@ nuhi, I have radeon x1600 video card on notebook and using vlite i integrate unsighned video driver (hp lags behind while updating drivers). During installation vista asks whether to install usigned driver or not, but choosing to install does not help and the video driver is not installed. Can this be overcomed somehow? @ nuhi, Is it preintegration or slpstream like in xp (changing files with updated vesrion). Asking cause I have vista sp1 preintegrated original, but to test real slpistream would be really interesting. Pls answer, nuhi! Good wind, Alex

Hi all, The same here. All events mentioned here are not vlite related for sure. MS creating new problems with new updates as usual. I see no performance improvements with sp 1 at all. Full or vlited install creates the same events so it is not services related as well. For now I see that it is better to integrate a few performance hotfixes with vlite and leave sp1 for ms. Hi all, Here are some captures for Your attention to present improvements in vista performance. Nothing radical as I need it for many tasks, but very stable See capture4. My notebook is HP nx-9420. Ram 1 gb 1 slot dual core 1.83 Vista ultimate See Capture Functionalities kept or added for my needs (adding 5 processes see Cature2) : Printer Lightscribe Stereo audio Diskeeper See Capture5 as well office 2007 for my work plenty of games for entertainment Vista boot up time improvement: Full - 18 sec Vlited - 10 sec See Capture3 Windows experience index: Full - 4.1 Vlited - 4.3 See Capture RAM usage: Full - around 600 mb Vlited - 350- 375 mb See capture 2 Processes: Full - 41 Vlited -29 (5 needed for full functionality and my needs) Instalation size: vlited - 2.9 gb. Time to make a capture is lost, sorry... with office and apps I use - 4.8 gb Capture1 Full - around 7 gb. Critical events and errors after using vlited vista for one week See capture 4. Extremely stable performance having in mind funcntionalities I kept and added and 5 new games I am playing! That is why I love vlite!!! System stability! Post Your results here with captures! Hi, I had the same problem with my sony notebook with preinstalled xp. Sorry to say, but there is no way to extract files You need to use with vlite. Even worse, the key You have on Your notebook will not work with fresh copy of vista, as it is OEM key. And how bloated is sony installation! I hate them for that! All the best, Alex

Hi Dino, 1. If this is by design, and uac will be accessibble, it is ok for me. My mistake I decided that uac was not removed at all that's why I decided to enable it and check if ithis would remove error with eventlog. 2. Before reenabling, after reenabling it is impossible to access eventlog or any other prog. 3. That non-retryable error... What could cause it then? Or not component removal related? Any ideas? After that error partition c to fresh install is unaccessible... Hi again, 1. With RC version after UAC removal it was not possible even to get to the UAC panel where You can change uac setting. I thought uac removal update in final version means that even links to uac are removed. It seems strange that in finel version ability to get to uac tweak panel is back. 2. Why event log does not work properly? And complains about uac? 3. Hard disk is ok, I will test vista with Distributed Link Tracking service and report later if I still have the problem. Best, Alex

Hi again, Tested vlite extreme, though to start it was quite a prob. Some problems to report: 1. UAC removal was updated but for me it does not work. Though I fully removed UAC, I was still able to get to the panel to disable it. See attached files. 2. Another problem related with UAC is with eventlog. See picture, it is self-explanatory. 3. reenabling uac and restarting brings huge probs. Event log does not start, and snipping tool as well. so I could not make any pictures. 4. Power and sleep button tweak does not work as well. Fields are blank, see picture and after restart they are back to default. Dino, I figured out what breaks the parttion header. I removed distributed link tracking client in extreme (another, not this) version. After using vista for week or so I get ntfs event in event log6 telling it is not recoverable. After that I can not get access to partition c during fresh install, I wrote You about that. I think removing ntfs volume tracking client service is a culprit. Removing it can make fresh install problematic if ntfs related error will appear in eventlog. Sorry for those news, Alex

Hi, Dino, Dreamscene works fine even after extreme vlitening. I just forgot to integrate it as I was making extremely lite vista. winsxs size with office 2007 installed is only 156mb. Just great, let's hope system will be as stable as lite it is. All the best in the New Year!!! Alex

Hi, Dino, Used the new version and it is great! Some notes for Your consideration: 1. If uac and its elements are not removed, disable uac tweak does not work. 2. Pls make a note in hardware support that the first element for removal in this section (dynamic volume manager or so, sorry, I do not remember exactly) is a must have element for complete pc restore. Took me some time to figure out as MANY new elements for removal were added in this new version. That's all to report for now, Thank You for this wonderful Christmas gift! Alex

Hi all, Tested vlite 1.1. Integrated not only all applicable to my notebook hotfixes and drivers, but even this vista ult poker game and dreamscene. So vlite integrates even cab files!!!
