  1. Cool. Thanks for the info. mritter. I can quit trying everything under the sun now.
  2. Thanks for the reply. Are you sure that works? According to Microsoft documentation, and my own experience, setup.exe will only "auto find" a .msp customization file located in the Updates folder. Doing this works perfectly fine as far as applying the customizations, but WPI doesn't wait for it to finish installing. This is exactly the procedure I'm using in the original post.
  3. No luck. Thanks for the idea though. It seems strange I'd be the only one having this issue. I tried on a completely fresh download of WPI with the same results.
  4. Tried this without success. Check out the time stamps on this log. Monday, February 28, 2011 1:46:43 PM Program: Microsoft Office 2010-2 Unique ID: MSOFFICE2010-2 Order: 900014 Category: Office Monday, February 28, 2011 1:46:43 PM - cmd1 Success (returned code 0): "C:\PostInstall\Apps\Office\2010\setup.exe" /adminfile "C:\PostInstall\Apps\Office\2010\x86\Updates\SetupCustomizations.msp" Monday, February 28, 2011 1:46:44 PM - Finished installation. Again, Office installs correctly but WPI doesn't wait for it to finish. I'll try giving everything an order number as a next attempt, but I don't have high hopes.
  5. Sorry for the late reply. I didn't realize I wasn't subscribed to responses. I'm using the Office Customization Tool, found by running setup.exe /admin on the setup file in the Office install directory, to create a .msp file instructing Office to install silently. So, the WPI command I then use is: "%root%\Apps\Microsoft Office\2010\setup.exe" It actually runs and installs correctly but WPI moves on to the next item in the list after about 5 seconds instead of waiting the 5 minutes it takes to install. Thanks for your help. 6. I have WPI installing Office 2010 and it fires off the install perfectly. The only problem is WPI thinks the install is done after about 10 seconds even though Office is still working away. Have others had this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks!
  7. Thanks. I should have thought to try the standard system variables. For some reason I was thinking WPI only worked with the variables that come up when you press Alt+G from the UI.
  8. I need to copy a settings file to C:\Users\<userName>\AppData\Local\ProgramFolder. How do I get <userName> with WPI?
  9. The Time Zone setting doesn't reload when loading a previous session so the installer asks you to choose a time zone during an unattended install. It's not a big deal, I just have to remember to rechoose my time zone every time.
  10. Not that I know of. Is there something else you would like added? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, just wondering. I thought maybe I was missing something. Thanks for the reply.
  11. Does this provide any different functionality than the user account creation section of WIHU? http://www.kalytta.com/wihu.php
  12. Never mind. I just grabbed a copy of twext.dll 6.0.3800.2180 off an older machine and copied it to the system32 folder (overwriting the newer messsed up version). Simple fix and all is well.
  13. Is there a way to fix this after install? I have 3 computers up and running now and don't really want to do it all over again. Thanks.

    XPize uAE 1.0

Hi XPero. Thanks for the great mod! Question... If I run the XPize uAE Updater with the /S switch, will it update in the background silently. I've tried, and it runs silently right now, but I know there are no updates needed. I'm asking because I thought I could a put shortccut with the /S switch in the startup folder and never have to worry about remembering to run the updater.
  15. I tried and tried again and couldn't get it to work. Then I created a new rtf document and it worked no problem. The first one must have been corrupted somehow. Sorry for the seemingly stupid question.
  16. Is it possible to have images in the description pane yet? Do I just need to change my rtf into an html document? Example:
  17. Should I wait for 3.0 to make WIHU a part of my install cd, or will it be simple to go from 2.x to 3 with the converter?
  18. I had the same problem. Tried everything I could find online to fix the problem and nothing worked. Reinstalled with a XP SP2 Gold cd and everything worked fine. The problem is your computer has been recognized as Standard PC somewhere during the install process but it should be recognized as ACPI Uniprocessor PC. If it wasn't, you won't find any of the tabs or settings that people are pointing you to. The only possible fix I saw here that I couldn't find before was the registry entry. Did that have any affect?
  19. Sounds great soulin! Hopefully they'll be open to the idea.
  20. So does the Blocklist your using do the same thing as SpywareBlaster (CSLID killbits)? I can't find the Blocklist on spywareinfo.com, are you talking about a list form somewhere else? As far as a non on-demand scanning product, SpywareBlaster is the only thing I've been able to find that can update itself (for $9.95/mo per computer) that will keep my users fairly safe. It looks like there will be a server based version coming soon.
  21. soulin, your process looks great. However, check my quote from the IE-SpyAd site in the post above. I think step 1 in your process already includes step 2.
  22. You should take a look at this thread over at Wilder Security Forums. I'd say that the IE-SpyAd list (about 8000 sites) is the best to use for restricted zone entries. It seems to be the most comprehensive as it updates about monthly building the .reg file from numerous sources.
  23. OK, OK I get it. It's easy! After looking through everything I've done over the past couple days, I now realize (what I beleive to be) my big problem. My cmdlines.txt file was actually named cmdlines.txt. So it was really cmdlines.txt.txt I dont' have time to verify (have to go to work), but I'm feeling confident (and pretty stupid) that this is my problem. I'll post back when I have a chance to test later tonight.
  24. OK, I'm going to give this one more try following your steps to the letter. It's just frustrating that I can't figure some seemingly simple things out. Although there's no such thing as a stupid question, I still don't like to post one.
