Hi all, Personally I do not understand Your position, Acheron. This attachment to nero 7 looks strange. Common, man, it is already history. If You are craeating installers You need to reinstall windows from time to time anyway, just to check how installer works on fresh system and clean registry. Why bother youself with keys or cracks. Use it for free for several weeks and You are not violating anything. If You are creative person, complete restore is inevitable from time to time. And when You will buy your new notebook or desktop You will pay for nero next versio anyway. I paid for nero six or seven times already though using this soft from version 5.5 as I recall. I have confirmed the WizardBitmapImage2.bmp problem while building latest SDK. The error is caused by ISSI. I'm further investigating this behaviour and will add a workaround for it in next SDK. @Acheron, When I posted error You said I was not following Your instructions. To fix this is very easy, just include the excluded line in script. If it is not a mistyping, and You wanted it to be excluded on purpose, then sorry...You know better. Will You make micromiser for version 8 or not? For version 7 it was very good. Without it script is pointless. I see from Your post that You gdot better internet speed (?). Can it be that all this project was only because of the size of installer? Can not believe that, really. Would be very pitty if You dropped this project... Especially now when You learned so much. At least could You write a tutorial of some kind for micromiser? All the best, Alex

Hi Acheron, When installing I got a mistake (see capture). It is very small mistake in the script, easi;y fixed from info in picture. Mistyping of some kind, that's all. Code error is more serious looking, happens while building, but I just took code from europe version and replaced it to eng version lite. It's on the line with word rollback as I recall. Mistyping again I quess but I decided to check script with code from europe version and it worked so Iquess mistake is in the code, not script., but as ir does not have nothing with functionality of Nero itself I decided not to dig, just to replace. I made installer for express and coverdesigner., only 24 mb, very solid and stable build so far. Thank You a lot for micromiser, it is fantastic, how do You know what to cut out? Can not figure it out. What soft else You are using? This idea with tutorial would be nice. All the best, Alex

Hi Acheron, How You figured out those three files needed to be added for videocd support? I just added all from dsf filter and was excluding one by one. Is there a simplier way? With nero8 i get this stupid sidebyside config error. No idea where to dig? Cause I am lost... Script is working fiine, though in nero lite eng code is not working correctly. I get error. Hi, Alex, just open it once in vlite and maybe do one tweak, disable all other pages, Apply - Rebuild. You'll have your isolated version untampered. This does not work. Vista folder even get's bigger. Used apply and rebuild. Any other suggestions? BTW, after quiting vlite I see it in process tab and need to kill process to start vlite again. Alex

Hi Nuhi, Could You please answer to this: if I will select vista ultimate and select to build iso without adding/removing anything to get smaller clean instalation files with nothing removed or added, are there chances that in future versions You will update file selection for different vista versions? Just do not want to copy 2.4 gb each time, so 1.1gb would be quicker. And I could put those files on flash usb. Can You confirm that file selection for each vista version is firm and final and no changes will be done in future versions. Thank You, Alex

@RaGhul, @B1aze, Actually, I HAVE noticed that myself. I don't know if Nero does this normally, since I haven't used the normal Nero 7 in the past year and a half.... maybe longer. made my own installer and nothing like that happens. Weird... Previous builds I used never left nero in processes after quiting prog as well. Alex

Hi, Some questions with this F>> Inno setup: !1. Acheron, how to make "do not create start menu foder" box to be checked (see first image) NOT to remove creation of start menu folder from installer, but just to make it checked on install? Should be simple, but those things are always hard to figure out. 2. I took nerofiledialog.dll from earlier version, added 2 files and now everything is working as it should be. 7.10.1.0 default add files directory is desktop (yes), but it always stays desktop and does not remember last used directory from version 7.8.50. I checked them all. What is strange is how Your nerofile dialog looks like. Is the screen made on XP? It should be, cause on vista it looks like on sceernshot in my earlier post. Confirm that, ok? BTW, now my add screen looks like Yours!!! (see second screen), but it remembers last used dir!!! 3. Can not find the reg entry to force neroexpress start witn dvd5 option, not dvd9 (see second screen). Maybe I overlooked registry entry, can someone help? want to add to tweaks before compiling setup. Alex

Hi, Some remarks for Your notice, 1. ndaudio.dll version in your build is older then in nero orig. 2. one more reg string should be added to nero cover desighner for clean uninstall. 3. can you modify nerofiledialog.dlls (vistaone) so it could remeber the last add files directory. By nero design add files dir is nero7 (???), though in previous version, let' say 7.5.7.0 iit was not the case. Is it in xp as well that ad files in nero express is windows/system32/ directory? Alex

Hi again, Made instaler for my needs without all this theather of pop up windows. Started using and so far found one bug, very annooying: see picture No matter how many times I add files to compilation from any other folder, nero does NOT remember that and always offer to add files from c:\windows\system32. Is that by new design or it is a bug? Can someone who can install from rc4 confirm that? Tried to fix it through registry by changing path, but nero restores to c:\windows\system32 after every start. WTF? With my previous version of Nero it was not the case. Sorry, I am kinda perfectionist and hate those bugs!!! Alex

Hi, 1.Starting install: Used xpsp2 comp finally to start install 2. No runtime error! at the end of install 3. starting express: 4.Must start instalation otherwise it gets back to window above. Funny! 5. Trying to unistall through setup : get this: 6.Starting install again and what is here? no quick launch option this time? Ha ha.. it more like game for kids with unexpected effects! What then?\ Looking into august 5 sdk files and... simple stupid mistake with quick launch in registry! comatibility tweaks tested on xp sp2 at best. oh, and the activation! very complex but all illegal keys are working! So my question is: why create all this crap? IT DOES NOT WORK PZROPERLY! maybe on computers like Acheron? At it's best. Can it be that You are paid by nero for all this trouble? Tested german version on vista and I see it works perfectly, no needless poping up windows, no mistakes at all. Why not to make the same ienglish version if You want to help users to get rid of ALL nero bloatware as You call it? Alex

Hi Nuhi, Since instalation is diff from xp, is it possible to install vista from usb (not to usb) flash? I have one 4 gb size. Thank You for Your devotion, using nlited vista without any probs already for months! Much more stable when xp it seems to me! Alex

Nuhi, vLite is just great, I just report bugs not related to the program as well, maybe someone knows the solution. User mode driver crash is random, vlite not related VSS pooling huge file on d: (shadow copy I presume) not vlite related. vent 1108 probably related with ati driver. Just tell me why didi You leave the shortcut for performance inf and tools in control panel if everything related is removed? alex

Hi Nuhi, To provoke user mode driver crash, try using different removables one after other connecting and disconecting them. This scenario should work. The only service I disabled is ati external event utility as it can not work properly under vista and causes other events. Maybe this service is cuasing 1108, I will try to test. Best, Alex

The same was the case in XP. so i see they made a "real" progress here. Loosers!!! Someone mentioned already in this forum about user mode driver crash while inserting removable devices.
