  1. Indeed! This whole "Cloud" this or that is a ticking disaster waiting to happe, not now but 10 years from now. I hope we will be alive to watch it unfold.
  2. haha good'ol maddox! I guess the word "Diary" was already in use when the media invented "blog".
  3. I'm using MSSQL. (Thanks)
  4. 23GB for user data, in a 900 dollars locked down point of sale device ... http://arstechnica.c...at-youd-expect/ BUT BE HAPPY, IT IS FULL OF APPS APPS aPPs apPS apps aPpS aPps apps apps apps apps apps... repeat efter me... apps apps apps apps apps apps apps apps apps apps... let's all be dumbed down together... applications are legacy... come'on everyone 1... and 2... and a 3... apps apps apps apps apps apps apps apps apps apps apps apps... OH there is even Office 2013 desktop APP... App app app apps app apps app apps... u got an app? I got an app... app this and app that... app here and app there.. app app app app... There is no hope for humanity. Now they all call applications/programs for "apps". Monkey sees, monkey does.
  5. I work with a big corporation and for our press releases they outsource it to a company which is a marktering company, where they "post it everywhere to create more clicks", long story short they create fake sites which look real and cross post these links and texts. The very same thing corporations do when they pay bloggers to talk about a product or review it. Same on YouTube where young people or older people or middle aged people review some product they "bought" which clearly is a paid marketing vide. The way they film it and how they only bring good things about it and the negative things they bring up are not really "real" negative things but silly remarks like "oh the shine is a little bad" or something in order to put positive thoughts inside the viewers head about the product. I am sure that Microsoft also does use such tacticts, sure there are many many many morons out there but this specific comment reminded me that they also most likely hire people to post praises and positive stuff about their products including Windows 8 all over the place. (including paid "articles" in "news" sites like Ars or Neowin) See how he sais "Modern UI" and the part where he talks about the Orwellian Windows store, how he sounds like a salesman, he might very well be a paid advertiser. Make no mistake, marketing is a serious and almost scary science and we should all be very careful how the corporations manipulate us in order to sell something. Don't think for a second that Microsoft's marketing department is any different than Wallmart or the big oil or big pharma. It's the good'ol boys' club and we aren't invited.
  6. Sorry, I wasn't sure where to post an SQL specific question. Please move this thread to the correct place. I think I'm getting stupid or something, not sure why I cannot solve this! *lol* I got two tables TABLE1 and TABLE2. TABLE1 has some item ids which can have one or more linked values from TABLE2. Example: TABLE1.ID TABLE1.ITEMID TABLE1.table2_ID TABLE2.ID TABLE2.DESCRIPTION Data sample: TABLE1: ID ---- ITEMID ---- table2_ID 1 ---- SOMEITEMa ---- 2 2 ---- SOMEITEMa ---- 3 3 ---- SOMEITEMa ---- 4 4 ---- SOMEITEMb ---- 2 5 ---- SOMEITEMc ---- 2 TABLE2: ID ---- DESCRIPTION 1 ---- somedescription001 2 ---- somedescription002 3 ---- somedescription003 4 ---- somedescriptoin004 As you see, in TABLE1, I got 3 items "SOMEITEMa","SOMEITEMb","SOMEITEMc" which all share "description002" connected by TABLE2.ID to them. My question is: How do I select from TABLE1 only those ITEMIDs which have TABLE2.ID='2' and NO OTHER IDs connected to them? I basically want the result to show two rows from TABLE1, which is "SOMEITEMb" and "SOMEITEMc", and not "SOMEITEMa" because that item has other values connected to it. Eventhough is has TABLE2.ID='2' connected to it, I don't want to select it because it has other IDs from TABLE2 as well. Thanks!
  7. You know, I think Microsoft did Internet and standards a great service for releasing Windows 8. Probably 1000s of developers like me suddenly "woke up" and realised how one shouldn't rely on one corporation for important things in life. Be it work or whatever. I never thought in my wildest dream that I would stop making applications and move 100% toward the web. Windows 8 made me change all that. Microsoft lost atleast one developer... not until next version... but... forever. Trust takes years to earn but can disappear in less than a second.
  8. So THAT is why Windows 8 is so great? Wow... http://www.neowin.net/news/new-29999-windows-8-app-can-help-you-become-a-lawyer ...I guess such "Apps" are not possible to make in a website. lololololol ...I love the all white gray theme of it too, fits very well with Office 2013. I'll run and buya Win8 Pro right now... man, are those flying pigs out there?
  9. By the way, is it just me or does the new Windows 8 logo remind you of a prison cell too? Freudian slip from their design team there I guess. B)
  10. hahahahhahaha... funny funny funny videos! *looooooool* Thanks for posting them. "AND LET THEM USE WINDOWS 8 WITHOUT A TOUCHSCREEN." trlolololollolololollolo... I died.
  11. That book is an excellent read JorgeA. To light things up a bit, I know you probably all seen it but...
  12. hahahahhahahahahahaha
  13. Perhaps you are right but the way he put that sentence together, I cannot help but get a creepy feeling from it. I think that show the level of mentality among people in general. They accept ANYTHING. Very few seem to be able to say "Say what? Why? No, I will not participate.". I wish more people would do that and put their feet down and say... no. Not only to crap like W8 but in society in general.
  14. See what this slave sais on Channel9: http://channel9.msdn...Desktop-relief- That must be one of the creepiest comments I have read. He admits Windows doesn't really work the way he wants AND that it is counter-productive... BUT... he likes the fact that it forces him to accept changes and he needs to accept, "no matter how counter-productive they are". What the hell is going on with people? Are these even human? Accepting change for sake of change because their masters told them to do so. It is truly starting to sound like a cult.
  15. haha even them folks at Channel9 are starting to realize it posting how-to on skipping the start screen. Meanwhile... http://www.neowin.ne...hromebook-sales "Acer: Windows 8 "still not successful"; hypes "amazing" Chromebook sales" ...not that Chromebook is any better but yeah... funny nevertheless. Quote from the article: Bloomberg reports that Acer had a 28 percent drop in its PC shipments for the fourth quarter of 2012 compared to a year ago. Wong added' date=' "Windows 8 itself is still not successful ... The whole market didn’t come back to growth after the Windows 8 launch, that’s a simple way to judge if it is successful or not."[/b']
  16. These airplane examples are hilarious yet perfect! Now if someone could get that into the head of those morons at Microsoft who gave a go on Windows 8. Although, all this makes me even more sure now, that they knew exactly what they were doing when changing and messing around with the interface like that. It's to throw everyone off their game, so much so that everyone forget about the lock-in walled garden which is in place, where MS is now doing an Apple with almost no one noticing it. You see, you have to distract the sheeples mushroom people. Why I use mushroom people instead? Well, because they are kept in the dark and fed manure. Which is exactly what is coming out of MS.
  17. From http://channel9.msdn...ows-8-copypaste hahahhahhhahhaa... they are removing EVERYTHING from Windows it seems. The future: "Hello, this is TV Windows. You have a limited number of TV-channels applications Apps with limited functionality to use. You may only use these pre-approved ones which only we allow you to use. You may not install from any other source than our pre-selected walled garden. It is of course for your own security."
  18. Enablers indeed... and fools. These are not citizens or people in my humble opinion. They are empty shells. They are no longer "human". What the big corporation sais, they will do. What TV sais, they will do. What gets advertised, they will buy and love. It's really that simple. Here is another moron from Channel 9... http://channel9.msdn...6bba15201468d7c His post is almost creepy. He actually recommends "Just go get Start8" and at the same time praises this abomination Windows 8. *lol* The removal of start menu was a genius move. It distracted people SO MUCH and they all forgot about the locked boots and walled garden. Amazing isn't it? EDIT: I personally actually only use Opera and Outlook. Sometimes Skype/RadioIO/Spotify and for work, Visual Studio. I'm glad I never got addicted to software in a way I get locked into one OS. It seems that soon, I will be running some BSD version. I can do without Outlook. I'll be OK without Skype/RadioIO/Spotify... a virtual machine for VS and I'll be set. Basically, what Ballmer is doing is to force people like me away from Windows. I really did love Windows before Windows 8. Never thought I would be looking for options to leave it. What little I need in Windows can be virtualized, out of sight... and out of mind.
  19. I don't even think that anywhere, anytime and anyone (except of course at la la land Microsoft) could call this a "design". It is simply a white sheet with some text on it. Like a draft. You draw thin lines here and there and say like "OK, here is the inbox, we put this there, and that over here and move this up", you know, how people draft stuff at a meeting. So they took something like this and just slapped it on Outlook and called it a day! Hey Microsoft, REALLY? That's your idea of design? I mean, for real? These morons have billions and billions of dollar in cash and they come up with... a white colorless window and mess of text all over it? Something is not right somewhere. I'm sure of it. I cannot imagine such a huge company, so many engineers and designers in there, this is what they come up with? Did they all collectively go insane or lost 100 points of IQ? I cannot get over this. I keep waiting something to come out soon, like some whistle blower or SOMETHING. They cannot ALL have become retards? Is it something in the water? I'm pretty sure there is a rotten fish somewhere in there and soon or later, it will float to the surface! (pun intended!) *LOL*
  20. I am still active there as "wastingtimewithforums". Their nerves are razor-thin currently: http://channel9.msdn...nch-in-February haha, I had a feeling it was you. I found this thread/forums from one of your links (thankfully) so I joined and also donated to this place. )) This is me seeing Windows 8: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=a5R_pS0h5Qk
  21. Oh, interesting. They're slowly separating the user from the guts of the OS, leaving him/her to interact only with a pre-selected outer, umm, surface... --JorgeA Ah yeah, they are taking control away from us... slowly... but surely. http://youtu.be/AEWRqMCxza0?t=31s
  22. By the way, why is the start screen scrolling horizontally and not vertically? haha... another fail. Last time I checked, 99% of mouses had a VERTICAL scroll so now, your mouse wheel is unusable when in start screen, you have to use horizontal scroll bar... even if the wheel works, it would be extremely unnatural to use, although I doubt it does. The CEO should be fire. The designers and everyone who gave OK to these products should all be fired. They should make a recall for both Windows 8 and Office 2013, make a public apology, work on it 3 months and release a fixed better version. New CEO and new designers of course.
  23. Speaking of denial... they also defend this piece of CRAP... and actually call it "Design". Can you believe it? They call a WHITE window with A MESS OF TEXT "Design"!!! (Outlook 2013) On one hand, they got this teletubbies eyesore call Windows 8 and the other hand, they got this... white THING... no borders, hidden scrollbars, mess of text... they call this design!!! *looooooooooooooooooooooooooool* NOT TO MENTION THE ALL UPPER CASE CAPLOCKED MENU ITEMS, IT IS LIKE OFFICE 2013 IS YELLING AT YOU ALL THE TIME. Like they just came from 1980 and never used Internet before... hahahahhahahahaha
  24. Microsoft blasts PC makers: It's YOUR fault Windows 8 crash landed "Microsoft blames PC makers for underwhelming Windows 8 sales over Christmas, The Register has learned. The software giant accused manufacturers of not building enough attractive Win 8-powered touchscreen tablets." hahahhahaha hahahhahahahahaha hahahahahahhahahahahahahha hahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahaahaha... You know what Windows 8 feels? Like you have a nice big party, everyone all excited to taste this nice punch bowl... there comes floating a turd inside it. Excellent reply from there, I had to repost it.
