I know that it is weird but this performance problem is logged even when Aero Glass is not running.

I'll try to check what can be the cause.

I don't recommend to use that WinaeroGlass thing, because it runs background loop which periodically sets any window as layered with 99% transparency. It will result in degraded performance (because layered windows need to render all obscured content) and some applications do not work with it at all. It is also contra-productive to use with my Aero Glass library,

Is it really caused by august updates and not by some old update which you didn't installed before - especially Win8.1 Update1 ? Could you provide debug.log? Also, if there is some minidump file in Aero Glass folder, please upload it. Are you sure you have the latest 1.2.5 version?

You probably tried all theme files which have squared corners.

Currently, it is possible only via changing transparency level to 255 (e.g. in beta-version in my GUI tool downloadable at the website). Could you verify it now. There was still some problem with my hosting provider which resulted that today's donations were delayed for some hours. If it does not work, send me your PayPal e-mail via PM.

This is the common problem which I am not sure how to fix. Although it is written near the edit field that ZIP(postal code) needs to be filled, I still get many questions how to log in. I'm also thinking about using regular password which would be sent via e-mail after donation but I believe that many users will ask where to get the password then.

It seems that everything is correctly recognized. Weird... could you verify that this value does not exist HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM:DisableGlassOnBattery (notice that I am talking about HKEY_CURRENT_USER) ?

Ok, could you try running this small app: http://glass8.eu/stuff/BatteryLogger.7z Ignore the window, just copy&paste the content of the console when plug-out the power. It does the same as Aero Glass do but logs the values only.

When atlas file has compatible layout, it makes no difference whether you have default or custom theme. The only bad thing is that there is no reliable way to say whether the atlas is compatible with current theme.

Could you enable verbose logging and provide debug.log then? It may contain some hint why it does not respond to power change.

Notification to new donators. Since August 1st, some change appeared on my server hosting which I has not been informed about. For this reason, donations since this date has not been properly saved to the database. Please be patient, I'm solving this with the provider and then I will enter the data manually. Please, do not post PM content publicly! It could get you banned! And the first new speciality - since now, every donator can theoretically generate almost infinite number of keys! Just one condition applies to avoid abusing this: * The number of concurrent keys is still limited to your donation value but you can deactivate any of the keys when you need (e.g. change your hardware or something). Then you have to wait for 30 days before you can activate new machine code. I believe you will appreciate this new feature despite this small limitation.

If your problem is really caused by Aero Glass, I will be glad to fix it. When I am back home, I will install chrome to test it. It would be good to know what your resource differences are under same conditions - the state with and without Aero Glass to compare. But as I already said, I doubt that this problem is really caused by Aero Glass - even if I allocate 10 GB RAM and create tons of memory leaks, I doubt it will raise resource usage of any other process than DWM.exe itself.

Just because it is Chrome's problem. If it is problem of Aero Glass then it would influence also other applications.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is something which I could influence. The problem is that the only memory buffers which I allocate are in the scope of DWM process so any other memory allocated in different process will hardly be connected with my Aero Glass.

What's up wrong with RAM usage?

I am finally after my holiday and the weather is weird here, so I will have some free time which I can spare on Aero Glass development. You can look forward to some specialities such as performance improvements, important security fixes, completed GUI application and more. I don't have much time now so I didn't read all the conversation here so I don't know whether your question has been answered. But I believe that this thing is caused by the used theme - Win7 theme has transparent jumplist while Win8.x theme does not have it. So probably nothing to be modified by my Aero Glass.

Look, adacom, if you don't know the real facts then please, do NOT express your opinion about it. It is not important what's my, your, his, her or whoever version of the truth. I'm just saying that my Aero Glass is injected into process with high privileges and if someone wants to inject some unverified 4th party library into this process too, then it is his problem too. I don't say whether their crack does something harmful, I just say that there is opened possibility that if they want to, they can do it and no virus/malware/etc. scan will prevent it. Another thing is that I tried to install that crack? Did you install it? You probably did not. It downloaded EXE file which installed some additional tools into the computer and then it required to download 2044 MB, so I interrupted the process.. Now I discovered that it even installed some add-on into my firefox. Again, it is not my version of the truth. It is the reality what it did. Nothing more. You can simply try it on your own or you can just continue to spread that it is only my version of the truth... blah, dot.

In the reality, I don't care about any cracks. If someone decides to use some crack, its his choice. It is always against the main purpose of my Aero Glass = to make this effect as native as possible and as clean as possible, and if someone selects to install any semi-layer between my Aero Glass and DWM, he does not use clean Aero Glass, so it is his problem. What I just cannot understand is why nobody never released any normal crack for my software: - the 1st crack is just replacing of MSIMG32.DLL (which is system library, so system integrity is impaired) and works only sometimes. Although people writes here that this crack works correctly, they complain to their forum that it brings many problems. - the new crack - I have not checked it much, just downloaded their EXE file and executed. The result is that my computer got messed with many unknown processes and many new unknown items in Startup folder. Then it wrote that it is downloading 2044 MB, so I interrupted it. Funny thing. So again, if anyone decides to use the crack, use it! Just remember that my library injects into process with high privileges, so any attacker can do anything with your computer.

At least, it is not continued to be filled by the mess. I am extremely busy at this time, so I just quickly read the forum and sometimes try to answer something. I have some Aero Glass ideas in my mind which must be realized very soon, but I am going away for the holidays next week so I am not able to finish it currently.
