crispy pitty we cant get everyone to upgrade but also have you tried kismet i kinda gues syou do a little bit of wardriving there if you do wardrive look for a post in janurary that should have about 4000kms of road wardriven and even then i wont be getting very far just down to adelaide then to melbourne but should look impressive anyway

no there is no software that can easily hack a system afaik but basic security is easy to implement

get spybot search and destroy look at upgrading your dsl modem to a router\modem eth combo and thats all i can think of make sure you up date spybot s&d

you need an extra bit of software to create the port on the win98 machine then use windows file and print sharing to share it to the 95 box hp jetdirect software used to be able to do it

right you may need to forward ports on the routers at both the cable site and the dsl site so that they go to the correct machine you do need the address for the router and you should be able to use the router to forward the port to the correct machine at the other end

hrrm all these crippled gaming boxes go for the ORIGINAL gaming system the pc nothing beats 20 people playing call of duty in one room or 50 playing battlefield or even thousands playing planetside i have my pc i play doom3 at 1024*768 with 75 fps cant say that about any console because the best they get is what 640*480 @ 30Fps with ntsc :\ bleh

crispy how recently have you tried cracking wep? because weak ivs no longer exist with neweer hardware had losts of fun trying to crack my own ap after about 4 days of constant traffic i still had no weak ivs and airsnort had not broken into it for home use though i would recommend firewall, no dhcp, wep, wpa mac filtering, and hiding the ssid. for a buisness i would look at adding a vpn over the network and haveing them completely seperate from most computers on your network. eg in a dmz controled by an up to date smoothwall/or something similar box

most likly just unsecure thats all really vel but i would recommend moving your web site on to a third party server as well

no from what i read he just says you have to keep them updated clark connect is nice havent played with it recently though smoothwall is brilliant though just make sure you run the auto update feature

automatic will start it when ever needed manual will start only with user intervention and when stopped shouldnt start with out the user and disabled means just that

there is always the ubcd www.ultimatebootcd.com has a tool to reset admin accounts and such will also unlock an account if locked really nice tool but just make sure that if you do it for a client take their puter home/back to work and bill at least 2 hours lost a client because i reset there pw on the box in about 3 mins was scared i could do it to any puter on the site

make sure at least one accont has a password on it and thats all i can think of
