Try Installing TeraCopy, It kinda a odd once happened with me in server 2003.

I found out this happens because of installing the last daily urollup (or whatever its called)...the updates causes weird issues from drag and drop, copy, and pasting not working, and even windows the control panel permanently windowed even if I full sized the window...

Which is the last safe rollup to use?...I can't figure out how to install blackwingcat's kernel32 x_x

  2. This seems to be an odd issue...
Welp, Windows 2000 has always been a pain to setup on my laptop due to certain drivers not always properly working after installation. Suddenly my laptop is unable to copy and paste anymore, drag and drop doesn't work, copy/cut and paste doesn't work as well. Any solutions?

Trying to copy/cut then paste won't even affect my right-click options! The desktop acts as if I had never done so!

I really don't wanna have to reinstall Windows 2000, upgrade to sp4, install the programs, etc again

THis kind of things surely one gonna to bring destruction to Human.

Things like genetic engineering and artificial inteligance will cease us to destroy this earth.

How many of you here seen residence evil and I robot?

Both are biggest example how? This thing are dengarous

There's already like a billion possible ways mankind can kill itself from a plant being so strong that we won't have anything else to each, nuclear destruction, and even artificial black holes!

Hey, we're even expected to be hit by earthquakes which could cause fatal tsunami's, meteors strong enough like theorized to kill the dinosaurs, a magnetic switch, maybe even a black hole nearby our galaxy, moon's size, our genetics becoming weird, mass animal deaths, another possible ice age, disease, ozone layer destruction/greenhouse effect, Gamma-ray bursts, and Super-Volcano's. I wouldn't worry too much, just prepare as much as possible

Dude , I succeed to launch Srware iron , vivaldi , latest opera 38 but crome is blocked in nt5.x.

Friends , I am trying next week i will give you all final answer and patch if i able to make a stable kernel.

Seems like Vista is more than capable of running Chrome 51, there's just something that needs to be removed from chrome that blocks it xD
I hate manual OS blocking...its literally the only reason Word 2013 (And maybe later) is blocked on Vista ;(

I'm curious: If Chrome is fooled into thinking Vista is 7, would we have any luck or nah?

A pretty good tool for managing shell extensions is "ShellExView" by Nir Sofer.

Tried that one before and it didn't give any option of KGB

All shell extensions are visible under Shell tab in SysInternals program Autoruns. Program is easy to use and powerful, might be dangerous if used improperly - but don't worry, might save backup before modifying registry :>

The simpler solution is to run regedit.exe, search for "kgb" and delete all the related entries.

    Thank you <3 worked!

  6. Let's see...

1 back in 2009 back when I played RS (I quit long ago)
1 in 2012 when I was obsessed with a Minecraft server called "Mineplank" owned by ImJustPro
Had an Enjin account for Minecraft, which joined two communities
Another Minecraft server forum in 2013 (I trolled a lot and almost got banned, somehow I didn't because the admins either found my behavior amusing or were too lazy)
BleepingComputer - Attempted to find a forum with Windows 9x support. The 9x section was too inactive for my liking
MSFN - 2015, finally found a nice Windows related forums with Windows 9x discussion and others.
Vogons - Joined there in a desperate attempt to get Windows 9x working on a Dell Latitude D600

    In total...8

  7. I installed KGB Archiver a while back, hoping to compress files then I learned it wasn't possible without damaging the files so I uninstalled it. Like the title says, whenever I right click, I still get the option "Compress to KGB"
    How can I remove this?

I tried reinstalling and uninstalling again, but that didn't work

I tested on both Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP2 and Server 2008 Enterprise (v6.0.6002) and unfortunately, the driver refused to work on both OSes, so it's definitely geared towards Windows 7-based OSes, unless perhaps there are more differences between Windows SBS 2008 and Vista than we know about.
Although, when I was studying the .inf file, I only saw a section for NTAMD.6.1, indicating that the driver is meant to work on Windows 7 only, unless I overlooked something.

Is there a way to modify the file to work on Vista? The same thing can be done with Windows 2000 only wireless adapters to Windows 9x IF there are no missing dependencies! (And those two use different kernels!)

According to Dibya there are 20 or so less files in Vista than in 7, there maybe a good chance it would work without the OS blocker

If I understand right, one should go to about:config, and there create or change the string value app.update.url.override so that it's contents become (according to my interpreatation of BlackWingCat's Blog):

@~♥Aiko♥Chan♥~: Can you read Japanese? If so, there are many things on BlackWingCat's Blog that would be useful to translate to English and post here on MSFN...

Sorry I cannot read Japanese, only a bit of Chinese characters so I maybe able to get some basic ideas at best. (Note: I'm a weeaboo teenager so don't count on me...)

  10. Its not a very good idea to install Windows 7 on 2003/2004 laptops lol...
I mean it will still work properly, only issue is that Windows 7 is way too bloated compared to Windows 2000. A Latitude D800 can only support up to 2gb of ram (Which is not very good for Windows 7!). Is your only intention to use the internet?  Windows 7 will work fine if that's the case (If you have at least 1gb of ram). Why not stay with 2000? Its faster, works fine with 1gb ram and with blackwingcat's kernel extension, can run many of the latest web browsers!

  11. I can help you with mostly software (I'm way too new to hardware. Only worked with laptops...)

For Virtual CD/DVD: its called mounting. I recommend This program for mounting ISO's (Virtual Clone Drive, ignore the warnings of unwanted software. I didn't get a virus from it)
USB: Windows 98SE has this for usb. I'm not aware what a firewire is...(Beware, Windows 9x appears to hang if a USB is plugged in during boot!)

  12. Tsundere-Chan, you need a profile picture! ;)

I'm a bit confused after reading everything; did you manage to install Windows 7?

If you have a hard time finding drivers; Offline driverpacks are a good gamble! Install software to mount the ISO (recommend WinCDEmu or something simple)
I would recommend downloading samsdrivers, after downloading put it on your flash drive! (It will need at least 11gb of space!) It may contain some Russian or certain text may come up funny after mounting it, but do not worry! Click snappy driver installer, then continue! Its your best bet if not using an online driverpack!

Windows 2000 updates normally support simplified Chinese (zh-cn) and traditional Chinese (zh-tw). However, the SP4 is also available for traditional Chinese, Hong Kong (zh-hk).

I have briefly compared the three packages (w2ksp4_cn.exe, w2ksp4_hk.exe, w2ksp4_tw.exe) and the files are in fact different. Also, as far as I have seen, no other updates are available for this zh-hk version.

Does anyone know what is up with this "special" release? Was there a separate Windows 2000 version for Hong Kong?

This may or may not help you:

Any chance this version is in Cantonese? I'm aware Hong Kong is where Cantonese is spoken along with Mandarin and even shares many (but not all) Han Characters

  14. Excuse me, has anyone tried messing with Windows Vista's OS registry info or know enough coding to mess around with Chrome's Windows ver. checker?

Comparing Windows Vista to 7 is like comparing Windows 98 to ME, right? (Very little difference if any)
Every Windows 98 driver and application I've used on Windows ME worked with no problem (Unless there was a false compatibility blocker)
And well...I know comparing 9x isn't like NT, but you get the point!

Windows Vista and 7 are virtually the same, so Vista probably wouldn't have any issues running Windows 7 only software. Windows Vista ran every single Windows 7 only and later driver on an older-ish laptop I own. Does anyone know if there are certain files or updates in 7 that aren't present in Vista or something?

  15. Well this is a very odd case...apparently either Windows XP SP3 somehow didn't have WPA2 or my card just somehow doesn't support it despite having WPA2 on Vista and later...
I tried changing my router settings and it worked...but that's not what I'm looking for! Biongo wireless had WPA2 and solved my issue!

Well the solution: Download Biongo Wireless Utility for Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP or any wireless client with WPA2 support!

"Doesn't give me an option in my router's properties" doesn't make sense. The Router is an independent piece of hardware/software.

I searched for that Wireless model and found this right away. You really shouldn't depend on XP to give the proper Driver. I have a D-Link USB and it will *not* work without the correct driver. Go here, read, download, install, and see if it "fits".

I also tried internet archive and the page wasn't archived...

Seems to be driver related problem

    Try updating Driver

Windows XP oddly says its working properly. I installed SP4 after seeing SP3 does not give me an option in my router's properties. I'm given an option to change the code or switch to open, shared, wpa, and wpa-psk, but not wpa2??? I tried searching an I can't seem to find it...

I had exactly the same problem with my Lenovo laptop. One day it stopped connecting to the wireless networks it could (barely) detect. I sent it for service and had the wireless network card changed, it cost me about 150 euros and nothing changed. Luckily I found a guy who explained to me that in fact the cables of the laptop's Wi-Fi antenna were to be blamed and the only thing that I could do is using a USB Wi-Fi adapter, which I did (that's how I'm connected to internet right now). Have a look in the device manager: if the wireless card is reported to be working OK then you probably have the same problem with me. You can also try to set your laptop very close to the wireless router and if the cables are the problem it will connect to the internet and work normally (the cables/Wi-Fi antenna aren't necessary for very small distances). If this is the case just buy a cheap USB wireless adapter and do your job with it as I did.

I don't think this applies to my situation...wireless properly worked using vista and 7 on the same laptop...

  19. I'm trying to install Windows XP on a low-end 2011/2012 (Or maybe even 2013) HP laptop. Oddly I'm not given the specific model...all I know it that its 2000. The laptop comes with 4gb ram, an AMD E-300 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics @ 1.30GHz. Its a dual core. (Despite being very low end)

I tend to install my drivers using an offline driverpack and things seemed to go better than last time...I didn't get a message telling me that an entry point wasn't found for the wireless driver, but I may have gotten a message saying to insert a disk??? (I accidentally inserted a wrong disk, don't ask how! I accidentally inserted my Windows ME disc instead of XP...)

Everything is working fine but the Broadcom 4313gn wireless adapter. My laptop can find wireless networks just fine, but cannot connect! I have Windows XP SP3! Stupid Windows XP keeps reinstalling the driver after I uninstall it everytime!!!

I do not want to use Windows Vista or later because the CPU usage is at least 30% on idle!!! Over 50% on Windows 7!!! I do not wanna try Windows 10!
