  1. I'm confused. Does it no longer work with the latest public build? I upgraded to it and all the borders are black now. But no watermark or errors.
  2. Not a fan of the glow. I think if the X was red itself and slightly changed hues on hover and click, it would pop.
  3. Can you make it so either the X has a red box around it (that changes with hover) or make the X red itself with the same tint change on hover? Is this one what you're looking for? I take no credit for it's creation, just a reupload from earlier in this thread... Either with the red box around the x or make the x red itself on hover.

  5. Um, actually, the goal of most commonly used software is ease of installation and ease of use. You want people to use your software, and as such you should actual care enough to try and make things easy to understand. Not take the elitist route and say "well I explained it for an advanced user, so if you don't understand it, you are not advanced and I do not want your money (via donating to remove watermark)." This is not the right way to go about it. Even if it was, though, the way you have your site setup to "explain" to the advanced users on how to install is very vague. For example, http://www.glass8.eu/guide.htmlis not even up to date remotely. This isn't even correct in the sense that you made installers for the users. One does not even need to do anything as far as registry editing is concerned. Also, registry editing is NOT considered to be a basic system knowledge. Registry editing is very dangerous, even for the advanced users and is often taught to basic system users to not be tampered with and at the very least to make a backup of the registry in the event one messes up their system by editing something incorrectly. You also improperly and confusingly add lower down the page to in fact use the installer anyway! So do you not want them to install the software if they don't know how to edit the registry or install it regardless? The rest of the page is mostly complete (while still innacurate to a varying degree in that one does not need to make registry edits as you provide installers and a GUI tool to make changes). However, for the Windows 8 portion, you don't even make mention on how to inject your executables. You just say that they need to do so. I am a long time OS X users coming from Windows XP and Vista and I appreciate the glass looks of Windows and would love to have them on Windows 8 for example, and even though I am quite competent with OS X, I am still somewhat behind on some Windows things, so showing even the advanced users on how to do such a thing to get your software running would be helpful in the so called guide. But as most users moved on to 8.1 and 10, this is basically irrelevant again using your installers. All that being said, my only question is this; Why then does the "guide" page still exist? If it were I, I would delete it, and leave the main page as is with the exception of adding a third download for the GUI application and label it as beta. I would then add a portion to the page saying "Want to remove the watermark? Donate, then follow the instructions in the email!" Add the instructions in the email with the login info and stuff as you already have. As the "testing" page has no links to any downloadable files, you should just remove it. It's confusing. If you want to keep a guide page, I would provide a guide on how to create a theme atlas and load it. Also, you should make the "Login to your account" link much more noticeable. It's tucked away in a hard to see spot for the user, and almost tricks one into thinking they have to donate again to access their donation.key files. Please note, this is constructive criticism, nothing personal.
  6. Got it. I was too tired to see the DL on the glass8 page.
  7. The latest release build of 1.3.1 seems to work fine on 10049, except it nags at the beginning saying that it doesn't know how to hook the system, but it seems that it does. I have window blurring just fine. It then pops up a windows about machine code, and after that nothing else. The windows stay blurred as well.
  8. Because you are plugged into your AC plug. If you unplug from your power cord, it will revert into non-transparent mode for energy savings Open up regedit.exe and browse to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM Add a new DWORD called DisableGlassOnBattery set to 0 (base hex). Reboot.
  9. So if anyone doesn't want to pay for StartIsBack, they can use Classic Shell which is 100% free and frequently updated. It has the ability to enable the taskbar blur as well. Here's a video of me demonstrating it. http://tinypic.com/r/ilxh7o/8 Classic Shell: www.classicshell.net
  10. Safe mode is done by holding shift while restarting. A menu comes up, select boot options and safe mode.
  11. Are you installing to 32-bit Windows? I am using 64-bit. No, I am using the installer on x64 Win 8.1. Dunno why it installed symbolic keys.
  12. Isn't the installer both 32+64-bit? I'm guessing for some reason, when it goes to add registry values, it's not checking properly on which version it's being installed to. Otherwise, why would I get the Wow6432Node registry settings and others not on 64-bit? This seems to be a bug with the installer.
  13. Okay, I just wanted to make sure that nothing would break by doing so. I did, and it is now working as intended. Thanks.
  14. Again, you are misunderstanding. I did nothing more than install glass from the self-installer, I did not touch the registry ever. I had to search the registry to find where DWM key was. My question is should I manually make a key for DWM "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\" and add the DWORD entry in there? AFAIK the reason the key was found in the Wow6432Node key is because it's a symbolic link for 32-bit applications on a 64-bit systems...
  15. I think you misunderstood. I have Glass working. I do not have it working on battery, it does work on AC. I merely was showing the settings don't change when trying to enable glass on battery. You can see that when on AC I am able to use glass in the following video. Video showing where the keys are located on my system.
  16. Please, check that you updated the registry correctly. DisableGlassOnBattery settings is read from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key only and you need to restart dwm process (or your computer) to apply it. These are my registry settings. I am currently on battery in both screenshots and I have rebooted. Glass on with AC, off with battery: Glass on with AC, on with battery:
  17. Hello, I just joined so I could ask this. I would like to set glass to work on both battery and AC power, but following the registry settings on the glass website don't seem to work. I still only get glass on AC and no glass when on battery. Windows 8.1 x64 inside a VM.
