  1. My computer has been infected with spyware, I tried to rename some infected fiels in the "WINNT\System32\lyfoctrs.dll" directory, while a PC is booting in safe mode. But I received this error message: " Can not rename lyfoctrs.dll : There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use". When I checked the running processes , I could not find that name (lyfoctrs.dll) running in the memory!!! What should I do with this case, and similar other cases?

  8. I followed the instruction in this URL because I expierneced the error message. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=261302 The file that I deleted were: Wsnmp32.dll, Ntprint.dll, Tcpmib.dll, Mgmtapi.dll, or Snmpapi.dll. Now when I click "Add a printer" I received this error : "Operation Could not completed", Which I had no such problem before deleting the files above. How can I replace the deleted files with new one ? (Can I downlod them ?)
  9. If I plug different PC, it works witout any problem.
  10. You meant Adminstrative Tools->Services->DHCP Client ? IF so you it is enabled. Yes, of course I am sure. Now I am at office using internet through DHCP server.
  11. I tried this, but it did not work. It did work with static. but with automatic it did not work.
  12. Because I am at work I thought the problem with cable or port, I changed my location to another place to do test, the same problem is going on. I did simple test to check the DHCP client, I switched to other OS on my laptop (Linux FC3), it could not get IP address from DHCP server as well!!!!!! I plugged my laptop (OS W2K) to Linksys router (DHCP server at home), it could get IP address from DHCP server (Linksys router ) without any delay. I plugged my laptop (OS FC3) to Linksys router (DHCP server at home), it could get IP address from DHCP server (Linksys router ) without any delay.
  13. With my Laptop Latitude Dell D600 (win2000 server), I have problem with internet connection, between time to time (not always) I can not access the internet (via LAN at work) neither via wireless card not wired one. When I checked the ipconfig the result was: Microsoft Windows 2000 [Version 5.00.2195] © Copyright 1985-2000 Microsoft Corp. C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ipconfig /renew---------(unplugged wired NIC) Windows 2000 IP Configuration The following error occurred when renewing adapter WLAN: An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket. Microsoft Windows 2000 [Version 5.00.2195] © Copyright 1985-2000 Microsoft Corp. Or I have to do some configuration ? I disabled Wireless card from the device Manager, the same problem. Then I disabled the wired card and enable the wireless card still the same problem is going on. I thought the problem with hardware, I changed motherboard, still the same problem is going on. I thought then the problem with software, I had win2003, then I installed win2000, I had no problem with OS at the beginning , then the problem a raised again. Any clue ?
  14. I am experiencing the same problem between time to time (not always) and non of my colleagues experiencing this). I disabled the WALN from the device manager , still the same problem
  15. I used partition commander (V8) to partiton the hard drive (40 GB) of my Dell Laptop Latitude D600, to 3 types: NTFS(primary) and Extended primary (with many logical ) some of them for Linux, and Solaris(primary). I installed 3 OSs successfully (Windows 2000 server, FC3, Solaris 10), without any problem. But When I tried to use the partition commander utility later (boot from DOS)to verify (under Tools->Validate) the NTFS partition, it hung up and it did not go through. By the way when I installed only windows (before I installed the other two), I have got no problem. The same problem happened with partition commander before also (i.e. this is not the first time). And I had expierenced similar problem (not same) with Partition Magic (it told there is error in the partition do you want to fix it? some thing like this) also. I realized (but not sue), whenever I installed more than one OSs on the same Hard Disk, then later on if I want to check the hard disk with the same utility that I used to partition that hard disk, I expeirenced the problem. Have any one had same problem ?
