  1. I want to change the color of folder's name (font) not the color of the folder itself,,,,,what should I do ?
  2. Some times when I browse the partition C I found font of some folders are blue, how can we change the color for the font ? I am using windows XP SP2
  3. Thanks Actually my question why do we use option "Local" not "Network", since it is networked-printer ?(i.e I want to know the reason for that)
  4. I have got networked-printer at work with IP address 10.71.83.17, I tried to set this printer by using wizard, now when I reached this wndow's wizard: "Local or Netwok printer" 1- Local Printer attached to This computer. Automaticallt detect and install my plug & play printer. 2- A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer. If I chose fisrt option, I can enter IP address for printer, while in second option, I can not use IP address Why should I choose first option (Local Printer attached to This computer) , if it is a networked-printer ?
  5. It is not from Cisco, it is from the book "Data Communications and Networking" 3d by Forouzan chapter 11 section 11.5 HDLC http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/0072.../student_view0/
  6. No, I have never edited my reply, believe me, I have edited once, before I posted it as final version (6 hours and 16 minutes before your fisr reply), and see the time for my first posting and your first reply :"Posted Today, 06:16 AM". Your reply was: "Posted Today, 12:42 PM" Yes I can telnet and ping and http also to router. Btw, this is not the first time that this problem occured, my friend had faced same thing before two weeks. I will and let you know
  7. My answer would be: If the telent has not been enabled, how XP and Win2000 Server can telent?!!!
  8. I have got two Cisco routers 2600 ( A and B ) connected to each other by serial cable through their serial interfaces. I connected PC to each router via its fast Ethernet interface, (i.e PC to router A called LANA, and another PC to router B called LANB ). The OS on these PCs are win2003 server without SP1, (i.e no firewall). I tried to telnet to the router A form its directly connected PC LANA, I could not!! I tried to ping to the router B from its directly connected PC LANB, I could not.!!!! I thought the problem with PCs (not OS, first thought), I replaced one of the PC with my laptop (also get win2003 without SP1 and no firewall), same problem was going on. Now I replaced the OS (not the PC, because I have dual OSs on each PC) for both PCs with WinXP and Win2000 Sever, they worked fine, with out any problem. Note: When I was using win2003 I was able to ping from each router to PC but not vice versa. Is there any default configuration in win2003, I have to aware of it ? Bear in mind that I used 3 different PCs (i.e. if there is probelm with one it should not be with other one as well), with win2003 server no SP1, all behaves in the same way
  9. NRM= Normal Response Mode In this scenario we have one primary station and multiple secondary startions. A primary station can send commands; a secondary station can only respond. The NRM is used for both point-to-point and multiple-point links. ABM: Asynchronous Balanced Mode In this scenarion, the link is point-to-point, and each station can function as a primary and a secondary. What is it meant by sending command and responding ? I think it has been meant by point-to-point, for the link, not for point-to-point protocol,,,,,Has not it?
  10. 1- I tried to follow up what you said, all has been set as you mentioned.2- I added group "everyone", same problem. 3- I tried another laptop to access the server (before and I after I added group "everyone"), same probelm, by the way this the thired laptop I am trying include mine Yes as I mentioned in point 3 above
  11. First let me double check with you about Enabling remote access. Do you mean Right Click "My Computer"->Properties->Remote tab->check box "Enable Remote Desktop on this computer" ? If so, yes it is enabled, and there is no error message
  12. jroc could you please look to these registry values from PC (the one with problem), and from my laptop (no problem), both of them have got win2003 server OSs For Desktop Name Type Data ClassicShell REG_DWARD 0x00000000(0) ForceActiveDesktopOn REG_DWARD 0x00000000(1) NoActiveDesktop REG_DWARD 0x00000000(0) NoActiveTypeAutoRun REG_DWARD 0x00000095(149) For laptop Name Type Data Default REG_SZ (value not set) NoDriveTypeAutoRun REG_DWORD 0x00000095(149) Why does not the laptop have this value: and still the mouse is working without any problem?
  13. Thanks jroc and jrz for your help and advice. The problem has been solved by the advice from JohnnyReb51 (Thanks for him), his adivec (similar to jroc's advice) was : Sounds like a Registry policies restriction. I have just created a Registry file to remove it. Go to the link below and download the norightclick1.reg file to your desktop, double click on the reg file and confirm the Merge twice. Close all open programs, etc and restart the PC. Your right click Context menu should be back. This link is only valid for about 1 week. http://s34.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=...JP0WU6ZO1NJJNE2
  14. Could you please tell me more what you meant
  15. No, I have not installed any mouse's software. I have not tried to delete (uninstall) the software, I just replaced the mouse with another and tried to check right click. And I have not reboot the PC in all cases
  16. Mouse right click has been disabled suddenly, I do not why? Is there any setting I have to do it to reanble right click again? The problem that the right click only disabled when I try to click on the desktop area (My Computer icon, My Network place icon, Recycle Bin, Internet Explorer,,,,,etc) but I have got no problem if I open any web site. I tired 3 mice, the same problem occured, and as you know if the problem with the driver, it should be with one mouse only, not with three mice. I am administrator, and I logged as administrator
  17. 1- For experiment lab at work, I have got Desktop server windows 2003 server, I was able to access the server from my laptop remotely (by using “Remote Desktop Connection” utility), I had enabled remote access feature on the server. By the way,my laptop has win2003 OS with SP1. 2- Server on wired connection and laptop wireless connection, as I said I was able to access the server from my laptop remotely. 3- After one week I tried again, I could not access the server from my laptop, I thought the problem with my laptop, I tried my friend laptop (WinXP) I received same message: “The remote computer has ended the connection” 4- I can ping the server, still I can access the server if I typed from run box: \\ ip address of server\folder name But I can not access the server via “Remote Desktop Connection” utility. I disabled the firewall on the my laptop.
  18. Yes it is included, I founded it and installed. As I said, it can see the flash, when I change the drive letter. And If I used the same flash later, I have got no problem. The problem only the first time!!!. If the problem with driver, then the problem should continue (not only fisr time),,,,,
  19. For my knowledge only (future test) You meant that, I have to use one of my colleague's PC, and I have to do thess steps: 1- ipconfig /all-----to find what is the default gateway and DNS server (because all of us same LAN, therefore we use same gateway and DNS serever) 2- Enter the information above statically (instead of dynamically, which was my previous configuration). Didn't you ? What do you want to achieve ?Do you want to test the DHCP server ?If so it is working for all the colleague in my Department, as I mentioned in my first early post. If it is something ealse (not to test DHCP) could you please let us know ?
  20. Very strange, I have just tried to do a test to the laptop , I plugged tha cable again (after 5 hours from my first early post), now it works fine!!!!!!!!!!! Is there any reason for that ?
