  1. I have a pc game that needs East Asian Fonts (japanese chars) to work propely but i haven't found a solution on how to add this...anyone knows if it can be done on 98SE ?
  2. Well i gave in to the hype this project has gained and installed it. Install went fine, rebooting into win was actually faster (i think) but i have only one big problem: my RASPPPoE connection won't work anymore . I've read the big TXT file describing potential bugs but still i tought won't happen to me but it did. I uninstalled all the protocols, reinstalled them even the NIC card but still to no avail. The raspppoe.exe app that is used to create the dial-up connection to my ISP says it can't find any dial-up adapters exposed by the PPP protocol. I've read some posts about this problem here but seen no real solution to it. Please take note that i don't have a USB modem that is connected to the network adapter, i just use that app to make a connection to connect to the ISP. I just reinstalled windows now but i MIGHT give 98SE2ME a chance again ONLY if a solution to this is available. Thanks in advance.
  3. I wanna know how to make dialup automatically connect upon bootup like when i had cable modem, you know always online when youre in windows without to manuallly click connect every time. Is it possible ?
  4. Is this what are you looking for ? http://hplsoft.com/products/nstat/index.html
  5. i tried that windows version changer but nothing shows up...i ctr-alt-del and its there and is not showning "not respondin" i use sp2.0 final..any tought why it doesn't work well ? i wanna enable hot tracking effects as TweakUI does nothing
  6. GDI32.dll i know is a core component of the OS...about the other one i don't know...
  7. so to make sp2rc1 work under win98se copy the SP2 RC1 pack onto the hard drive that has Win98se installed (if W98SE is on C: drive run sp2rc1 on C drive only; if W98se is on a different drive or partition like D: drive, run sp2rc1 on D drive or the partition that has the W98se OS). good luck on the exams Gape. be sure to include Q246615/Q246817 W98se patch FixItMad got. don't include the 891711 Win98 update which was released yesterday at Windows update. it has KB891711.EXE & Q891711.DLL files and MDGx told me kb891711.exe (which was featured from the patch) hung his Win98se system. Those two files are stored in the 'Windows\System\kb891711' folder. I have to test the Win98 kb891711 patch on my old Win98se to be sure the patch doesn't cause lockups. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah i updated win98se with kb891711 and it locked my pc....but not right after bootup but just few minutes later...i have never seen such thing this is strange as the patch is intended for win98se...is ms tryin to stop users to use win98

  12. Yeah but Win98 doesn't have the option to enable that....i was hoping that someone knows a program that can do that...
  13. just popped in to say that i have installed the beta and everything runs smoothly...no bsod's or anything, and i'm not the type that installs betas but i said what the hell it couldn't do any more damage than destroying the windows installation ...really i think u should consider releasing the final
  14. yeah i think today is useless to load your config.sys and autoexec with all that stuff...maybe if we were still in the DOS era that would have been helpful but now is just a pain
