KernelEx Apps Compatibility List (New)

Hello. First you have to install kernelex 4.5.2. Then you can install firefox. Then you you have to right click on Firefox.exe and click on the tab kernelex choose for specific compatibility mode and choose for windows 2000 SP4. And you can run firefox. But if I where you I would try the portable version, because if it does not work you can simply delete it. And you have no problems with the Registry. It is also better to use a release which is offical release then a release that is not stable like a esr release. -

Hello, I already found out what my problem was changing prefs.js from firefox. There was a file user.js with changed prefs,js. back. So I removed user,js. And I could change prefs.js without using about:config. -
KernelEx Apps Compatibility List (New)

Hi there. Well seems I have a problem. Every time when I have changed the prefs.js it is changed back to the old value by the settings in a about:config when I start the browser. So when I exit Firefox 10.02 then I get the old value back which I already had changed. And it is difficult for me to use about:config in firefox 10.02. So how can I change prefs.js without it is being changed back to the old value, when Firfox is started and then shutdown ? I will try to find it. Does anyone know what I can do ? -

I am testing now Firefox 10.2 portable with adapted prefs.js form firefox 9.1 portable. Firefox 10.2 seems also stable, I will do some testing. Firefox 9.01 is much faster then Firefox 3.6.28. Changes in my prefs.js: # Mozilla User Preferences /* Do not edit this file. * * If you make changes to this file while the application is running, * the changes will be overwritten when the application exits. * * To make a manual change to preferences, you can visit the URL about:config * For more information, see http://www.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html#prefs */ user_pref("app.update.auto", false); user_pref("app.update.enabled", false); user_pref("app.update.lastUpdateTime.addon-background-update-timer", 1335367803); user_pref("app.update.lastUpdateTime.background-update-timer", 1335368163); user_pref("app.update.lastUpdateTime.blocklist-background-update-timer", 1335368043); user_pref("app.update.lastUpdateTime.search-engine-update-timer", 1335367923); user_pref("bookmarks2pane.open_only_one_tree", false); user_pref("browser.cache.disk.capacity", 15360); user_pref("browser.cache.disk.smart_size.enabled", false); user_pref("browser.cache.disk.smart_size.first_run", false); user_pref("browser.display.show_image_placeholders", false); user_pref("browser.download.manager.retention", 0); user_pref("browser.download.useDownloadDir", false); user_pref("browser.formfill.enable", false); user_pref("browser.migration.version", 5); user_pref("browser.open.lastDir", "J:\\programs"); user_pref("browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion", 2); user_pref("browser.preferences.advanced.selectedTabIndex", 0); user_pref("browser.rights.3.shown", true); user_pref("browser.search.selectedEngine", "WOT Safe Search"); user_pref("browser.search.useDBForOrder", true); user_pref("browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers", 0); user_pref("browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser", false); user_pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.buildID", "20111220165912"); user_pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone", "rv:9.0.1"); user_pref("browser.startup.page", 0); user_pref("browser.syncPromoViewsLeft", 1); user_pref("browser.tabs.animate", false); user_pref("browser.tabs.loadInBackground", false); user_pref("com.djiha.addons.ff-accelerator.lastCacheUpdate", "1335365388695"); user_pref("com.djiha.addons.ff-accelerator.prefsTweaked", true); user_pref("dom.max_script_run_time", 30); user_pref("idle.lastDailyNotification", 1328282255); user_pref("intl.charsetmenu.browser.cache", "UTF-8, x-user-defined"); user_pref("intl.charsetmenu.browser.static", "ISO-8859-15, ISO-8859-1, windows-1252"); user_pref("layers.acceleration.disabled", true); user_pref("network.cookie.prefsMigrated", true); user_pref("network.dns.disableIPv6", true); user_pref("network.http.max-connections-per-server", 8); user_pref("network.http.pipelining", true); user_pref("network.http.pipelining.maxrequests", 8); user_pref("network.http.proxy.pipelining", true); user_pref("nglayout.initialpaint.delay", 0); -
KernelEx Apps Compatibility List (New)

Hello there, I can officially say that firefox 9.0.1 portable version works stable for me, I have moved from my usb stick to my harddrive. My system: Windows 98 SE 4.10.2222B winth kernelex 4.5.2 installed Motherboard Aopen Chipset : Intel i440BX/ZX Processor : Intel Pentium III E @ 850 MHz Memory : 512 MB (2 x 256 SDRAM ) NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 usb 2.0 card Belkin 80 gigabyte harddisk advance 29100 ultra dma100 controller I had to tweak prefs.js the same as about:config. Firefox 9.0.1 is working even faster then 3.6.28. And I could use nearly all the plugins I had with 3.6.28. -
You can also get old versions of the flashplayer here: http://www.oldapps.com/flash_player.php
-
I did an uninstall first just like I did before I did when I wanted to install 11.2.202.228. Installed flash fersion 10.1.53.64 for ie. It is a little strange flash version 10,3,183,10 did not work for me. Only flash fersion 10.1.53.64 for ie worked. I copied NPSWF32.dll 11,2,202,233 from a flashdrive and I renamed it to NPSWF32.dll. And copied it to C:\WIN98\SYSTEM\MACROMED\FLASH. NPSWF32.dll did not work version 10 for IE worked. Strange because I did the same when installing 11.2.202.228 and it worked. Then I copied NPSWF32.dll to the plugin directories of kmeleon, opera and firefox and it worked. I think the registry keys where deleted when I uninstalled flash.
-
Sorry for the spelling ioera must be opera of course.
-
Found the solution myself. Added npswf32.dll 11,2,202,233 to the plugin directory from ioera and it worked.
-
I added npswf32.dll 11,2,202,233 to the plugin directory of Firefox and it worked. I cannot see it in the registry. How to get it in the registry for opera and Firefox. When you do a complete uninstall possibly this will be removed. Well I have now the problem how to get flash back in opera. Doe anyone know how this works when the regstry key is lost.
-
I checked opera. the new flash version does not seem to work there also not in firefox. It works in kmeleon I added it to the p plugin directory. I do not know what happend. I will try to find out.
-
Seems I have a problem I cannot see this in the registry at all. I will look if the flashplayer works.
-
I manually copied npswf32.dll to the flash directory. But this did not work I had to remove flash totally and then I had to install flash 10 for IE and then I copied npswf32.dll to the flash directory.

WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) for Windows 98SE 1.1

HP-scannersoftware v3.00 was already installed. Later when I bought my Fuji camera I installed first wia11.exe and then Finepixviewer 5.4.11E. And then mtp12 to experiment. But I understand that can be removed. When I want to transfer a a picture from my camera Quickdcf2.exe in the finepixviewer directory. And then finepixviewer is started automatically. In this directory there is another file called ptpbridge.exe. I think that this program is started by quickdfw.exe in the backbround to build a bridge to the camera using the ptp driver. -

Hello there !! Well I became very curious if my scanner would still work after installing wia on my windows 98 computer. One thing changed. In the past I saw scanners & cameras in control panel. After installing wia I see it in explorer. I installed my fuji camera and the software that was provided with it. It aslo included the ptp driver. I could see it under cameras & scanners in explorer. Today I connected my scanner to my computer and I saw it under scanners & cameras in explorer. I started my scan software from hp and it recognized my hp scanner and I could scan normally. -

Are you sure the ptp driver works with irfanview on windows xp. Sorry I have not tried it on XP. I know it does not work on windows 98 with irfanview. The only thing I have seen that it supports the twain driver for scan devices. I can only select a twain source. -
