  1. Here is a Dropbox link if you are still having problems: https://www.dropbox.com/s/97r9mqiwnqvnz75/xbstart_v2.1.9_setup.exe
  2. For all of you having problems with DPI scaling: Please redownload and reinstall 2.1.9 version. It should be ok now.
  3. Strange, I'm not able to reproduce this behaviour. I'll try later.
  4. I don't see any issues on high DPI. Did you tick by any chance "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" in xbstart.exe properties?
  5. That registry key implemented in the latest Steam beta is unfortunately a bit buggy and unreliable. The person who I am communicating with about that is apparently on a leave, so please be patient. I'll release an update as soon as possible.
  6. Thats new Thanks, I'll have to add a timezone checks to the installer.
  7. In that case you have to use some european or american vpn to sign the exe. I'm sorry there is no other way as XBStart is a free app and I cannot afford a Verisign certificate for $300 a year.
  8. The signing procedure requires an internet connection. Maybe your firewall is blocking the Microsoft's signing server. Where do you live? Is your country firewalled by any chance?
  9. You can control any app which is controllable with the arrow keys enter and backspace. Just hold back & start within the app and confirm with the A button.
  10. Did you disable the mouse pointer hiding in the XBStart settings? Yes I did. I do not know if it makes a difference that I am using a Xbox One controller instead of the 360 controller... It works just the same and I downloaded the Xbox One controller drivers from Microsoft. It works just fine in all the Steam Controller compatible games... all the shortcuts work with XBStart. It's just the mouse controller disappears everywhere even on the regular desktop. I'd be glad to donate if this problem could be fixed b/c other than that the software is great. I've tried to boot the system with the mouse unplugged and I can confirm, there is no mouse pointer on the screen. Unfortunately it has nothing to do with the XBStart. It's a Windows 8 specific issue and it's like that by design. When Windows do not see the pointing device it disables the pointer. I'will try to find a workaround, but I cannot promise anything at the moment.

  12. A GREAT NEWS GUYS! Thi is an email I've just received from a Steam's developers team memeber: Hi Radek, with the most recent Steam client beta we have added a BigPictureInForeground registry DWORD under the Steam root. Its value is set to the PID of the current Steam process when Steam is running, 0 otherwise. So you should check that the PID specified by this key is actively running and then assume Steam will handle the guide button, otherwise you can have at it. - Alfred You may expect an XBStart update within a few days
  13. I've sent an email to Valve asking to add a registry key which would allow me to disable the guide button every time the Big Picture is in foreground or a game is launched. This is the ultimate and only solution as the current mechanism is a blind guess and needs to be changed. Let's wait and see what their response will be.
  14. All gamesAll works fine here. It must be something on your side then. Actually, I have the same problem. I've checked the option to disable the GUIDE button within Steam Big Picture, but when I launch a game, pressing the GUIDE button always takes me back to the Start Screen. I've als tried running xbstart with administrative rights which didn't help. The Guide button deactivation works only when a game is launched with a Steam big picture, when you run a game with it's own pinned shortcut It cannot be done at the moment unfortunately.
  15. There is a tick button in the xbstart settings to disable it when Windows starts. Uninstaller automaticaly kills the app, maybe it's your antivirus preventing it.

  17. Steamlock.exe is actually a not very elegant workaround for the problem to which I still have to find a proper solution.
  18. Desktop, but it doesnt matter if I have more then one open since it does pretty well when i let it run with big picture open just cant hit home button as it interferes with my hotkeys set in controller mode and I have to switch modes a couple times I'll add a support for Windows 10 and it's virtual desktops after the Consumer Preview comes out.
  19. 3rd screen or 3rd desktop? If you are talking about Windows 10 it's not supported yet.
  20. You are right, when Steam's window is in foreground mouse clicks are not working. Strange, I'll look into it. However it only aplies to a windowed Steam, Big Picture have no issues here. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
  21. No problems here with the mouse clicks. Would you please provide some more details of when the mouse clicks are not working?
  22. Did you add XBStart to the autorun yourself or used a tickbox in the XBStart settings? I can add a dpad mapping. You meant back+dpad, didn't you?
