  1. @WalksInSilence Thanks for the help. I can't use the uninstaller because it prompts me a dialog telling to use the Install/Uninstall Programs option. I used BCUninstaller and it did list the install, so I tried it but it only deleted the redist folder. So I just went and manually deleted the whole install folder and all the dll files listed above in system32 and SysWOW64, then passed a CCleaner pass and restarted. I couldn't delete the above listed "C:\Windows\assembly\GAC\*" paths but I tested some games and emulators and everything seems fine or not broken. Not ideal but better than nothing I guess.
  2. Yes, but I'm not talking about DX Redist but the DX SDK which isn't necessary (commonly) unless you are a developer. That's all the "d_" references.
  3. I installed DXSDK_Jun10 that was required for a game on Win7 and now I can't uninstall it, it's not shown on the Uninstall Programs under Control Panel and the uninstaller warns me on uninstalling from Control Panel when executed from CLI or double click. The installer doesn't have an uninstall option. These are the installed files but my concern is on the registry and specially uninstall conflicts with installed files from directx_Jun2010_redist. 4. submix8c, I proactively opened 2121 port just in case. EDIT: so no need for this?
  5. I did "Test 2" yesterday, before posting here... all I get is some idling, then a new line with "ftp>". My phone is 192.168.1.2, PC is 192.168.1.3, gateway is 192.168.1.1. What do you mean with subnet? They are all connected to the same wifi. jaclaz: let me check MAC permissions, that might be a thing. EDIT: I added the MAC to the ARP table without success. I also turned on my Wii, since I know I have used its FTP many times before at least with XP (this is homebrew Wii), but again, no success from 7 at least. Just one difference, with the phone, I get a ping response of "timed out", with the Wii, it's "Destination host unreachable"
  6. I also used another app called Wifi FTP. I tested things twice before posting here. As I said I didn't use any firewall (windows firewall is disabled), and I used FileZilla, don't know if you dislike it for some reason. The first CMD test failed in case it helps. I asked if there are needed services for FTP to work because I can have a look at them and save a lot of "figuring out" time.
  7. I'm using this phone (spanish brand), and this app. What do you mean with server? it's local, my phone IP is 192.168.1.2, and the open port is 2121. That's how I try to access: ftp://192.168.1.2:2121
  8. Yes, same wifi. I simply use one of those FTP apps, enable service, and try to access from my computer. I didn't spot any "sharing" setting when I checked a few hours ago. I'm not sure what can be wrong, I googled for the issue yesterday but nobody asked about smartphone options, one guy said to try to check "Use default gateway on remote network". I don't have that option though, hence my question if any service is needed for FTP.
  9. I'm not sure why but I can't seem to be able to acces my mobile phone through ftp. I install an app that tells me the address and the port, but I can't get to that by any means, FileZilla, Pale Moon, or file explorer. It simply times out. It happens in both partitions (XP and 7) and without any antivirus or firewalls, so I don't know what could be going wrong. The only thing that comes to mind, might be a disabled service or Window feature (in case it uses any), since local FTP is not something I use on a daily basis I might have turned it off.
  10. Thanks for this thread, many Windows wide tips and tricks (like the hosts one). I read somewhere about adding this at the start of the hosts file if you are going to use 0.0.0.0 as local host # Special Entries0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 # fix for traceroute and netstat display anomalyAlso I tried to download the Scheduled Tasks file, but it seems to be broken (the file itself), I downloaded several times with same effect. In the same spoiler tab a trick is described to disable the keylogger: sc delete DiagTracksc delete dmwappushserviceI read this disables Cortana completely (without recovery), why I would still want to use Cortana as an internal search engine. Is it possible?
  11. "game"? I don't know where you want to get at dude. If you check the page you linked me I'm already using the 2 top programs.
  12. Actually wget is my second alternative. I got fed up of httrack when yesterday wasn't downloading the whole page either. Also, it's slow as hell (capped at 20kbps) and feels lacking-outdated. Anyway, whatever works is welcome.
  13. Hello. I'm having issues backing up this web, more precisely the roll menu at the top bar with arrows. Using the below command is supposedly to download locally the whole page but it won't download the part (javascript?) that makes it available to show when on mouse over. Also at the top-right the gear icons aren't downloaded. wget --wait=1 --page-requisites --html-extension --no-clobber --convert-links --restrict-file-names=windows --no-parent http://segaretro.org/Main_Page
  14. look for the link called "Legacy Windows", then from there you look for the driver, it's called PRO2Kv3.
  15. I don't like testing things out of the blue when a simple "yes" can be said, but I went ahead and it worked! it's awesome, thanks to blackwingcat for the mod, my XP is now complete, I'm done 'til 2020. Here is the original link. It seems he put together Win7 and XP Embedded drivers to make it work.
  16. Do you have a download link? I searched your page and downloaded one called "Intel Gigabit Network LAN Driver(v3)" but I'm not sure that's it. Are you sure it works on XP? Thanks for the mod.
  17. Hello, today I'm trying to download from Hulu. I want to download this video. http://www.hulu.com/watch/135697 I'm having serious issues, tried with a bunch of tools without success. edit: the same issues explained here.
  18. yes, URLSnooper gave me the IP, but what can I do with it?
  19. BTW, I tested again the animation with URLSnooper and I got the links of the source swf in a sane way (not like the older way with Moyea). Some swf include several videos, or have scripted video, or no (matching) sound at all so a lot of editing will be necessary, mainly since it is an interactive animation, but at least I could grab the original files. I used swf decompiler to extract the original files in avi + mp3.
  20. If you want to respond to all the misstatements you think to encounter on forums threads are rapidly going to turn into offtopic, as this thread already became.
  21. Maybe the program is outdated, which I said, but the plugins are constantly updating, so this must be very new. jDownloader installs adware (3rd paragraph here too). It converted from a respetable program to a fishy one. Anyways it seems you wanted to chitchat about download managers, while the topic here is very different (grabbing stream videos).
  22. It must have been updated very recently, during a long period of time there was no way to grab those. Anyways I switched to 4kDownloader for those, it can grab whole playlists and subtitles too so...
  23. The conversation moved onto this post. As for the documentary, your method downloads the low/medium quality videos. I already solved with a tool called KSV an HDS protocol downloader, I explained it here too, the source videos weight about 300Mb. Do you guys even read the posts? lol. Also jDownloader is kind of dated software already, it's slow, bloated, and subpar, it can't download 1080p youtube videos for example, use 4K downloader for that. As for a general download manager I recommend you pyLoad.
