post text/talk via voice and post gifs/etc' it's like super popular and have been forever... surprised u never heard of it hehe

that is just the website. it serves no purpose if u just go to 'discord.com' the entire point is to use the 'web version' which is the link i provided.. which u will see does not work in v11. but does in v12.

Yeah it literally just started today.. for the few days/week since i started using ur 360 chrome v11 it worked fine. it does work in v12 tho... so other than that, i still hold the hope that if it is on 'discord side' and since it just started today.. it might be 'self fixed' if they broke something/fix it? i know it's a long shot.. but one can hope Oh also regarding the guy above.. i just press Esc with an unverified addon i use, yeah it's annoying.. but not that annoying that i can't click a button to remove it

oh also @ArcticFoxie not sure if it's important.. but figured i'll let you know on 'why' i decided to have v12 on the ready too now... unfortunately as of today, Discord for web (the only option to use Discord on xp) stopped working on v11.... that is even before i updated it (used rebuild 4 before, now updated to 5 but it's still the same thing happening) basically, when u go to https://discord.com/channels/@me you get a blank page, similar to about:blank with the tab icon still saying 'Discord' and having the icon of it.. but somehow failing to load the page/open it. it worked fine until today (yesterday even) so i'm quite curious what changed (probably something on discord's end?) Anyways i unpacked and got v12 on the ready to use it 'only for discord' , as i compared v11 , v12, and v13.5 (no point in comparing v13 as they are pretty much the same) and pretty much as i thought... v11 is the best in terms of 'less heavy on memory useage' with v12 being the second best and v13.5 just being 'heavy' with a bunch of other Proccesses/features opening with different sites/webpages to really hammer down the memory usage and making it heavy + 'only if you HAVE TO' sorta deal. So it seems like it is v11 for 'youtube/twitter/other sites i wanna run faster than with mypal' for me now, and v12 just for discord, while having v13.5 ready 'just in case' i need something that doesn't load/work properly with either... (for example one addon requires chrome 80+ so both 11/12 fall short in that regard, v12 by so little lol... 78? f***.)

One small question @ArcticFoxie , if you 'update' a version, like if a new v11 is out etc' , what's the easiest way to just 'move' your previous used v11 settings (like profile/addons/bookmarks and all) to the new one? just copy the profile as i've been doing thus far (The Default folder)

ah i see, thanks for the clarification! it doesn't concern me either it seems. personally do you find v12 and v13 more heavy/intensive on the memory? because thus far... i find v11 really chill on momory usage (with not that many tabs open or addons i guess) and that's why i even tried it before v12 and v13 to begin with :D (Maybe i'm just traumatized from the other person's 360 notes about his v9 or so being less 'heavy' than the later ones and it has nothing to do with yours)

lol i feel you.. used to have Firefox ESR and chrome and another one opened all the time.. that changed to mypal (which now unfortunately will never update due to the palemoon guys shutting down Feodor's work on it) but the latest version i use still works great as an overall 'for everything' sorta thing. (also super easy to just close/reopen to lower memory usage that is already not that high from it) Then i have an old chrome portable version (36.0.1985.143) always open for just 2 uses, 1 is to fix a bug with my mixer (that requires some kinda 'flash' or audio playing in the background to remove) so i have 'nyancat' (just the .mp3 file) running in a tab on a loop 24/7 whenever my pc is on (yeah might sound weird.. but it hardly takes any cpu usage, basically none at all and fixes my issue. oh and it's obviously 'muted' lol) and also as i REALLY dig this chrome portable's pdf viewer and i use it as the main one for all my pdf (books/novels) that i read constantly during the day. Then comes your v11 360 that solves the issue with that site or few sites that were buggy with mypal and i used a more up to date chrome spoofed version that i deleted coz it stopped working. but the 'nice surprise' was that v11 really works great and better for other stuff.. like discord via browser is so much smoother/better with it than on mypal and overall i can grab some chrome addons i cant grab on mypal to work on it and it's just fast and seemingly full of useful options (that you so awesomely added/designed i suppose?) So thank you and i feel your pain on the 'multiple browsers' as u can tell Edit: oh and on a side-note.. I'm using the 'Regular' version.. but i saw that there is the XP x86 SP2 one... what is the difference between the regular and that one? i do have xp 32bit (so x86) and SP3 tho.... i saw the explanation for the ungoogled (that isn't necessary for me really) but saw none for the XP x86 SP2 one

Gotta say @ArcticFoxieYou did something pretty damn awesome with your versions I noticed that some sites started to not load properly with a 'spoofed' older chrome version (via that -- useragent command) so i almost gave up on ever having them run properly (those sites are bugged on my main browser - mypal 29.3.0) and i tried the other person's 360 versions before that basically didn't load sites at all due to the certification stuff... but trying your '360ChromePortable_11.0.2031_rebuild_4.zip' simply worked. it loads fast and the browser itself looks awesome! didn't try the newer versions for worry about it being 'too memory intensive' but i might give them a try too Thank you.

Another update from mere seconds ago : officialy the skype program (the latest official 7.36 version available for xp) just died. suddenly i got the skype sound that i was logged out and i am getting a "Sorry we couldn't connect to skype. please check your internet connection and try again" crying smile with 'retry' doing nothing. i guess they officially killed their latest working program version on XP :(

nope. and no "useragent string" of any other will ever change the startp_load_error it is not a simple fix as putting a different useragent. the useragent is fine as it detects it as "possible to run" (meaning it doesn't say that the browser is not supported) it's just something specific they changed that affects mypal (palemoon 27/28)

Well, for now the only solution for me is to use it on a chrome (that is spoofed to latest version) coz then at least the skype for web is useful or rather usable (and not a slow mess) I guess the "why" one can't get it to work on Mypal/palemoon is a mystery hehe

yeah adding the other one and having those two doesn't change the end result unfortunately... at least u got some progress and understanding of the addon, but i guess the fact that it keeps it changed + every other one connected to it is the factor here that we can't replicate to fix it on the lower firefox versions i doubt it is a "windows xp" thing when with the addon it works on firefox 50 but with just spoofing as it always worked it gets that error thingy on mypal (firefox 27/28) as that addon can't do some insane magic that is nu-reproducable regardless thanks for the attempt!

nah same result as using my Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.113 Safari/537.36 , ends up in that startup_load_error unfortunately. mhm, not exactly... but something similar has happened to me: basically all of the contacts i already had have not dropped but 2 of my most recent contacts that i think use the phone app or at least definitely not the pc versions are as if they require "accepting" when i know for a fact they are accepted (coz they are fine on the 'for web' version) so i assumed those 2 latest one are due to the phone app and old pc version mix/issues or what not, but i did not have old contacts going in that mode suddenly... weird to hear p.s. - that is exactly why i am so sad about the "skype for web" thingy... i don't have skype on a phone nor use phones for anything other then u know, talking lol (yeah im one of those that don't bother with phones for anything other than talk or the rare text) and skype for web was my solution to those contacts that appear to "require accepting" even if i know they are 100% accepted and talked to already. because via skype for web i was able to message those :\

Yep. exactly the same here (tho it did end up connecting for me eventually.. so i reckon if u keep it on it will at some point connect and stop the endless 'connecting' while still appearing fine and showing ur list and being able to message/receive messages) but i really find the breaking on the web skype a bummer :( for some reason, spoofing the version of the browser/OS doesn't work for me BUT i found out that using firefox 50 and using this : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/skype-web-ff then somehow the skype for web loads fine on Firefox 50. but that's the problem for me... i find skype for web HORRIBLE laggy and unusable on firefox 50 or i assume even more later versions... and i can't run this app on 'mypal' (which is a palemoon, firefox 27 or 28 fork) which is where i always used my skype for web :(

Yeah can confirm something happened with skype for web, and it pretty much died yesterday or so'ish. That "startup_load_error" even when the browser is spoofed to a "supportable" browser/OS like i used to do for ages now.... it also simultaneously happened that the latest working version of skype is stuck on the "connecting" icon, even if it feels like it is connected coz i receive msgs/see who is online on my contacts Still hoping it's something temporary and will get fixed
