  1. I've checked Steam music while in game and have no problems navigating the tracks. Would you be more specific and explain the issue you're having?
  2. Thanks for your bug report CaliKizid. I've had one report before about steamlock.exe failing to terminate, but I'm still unable to reproduce the issue on my machine. Regarding Windows 10, I'll implement the shortcut but only after a Customer Preview release, as many things may change on the way. I was also thinking about changing a global key activator from BACK to GUIDE BUTTON, but I need your feedback on that.
  3. XBStart version 2.1.8 stable released. Happy Holidays everyone!
  4. To be honest I never use in game overlay and have it disabled in steam. I will try to find a solution for that problem.
  5. Ok, I'll think about swapping the back button with the guide button, but first I need to finish building my trackball controller prototype. It’s my main priority at the moment.
  6. To be honest XBStart wasn't supposed to be used in any app with a native controller support, because of that kind of result as you describing. Swapping a global button trigger from BACK to GUIDE is theoretically possible, but that would require extending the GUIDE button holding time when you want to turn off the controller, I don't know if it's ok for the rest of the users.
  7. Do those games have a native controller support? If so just remove that app from the app list in the XBStart settings. Or do not press Y.
  8. Good idea, will think about implementing a more advanced profiles in the future versions.
  9. Implementing that feature is not a big deal, but first I need to know what is the advandage of it over the standard 4 led blinking when the battery is low.
  10. It cannot be done with the wireless receiver which I only have. I'm not sure about the wired one. Anyway, any usb wake up event is controlled by the bios, not the software.
  11. I'm sorry, but I don't own Chat Pad and I do not write drivers.
  12. 27 Oct 2014 - Version 2.1 beta 6 released fixed windows showing incorrectly on high DPI settings.
  13. Thanks for the report. I'l try to fix that soon, but in the meantime you have to disable dpi scaling in xbstart.exe properties
  14. XBStart Version 2.1 Beta 5 released (link in the 1st post) improved loading time when Windows is set to boot to Start Screen bugfixes

  16. Most likely that recent cummulative August update blocked the autostart of the apps with admin privileges, so I will have to go through that list one by one. I've only identified the one which adds restrictions to the on screen keyboard. It's KB2973201 but those files have been updated again in another update so I had to uninstall all the updates which came out after that one.
  17. I know how to hide it, but wrapping it into an installer is firstly to intrusive to the end user, secondly not always foolproof. Since the last Windows update my app needs an admin rights, can't do much about it as the on screen keyboard won't receive clicks when I call mouse_event or SendInput in C# with standard privileges.
  18. Most likely they want to make sure no one will stay on Win8 when Threshold pops out of the bushes.
  19. Since schtasks.exe is a console application I don't see a reason why you shouldn't see a CMD box. If you don't see that though it means you are doing it wrong And btw, I like my OCD, or as I call it, a chronic attention to detail.
  20. By saying to autorun through the registry I meant HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run or HKLM\..\Run I thought such an obvious thing doesn't need explaining. Also I'm aware of the old TaskScheduler trick, but the side effect of that is a flash of a command prompt window which for a person with an OCD is not fully acceptable
  21. After the last update from August there is no way to autorun an app through the registry in Windows 8.1. Do you have any idea how to overcome that limitation?
  22. Its safe now on my ssd, hdd, dropbox and onedrive, so no worries, I won't make that mistake again.
  23. Maybe, I'll think about it, but first I need to figure out how to fix what Microsoft broke in the recent updates. Now to make the on screen keyboard able to receive clicks from the gamepad xbstart needs to be run as admin, otherwise only mouse movement is functional. At the same time Microsoft blocked the autorun in the registry of any exe file which has run as administrator ticked in properties. Buggers...
  24. What do you mean? You can already navigate all the metro apps which support keyboard navigation. You just have to press back+start while in the app you want to control and confirm by pressing A.
  25. I'm having some technical difficulties with my web host. You may encounter XBStart crashes during that time, so please disable an auto update for 24h. I've already fixed that bug, so XBStart will no longer crash when my website is down. You may expect a new beta as soon as dns servers will update to my new web host.
