hi! my friend's new computer.. about 2 months old.. DELL P4 3.0Ghz, 512 MBRAM, WIN XP Home. serive pack 1.. it's internet explorer doesn't work 5 minutes after the computer in turned on. So, when you start the computer, you can surf the web for five minutes, and then IE (or anything else.. including firefox) doesnt work. All the other programs that use the Internet work (AIM, Spybot (updating), MSN Messenger, etc.) but you just can't surf the web.. i don't think it's the modem's problem because the internet works all the time on her other computer... so.. do any of you know what's wrong? i'm going to reformat it later, but I want to know if it's fixable without reformatting.
