  1. gsilvap Why not try Classic Shell, it's just as good if not better, Plus the maker of Classic Shell is very helpful, with any Classic Shell problems and it's Free.
  2. groomp I think this info -> Hit ctrl-shift-esc to bring up the task manager then clicked file, run new task, explorer.exe to get to the desktop <- may help a lot of people who have symbols download automatically, and can't boot to desktop. IF they would just READ the info on the forum.
  3. I just installed the update then did a restart, the debug window came up and downloaded the symbols but didn't boot to the desktop. I then hit ctrl-shift-esc to bring up the task manager then clicked file, run new task, explorer.exe to get to the desktop. Rebooted then all was good. I don't understand your point, Plus i don't have auto download for symbols.
  4. The best method is to Install updates, then update symbols manually, then restart PC works for me.
  5. raiden89 Green Lines:: http://double-rainbow-ei8ht.deviantart.com/art/Longhorn-Evolution-8-1-version-4-8-14-444468395 NOTES: They don't look so BAD in a Pic, but in real time they glow and look bad.
  6. Nyc88 Turn the PC OFF and than ON again, to see if will boot to desktop. If it will not boot to desktop than there is some other issue, which i can't help you with, e.g bad startup repair.
  7. raiden89 I did try Longhorn theme you linked, it works well, but i didn't like the green lines all the way around the theme when you open explorer, e.g when opening Libraries or some thing. NOW IF that green lines were to be removed, i would use that theme.
  8. 1.Boot windows 8/8.1 usb stick OR disc. 2.Select Next, Repair Your Computer. 3.Select Troubleshoot, Advanced Options, Command Prompt, 4.Type Regedit and Press Enter. 5.Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Than select File (It's above on Title Bar) Select Load Hive, This Pc. 6.Goto C:\Aeroglass and Delete DWMGlass.dll. 7.Close all boxes and Continue to Desktop. 8.READ: Read Post #919 http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170850-aero-glass-for-win81-121/page-37#entry1073548 NOTES: There is a NEW update that breaks Aeroglass so you need NEW symbols.
  9. Thanks for the info, but it's not a problem for me, as i don't use Metro apps OR Start Screen OR Apps Screen and all tiles on my Start Screen have been removed and Metro has been disabled.
  10. This will get you Full Glass Transparency on Start Menu and Taskbar and Titlebars when used with DWMGlass.dll and StartIback or Classic Shell. 11. Read this how to, Post #402 http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170850-aero-glass-for-win81-121/page-17#entry1067319 Regedit Settings: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]"TextGlowMode"=dword:00000003NOTES: If using default Themes you may need to delete VSCache Folder, and Restart PC, for this to work.
  12. WOW thank you so much, i didn't expect you to go to so much trouble, Windows Aero Transparent.skin7 makes the start menu looks great with my themes, thank you very much again from ace2. 13. Microsoft SAY We do not recommend that applications use this feature or rely on this feature. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/197571
  14. @Wolfshadow Even without using AppInit_Dlls registry entry, there are still a lot of regedit settings needed to be installed BY the end user, to get DWMGlass.dll (Aeroglass) working the way some users like. I think there is still a lot of work needed on the DWMGlass installer for regedit settings BY bigmuscle. Opinion: There are a few ways to install DWMGlass.dll, i like to set aerohost as a service, bigmuscle is correct that AppInit_Dlls registry entry is a bad idea, even microsoft says it's NOT recommended.
  15. Looks nice, But i would like the windows 7 menu with clear glass / glass effect, Thanks for all your help, i hope you will be able to make windows 7 menu have clear glass / glass effect, thanks again ace2.
  16. Thanks for the info, but two columns style menu color does NOT look right with clear glass / glass themes even with Full Glass and more Transparent.
  17. dhjohns [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]"BypassThemeSignature"=dword:00000001[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]"BypassThemeSignature"=dword:00000001NOT needed any more, as DWMGlass.dll does NOT support Theme Signature Bypass any more.
  18. Assuming that you are using it on Windows 8 and installed Aero Glass mod, did you enable the option Enable Aero Glass (requires Aero Glass mod) from the Menu Look tab in Settings? Then switch to the Windows Aero skin from the Skins tab. If BigMuscle's Aero Glass is working correctly, then it should look the same as Windows 7 menu. Also from the Menu Look tab, you can adjust the Glass intensity and Color Blending if required. Using window 8.1 with DWNGlass.dll_1.2.1 with Windows Aero skin and option to enable Enable Aero Glass, and adjusted the Glass intensity and Color Blending, But its to white or to dark, Can't get start menu to go clear glass color. THIS IS THE COLOR I WANT: http://s27.postimg.org/5kdogsow3/Pic.jpg
  19. Would it be possible to make classic shell work with clear glass / glass themes (have the same look), or make a theme for classic shell that is clear glass / glass, as i am unable to use classic shell with my themes as they just don't look right (they look more white than clear glass / glass). Thanks ace2.
  20. Tihiy can you make StartIsBack work with clear glass / glass themes (have the same look), or make a theme for StartIsBack which is clear glass / glass, as i am unable to use StartIsBack with my themes, they just don't look right, and can you add blur settings (button) to StartIsBack. Thanks ace2. Like THIS Clear Glass / Glass: http://s27.postimg.org/5kdogsow3/Pic.jpg NOTES: This Start Menu is Built into AeroVG Ei8ht.1ne Theme for Windows 8.1, AS you can SEE its a mess, NOT Because of StartIsBack, But Because of who ever made the theme.
  21. What's up with Blur ? IS THIS HOW TO GET BLUR ON Start Menu and Taskbar ? Need to disable Start Menu translucency and Taskbar translucency OR set them to 100% to get Blur, when using windows 8.1 DWMGlass.dll_1.2.1.
  22. Just downloaded Win8.1 Update Symbols, and they do work with DWMGlass.dll_Aero Glass 1.2.1. To manually download Win8.1 Update Symbols for Aero Glass 1.2.1 Read: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/163570-aero-glass-for-win81-rtm-rc3/page-16#entry1058721 NOTES: Important Regedit Setup: not needed if using aerohost.exe to run DWMGlass.dll_Aero Glass 1.2.1
  23. Using en_windows_8.1_with_update_x64_dvd_4065090.iso with DWMGlass.dll_win81_x64_alpha1 and WinaeroGlass.exe: Desktop with blur: http://s8.postimg.org/brwz9ai3p/Desktop_with_blur.jpg Desktop without blur: http://s1.postimg.org/cpyyomw1b/Desktop_without_blur.jpg NOTES: Symbols NOT needed with DWMGlass.dll_win81_x64_alpha1
  24. If this is going to be microsoft new start menu for windows 8.1 it looks sh-t, and made for metro Apps and NOT Desktop, StartIsBack will be around for a very very long time if this is the best microsoft can offer.
