Playskool http://www.neowin.ne...drawing-support EDIT: Wake me up when I can have 2 SQL server windows open at the same time, altering 300 raws manually, having an eye on my emergency email account, update several servers, chatting, talking on forums, buying stuff online and watching Netflix all at the same time... yes, I CAN multi-task!

WOW! I AM SUCH A MORON! Seriously! I run Opera as a USB-installation already... WHY DID I NOT THINK OF JUST COPYING MY FOLDER AND GET A SECOND OPERA? hahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha...... wow... just wow... sometimes, one cannot see clearly! Thanks!
-
Nothing beats... drum roll... OPERA. ... at least for now. Not sure how using webkit will turn out but in terms of GUI customization, cookie handling, xml feeds, password manager, bookmarks... it simply is the best. I need to separate some cookie accounts so I got FF installed lately for some few specific sites and FF is just horrible compared to Opera in terms of GUI, download manager... everything about it just annoys me and feels so 90s. Bear in mind, I was a HUGE fan of IE for years... tried Opera 3 times... to actually "understand" it... now I cannot think of any other browser to use. Ever.

Squares... EVERYWHERE. *LOL* Even though most people dislike these squares (tiles) and showing it by NOT buying the Windows Phone and Windows 8 products... they are STILL pushing this thing. Definition of insanity, doing same thing over and over again, expecting different results. Just look at that MESS, looks like a freaking advertisement billboard and imagine many of those are animated too! http://www.neowin.ne...droid-app-today trolololololololol...

See how many of the comments who are legit but negative about Windows 8 get a "minus" rating... ah yeah, Ars sure knows where the butter comes from too... http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2013/04/microsoft-posts-record-third-quarter-revenue-in-spite-of-flat-windows-numbers/?comments=1 Comment rating is one of the other ways to censor things in people's minds. Some websites even hide the minus rated comments so you have to actively click on it to show it. They most likely brag about how they "don't delete" or "censor" comments. Allow me to go first: hah!

Reminder! This whole removing start menu was just a decoy to bring in the Orwellian locked-in walled garden "store" into Windows. http://www.neowin.net/news/rumor-the-start-button-to-return-in-windows-81 The lock-in is still there but all the sheeps are distracted by the start menu which they did on purpose as a decoy. Oldest trick in the book.

Microsoft playing with Windows...

Sadly, the false analogy between the move from DOS to GUI and the move from Desktop to Metro is given new life: ...No! It is ONLY and ONLY about locking down "your" device so that you no longer can develop and deploy "your" applications freely WITHOUT using the "Windows Marketplace", the forced 30% cut + the new feudalism where now they will dictate what can be installed or not installed... and/or remove any application they want, at any time, without you being able to do anything about it. Entering the invisible prison, feudalism in IT

Ugh, that picture WAS disturbing! This is one of my favorite items: http://www.foolsdesi...c.php?f=1&t=43. It's as if somebody took the Office design templates and left them out in the sun for a month -- all washed out. Try looking at that on your screen for 8 hours a day. What were they thinking?? ...Oh yeah, they forgot the thinking part. You are doing fantastic work over there, BTW -- very visual, gets the point across directly. --JorgeA Thanks! More advertisement money will be spend soon so hopefully a lot of people will see it. I bet many are p***ed off at MS because of it.

There is sooo much moronic stuff: http://www.foolsdesign.org/viewforum.php?f=1 that list is growing. ...I also found a real fitting picture for the shouting caps, http://www.foolsdesign.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=46 ...that is how Office is yelling at you. *lol* WARNING: The picture can affect your mood.

Fool's design. The case of insane scrollbars in Windows 8. ( Source: http://www.foolsdesign.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25 ) Invisible scrollbar handles and disabled looking scrollbar arrows. Not only the scrollbars in Windows 8 look disabled and grayed out (specially the arrows), in order to trick the users' eyes even more, they made the scrollbar handle almost invisible. Light gray on light gray. That's the stuff! After all, why would you ever need to know with ease what your position is inside a scrollable window. Design 101 at Microsoft. Below picture shows how they currently look like and a quick suggestion on how it should be. Of course, we feel that the scrollbars' colors should follow the general color theme of Windows.
-
Fool's design, Windows 8 dislikes more than one instance of an application. If you try to start several instances of any program from the start screen, be it Paint or Remote Desktop Connection, it will fail. It takes you to the instance which is currently running. After all, why would you start more than one Remote Desktop session or perhaps have more than one Paint open at the same time? Apparently, Microsoft thinks they have a better idea how many instances you are allowed will need to have open. Which is, well, only one. The "solution" is to go to Desktop, right click on the icon of the running application in the Taskbar and start a new instance from there. This "solution" is of course, completely invisible and illogical to the regular user. Yet another reason that the start screen is foolishly designed. Source: http://www.foolsdesi...ic.php?f=1&t=22

... See, you don't understand this Metro thing. What those cars are doing is just trying to get a more flat look by flattening everything. Stop living in the past man, everything is supposed to be flat now.

I can honestly say that the Windows 1.0x logo is much more attractive than Windows Code Blue. The first logo, is supposed to show when the insanity really started to kick in. With the great great great one which you pointed out about the faulty horizontal line which should be thinner. The Windows "Blue"... it's showing when they go completely deranged, see how the lines are now screwed up? :D

This thread will go down in history as one of the great threads in all time. I'm sure of it. They will look back and call all the contributors to this thread enlightened beings. Frankly, you guys made me feel at home for once. For the longest time I had given up hope for humanity but little did I know that sane true humans still exist! I'm serious. It also inspired me to start foolsdesign.org. I have the highest respect for everyone who has contributed to this thead. I wish I could buy you all a nice cold one!

Yes, as Formfiller said, please don't touch this thread. This is the soul reason I joined MSFN and donated money to it. Do NOT split this thread. Although the subjects varies in this thread, it has become a very important thread. Splitting it into 100 different subjects or closing it will only confuse people and we will lose valuable information all gathered in one place. I personally find MSFN already highly confusing and splitted into way too many subjects frankly. I know you mean well but this specific thread has become way too important now. So please, keep it running.

There are quite many techie idiots actually. The metrotards for once. Then their predecessors, the freetards of old.... I don't consider them techies actually. I see them as dumb consumers. Techies are, people liks us.
